The only reason the guy got his arm broken was because he was too proud to tap. Tap or Snap retard! He had him in an arm bar for about 5 seconds and was giving him time to tap. For all you strictly karate people out there (by the way, i take both american kenpo and bjj) its all about being familiar with any position you might end up in in a real fight whether it be standing up in the clinch or on the ground(which is where 90% of fights end up). MaddProfitz keep dreaming or become well rounded!
I agree, but this Karate guy is a poor example of a Karate guy. No counter ability what soever. It's true 90 percent of the fights go to the ground for someone. I prefer standing up, because in a real fight his friends would be beating on you while you are going for the armbar. But you are right you have to know your newaza!
it was broke before he tapped. these fight dont look to me like there is many rules i think the bjj guy is going to schools and challanging the students there.
Yes his arm broke. This user has at least one other clip where and arm breaks.
On the matter of Shotokan kicking jiu-jitsu ass I would say no. Been training a few different styles for a bunch of years and have come to one conclusion. Ground fighting techniques are superior to most. If a good ground fighter gets a hold of ur person u will have to match his groud fighting techniques or be a truly superior to him in ur own style to survive.
Dont get why he breaks his arm after he taped out.
ive been training in shotokan for 11 years and theres no way a move like that would even land on me without a swift knee to the head and a punch to the back oh his head
you are shit noob. It depends on the fighter. I get really nervous when I see something like this. If he expected that he wouldn't let this happen. He isn't an ground fighter, he fights in stance. Get to it and stop posting shits like system 1 vs system 2 !
@div753 to say, and think that a martial art is superior than another is very inmature, and if you are one, a disgrace that a martial artist could say, anyways, you should be ashamed of your self to bash on something like this.
and in a no ground fight, they karate would dominate. in a ground fight, the jiu jitsu dominates, is that simple.
That's not Karate. The guy in the white gi ran at the other guy with his arms down, not in a fighting stance. A beginner or a pub fighter could beat someone with technique as bad as that.

a good karateka that has trained long time would kill that jiujitsu guy in 2secunds with a single punch. Speacialy if he is a real shotokan karateka.
