  • @02chevyguy Walking will only help your legs become more flexible , jogging/running (doing interval exercises) on the treadmill will burn your fat :) But yeah, the easy way is to do walking daily (or 3 days a week) and 2 days a week try to do 2 minute walking then 1 minute jogging then return to walking for 20 minutes , that should help you :) Trust me dude .... i lost 15 kilos in a month doing that shit :P i am 70 kilos now going to 60 :)

  • @kickassemperor My weight loss has been rather extensive as well. A spot was found on lung back in May, but it's not cancerous (I'm going for another CT scan on the 8th of Feb). Between June and now, I've lost between 35-40 lbs. (was 260 at start, now hovering around 220-225). I was doing elliptical, spin bike, water aerobics (but NOT a class, my own routine) and walking. As I said in prior post, I need to get back to the Y again. What is your weight now (in lbs.)?

  • @02chevyguy With walking, none of this 20-30 minute stuff for me. It's more like an hour to two. I did 4 times around the mall on Monday, which is equivalent to 4 miles. I cut my time by 2 minutes (usually take an hour, was only 58 minutes). When I walk, I WALK...none of this strolling crap! I figured how many minutes it took for me to walk each lap...14.5. Not too shabby for a (soon to be) 56 year old man.

    I'm glad to hear that you were losing weight, especially for a middle-aged man :) As for your exercises , keep it up this way, it would take some time but i am glad to hear the results :) And i am no trainer btw...:P Because maybe i am a 17 year old and growing up,i think that helped me in my weight loss,and maybe i have a very wierd metabolistic body ..

  • Push ups are best for chest and triceps. They should mention that you should go heavy and shorter sets for mass. For me, I would go 70lbs, 3-4 sets, and 8 reps for dumbbell. Normally, I would just do 60lbs bumbell, 4sets, and 12 reps.

  • @tidus114 triceps? get weights (15-20 starting maybe), lay down on your back, put your elbows alligned with your ears, drop the weights behind your head and just push. keep your elbow locked in place too. i find thats one of the best ones, hope that helps

  • @ledzepplin18 my routine comprises of upper body (including of course, biceps) on mondays, wednesdays and fridays, tuesdays and thursdays its best for cardio e.g. jogging, walking, etc

    also, eat a snack with protein before workout, and have a huge peanut butter sandwich and milk right after the workout! payoff = lovely food, full stomach and fastrack to larger muscles, biceps or otherwise :)

  • I used to do pushups and sit ups but although it aloud me to do more pushups I didn't see a difference in my arms an I did it for about 10 weeks I was doing like 200 a day not in a row I used the pushup program and sit-up program and yes they were real I can do 50 pushups in arrow but this didn't make my biceps bigger it just increased my indurance and sit ups didn't give me a six pack but I am trying this guys work out thing and now I have a four pack I'm gona try waits and I hope my arms arnt

  • @FreedomFighterReturn It isn't cheat to rotate the elbow, its just another exercise where you use biceps and forearm. If you don't rotate then you don't use your forearm as much as if you rotate. But if you use the small of the back then its cheating.

  • @andoriz0r haha if your asking how long you rest.. definetly dont rest for two minutes.. never rest more then a minute.. and don't just stop at 10-15 if you think you can do more keep going until it really hurts.. don't push yourself to hard or you can get injured!

  • @tony23zzz if your asking how heavy you should curl we can't really determine that but being.. Big is good you can build more muscle! But to answer your question you should maybe go tot he gym or a store that sells dumbells and try out different weights.. see which one you feel comfortable with then as you improve lift heavier ones! remember don't pick to light of a weight! atleast 10-20 reps!.. hope this helps :D

  • @tony23zzz start with 10 or 12.5 pounds dumbbells if you are new to exercise , if at most you can do 15 reps then the dumbbell weight is good for you :)

  • For any beginners! Heavy weights equals mass.. Which is how big your muscles are.Your reps should max out at 10-15 for heavy weights.Lower is to heavy,higher is to light.Light weights are for ripped which is how hard your muscles are!Reps should be higher then 25!

  • Zottman curls are the best for bicep training i find. They're a little harder, but exercise more muscles within the upper arm and fore-arm.

  • But this could be wrong, because what i`ve heard from other trainers is that u dont wanna lift the weight all the way up, cause then your resting the bicep, what you wanna do instead is just to lift it a little bit more then half way up, then your muscles works all the time without resting anything :P

  • @outlaw2skate If you want partial muscles you can lift partial way up. The bicep muscles are responsible for flexing your elbow (bringing it upwards). - they dont get a rest at the top... they will be rested at the bottom of the movement when they are no longer contracting
