hello spencer..just to let you know ive mastered the harmonic section.the only problem is that i cant get it loud enough to complement the rest of the piece and thats on the godin multiac and the gretsch 6120.
spencer with regard to the harmonic section at the top end. ive hunted high and low for it and cant find it i unerstand the mechanics of the phrasing but the harmonic just aint there ! your thoughts please...
you have to cover 1,2,3,4,th string on the 5th fret. then count up 12 frets then with your picking hand ,Then 12 frets up from the 5th fret pluck the 3rd string with the thumb pick and touch the 3rd string with you pointer finger lightly making the chime sound . Let me know if you get the chime sound with that info??? then I will explane the rest. Pluck and touch each of those strings and you will see they all can be harmonics. with this method you can make an artificial chime at any position.
at 0:58 how are you doing the Harmonics? Are you using more than one finger for pinching or pressing the strings...? It's sounds really smooth. Thanks
Im using the thumb and pointer finger for the harmonic on the third string. The rest of the notes are not harmonic. Let me know if you understand that? if not I will give more detail later,
i had to have a strap button put on. for some reason i cant seem to just hold a guitar and play it without wrestling with it. since i had that done i havent plugged in my electric steel string lol. it does seem to need a light touch to get a nice sound but thats unamplified. i will know more when i get a proper amp. i do love the way it sits and its balance. much thanks for the tip. i will let you know what i think when i get it plugged in
Spencer: Nice work on Cascade! I enjoyed the sound of your studio guitar. It's a tough tune to play all the way through like you did. I wish I could. Gary

Well done. The Influence of Jerry Reed was on Chet in this arrangement (making it a B..ch) to play.
