I think he is the best person to give this kind of a speech. I mean, like he says all the time....he had to pass an actual test to be an American. A test that probably most of us wouldn't pass, myself included.
Thank. You. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU. It is WAY past damn time for people to get this message, from the voters to the media to the politicians. I could not have put it any better myself. Massive round of applause for that speech.

So what, he spends a couple minutes saying know the candidates b4 u vote. There is not a single person that doesn't know you should know the person b4 voting for them. People do not know what the politician rly really believes, who is going to be in their administration and what they are going to do. The founding fathers thought we should have a republic democracy because the common person will not be able to spend their time figuring our these issues. Unless u rly know i dont want u to vote.
Voting is easy you don't have to know anything to do it. I disagree with telling people to just vote though. Those who care enough will vote and usually those who care know what they are voting for. If people dont want to vote they must not know what they are really voting for, or don't like the candidates. When I first voted it was because I was 18 and I just thought now I can vote, but I regretted who I voted for. I believe you should vote but you should really know what you are voting for,
That,s why he spends an entire 2 or 3 minutes out of his entire monologue saying how important it is to study the candidates before you vote and then vote for them. "Learn about them, read about them, question, them, listen to them, then on Election Day listen to yourself"... Craig Ferguson.
This is Craig's best monologue I've seen so far. Just strange that his best line (imho) doesn't get many laughs ("if he were dead he'd be furious" *g*).
Boy did he get down on this one... and he really got after it again tonite (9-24-08) about the Wall Street Bastards.... Looking forward to hearing that one again too. Really appreciate you putting these up.

And we were supposed to know that beeeeecause??
And I didn't call you an asshole, but you just had to swear at someone over the internet, didn't you. And the mere fact you actually care about the thumbs-down shows you've got issues.
And being a "cheeky monkey lover" from day one, it always amazes me that these monologues are done without benefit of cue cards or teleprompters. Aint't he sumptin?
Put the video of this monologue or at least the transcript in all public places in the US. Everybody should watch this. "Are we so lost we have to be sold our own democratic right?" - True and fantastic. Keep it up Craig!
This guy has been a US citizen for 6 months, and he has a better grasp of civics than most of us who were born here. By far the smartest guy on late night TV. When Dave letterhead finally hangs it up, Mr. Ferguson had best be on the short list. Conan O'Chucklehead would not stand a chance in the late night wars. Well done Craig. Slainte
Slainte, I'll drink to that. I'm not sure if he wants the big spot as awesome as that would be. He has said about walking away once his current contract with CBS runs out.
Craig, like me, isn't a big fan of formal education, but learned a lot through a love of reading and life experiences.

It is true, you appreciate things more when you earn them. Ferguson earned his citizenship, and he shows it. Great man.
take this as a lesson, don't give things to people who don't earn it, they won't understand its value. Vote accordingly...
