  • I just bought a Sankor 16C and I'm looking for an adaptator clamp.

    My camera is a Canon 7d and I use a Yashica Yashinon-DS 50 1.4

The filter size of the lens is : 55mm.

Does your clamp fits this configuration ?

  • @JeDorsBeaucoupTrop Yes, you will need to use a 55-60mm or 55-58mm step up ring. The clamp base is 60mm and includes 52mm and 58mm step rings, so you can add other step rings for various lenses. Nice lenses by the way. You may need to crop your image slightly as the 50mm may be a bit too wide for the 16C even on the 7D, but it wont be too bad. We use a similar set up too.

  • @VidAtlantic Thank you for your very fast answer. Do you sell this step up ring ?

  • @JeDorsBeaucoupTrop No sorry we dont have any 55mm step up rings. Only 58mm and 52mm. Its best to find it online or in a camera shop.

  • It's proskar sorry

  • I have a question for anyone who would like to help, I have a prosper anamorphic and I have to zoom with the camera in order to use it ,my question is ,how can I get "wide" with my lens ??

  • @JakeAndAngusMovies Probably the widest that you can go with it is in the 60mm to 85mm range depending on which camera you are using. And it's more ideal to use prime (non zoom) lenses.

  • @VidAtlantic Thanks.

  • can i ask u question??

can u control the focus while shooting with sankor anamorphic lens?

  • @ouwdiy Yes, most Sankor 16 series (Eiki and Singer as well) can be focused. You'll need to focus both the Sankor and the prime lens though. Well worth it in the end!

  • cn u pls advise me if ur adopter can work on GH1 lumix lens 14-140mm its 62mm diameter. n second lens is nikon 50mm diametre 52mm. will i need some step up rings or how will sankor 16c will fit on these 2 lenses thanx

  • @sanafatma The clamp kit will have 3 size (60mm, 58mm and 52mm) so to mount to some lenses you will need simple step up or step down rings. And the Sankor 16C will sit inside of the clamp base and attach via the 3 fasteners.

  • Hey guys again, I sold my sankour 16C and D. Will a SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH 2/85mm CINELUX ANAMORPHIC LENS fit on this mount?

  • @TheKnockedFilms We're not sure, can you email us a photo or link to a photo of the lens? info at vid-atlantic com

  • Hey vid-atlantic, If I were going to get a step down ring to 49MM. What thread size is the anamorphic clamp? Thank you

  • @gatler05 The base of the clamp is 60mm but the kit also comes with 58mm and 52mm rings.

  • @VidAtlantic

I'm looking to get from 49mm lens A to 32mm rear thread of adaptor, can your clamp work with this? The adaptor is Bolex Palliard 16/32/1.5x .... will it vignette stepping this far do you think? Thanks

  • @simonhansfilm the vignetting will depend really on the camera and SLR lens that you are mounting it too. It will probably work with various lenses on any DSLR. But can you send us a photo of the anaorphic lens so we can be sure that it will work with our clamp? visit our Vid-Atlantic website and go to the contact page for our email address.

  • I take it that the clamp would work with a Sankor 16F. I'm getting one as well.

  • @jbtube73 yes definitely it will work with the 16F. In fact at 0:38 seconds in the video the lens that is being mounted is a Sankor 16F.

  • can you list the lenses tha was used in this video? I'm looking into getting one. Thanks

  • @yungsonny2700 No problem, check our vid-atlantic site from time to time for some of these lenses as well. Lenses that will fit our clamp and that we recommend for DSLR use. Sankor 16C, 16F, 16D, Kowa 16H, 8Z, 16D, Bell and Howell, Proskar, etc...more to come...

  • @VidAtlantic Ok thanks for the response. With Sankor...what does the C, F, and D mean after 16? If you had to pick personally...which one would you choose for the T2i

  • @yungsonny2700 I'm not sure what the letters signify. The 16C was our first love though. The 16F isnt bad either as its similar in size. The 16D is a bit larger but also works on a wider variety of lenses and has amazing results, so thats a tough question. Its a toss up between the 16C and 16D.

Also we make a front filter step ring specially for the 16D so that you can attach filters and close up diopters the front. This makes the 16D tons more useful!

  • @VidAtlantic Thanks partner...Going to check on a couple now!

  • Hello, Ive got a super takumar 50mm 1.4 with a 49mm filter size. Would I just need a 52mm to 49mm step down ring to screw your adapter to my lens?

  • @earworm Hi Nice lens! Yes you can use a 49-52mm, 49-58mm or a 49-60mm step up ring since our kits comes ready to mount to all 3 of those sizes (52mm, 58mm and 60mm). The 49-58mm's are very easy to find and very cheap on eBay. They work well and we use them too on some of our 49mm lenses.

  • oh forgot to mention that I also have a NIKKOR 50 mm lens 1.4

  • I have a question, I have 1: AF MICRO NIKKOR 105 mm 1:2.8 with a diameter of 52 mm and a AF-S NIKKOR 17-35mm 1:2.8D. I use them both on my Canon 7d with a novoflex adapter ring. so my question is: wich anamorphic lens would be the best for these lenses? I'm pretty new to anamorphic but I really want to get into it:)

    thanks in advance!

    David

  • @Roffagekte The main questions are how much money or budget do you have and want to spend on an anamorphic lens? There are so many out there to choose from all with many variables.

We dont sell the lenses, only the clamp. but once we know your budget and expectations we can better guide you towards the right combination.

I hope this is helpful. Thanks,

    info@vid-atlantic

  • @VidAtlantic my budget is 300 euro tops, I saw alot of anamorphic lenses for 150 or 200 dollar on ebay. such as - 16mm Lens: Kowa 2x Anamorphic- for Bell & Howell - 16mm Lens: Sankor Anamorphic 16C No.48151 - Sankor 16-D Anamorphic Len - Isco 2X anamorphic cinema theater lens - Sankor 2x 35mm Anamorphic Lens Adapter Silver - CMATL - ankor Anamorphic 16C #28465 - Kowa "Anamorphic 35" 35mm Movie Projector/Camera Lens they are all in the 100/300 dollar zone but wich one to take? david
  • @Roffagekte All of the smaller lenses were made for taking & projection, so they're good to use. Kowa for Bell & Howell, Sankor 16D, Sankor 16C. The rest of them that are gold, brass or silver, are no good for use on cameras as they're way too big, and they have a very long minimal focus distances. Also, the back ends are very large and the clamps wont fit on them. If you can get the Kowa B&H, Sankor 16 or 16C, you'll have a good lens.

  • @VidAtlantic

I really appreciate your help:), I will buy one of your clamps soon;)

    thank you:)

    david

  • Where can you get anamorphic lenses?

  • @MattexFilms2006 Either on eBay or we usually have some extras that we are selling at vid-atlantic. Email us for a list! Thanks!

  • I just found the closest ring adapter. I had to try out a few on ebay. I settled for a 40.5mm for my anamorphic lens that adapted to my 52mm nikon lens.

  • What does the diameter of the photographic lens have to be? I have an EFS 15-85 with 72mm diameter and some vintage Hasselblad C (silver) lenses with 70mm diameter that I am using with a fotodiox converter on the 7D body. I'd like to attach a Sankor 16D.

  • @Polyzaar It's a matter of trial and error for some lenses out there. Lenses that have 70mm filter diameter can be step down to 58mm or 52mm for use with our clamp, but it doesnt always mean the field of view will clear the length of the anamorphic attachment. With the 16D and your lens set to 85mm you may be fine with the combination. The Sankor 16D is a great lens by the way!!
