I would say its more like the love child of assassin creed and god of war. not world of warcraft. it doesnt share any of the gay features of world of warcraft. this is a rip off of god of war for sure.

That's hard to say. I do have an afinity to GoW, but I'm not gonna say that that's gonna be better based on this. I hope this game kicks ass too. Ultimately I want this franchise to succeed as well. The whole concept of the game just rocks, not to mention the art style. This year's gonna be crazy. Mass Effect 2, Splinter Cell Conviction, Heavy Rain, and The Last Guardian are some of the other games that I'm really excited about. Hope I still have a girlfriend by the time new year rolls around

After Bayonetta this looks and feels kinda boring. Bosses were easy and they had only handful of moves. Death had 2 combos, spinning move and the flying shit. And how easy it was? Block his combo then do your own combo, rinse and repeat. Minotaur only smashed and stomped and was even easier. Dull dull and boring. Normal enemies didn't feel dangerous at all, just smash X and do the spinning move, combocounter just kept rising. Maybe it gets better further in the game, but the demo wasn't good.

I didn't like this demo at all... this is just one of those hack 'n slash -games. Dante beats the Grim Reaper like nothing. Is he a 90-year-old with H1N1? Again, the obstacles which limit the exploration of the environment are the invisble walls. And the controls were just like the rest... heavy/light attack, magic, jump, dodge, use etc... Something new must be made! Not God of War-ripoffs!

I like how people are comparing this game to GoW 3. You realize, they have made GoW 3 times now - of course it's going to be better. This is the last of the trilogy, the big SUCK ON THIS of the GoW series. Dante's Inferno is just starting, I bet it's going to be just as much fun the original GoW was.

i'll put it to you this way, God of War is that really hot MILF that lives next door, and Dante's inferno is that new hot younger girl who just moved in, both are really hot, and know how to satisfy, the milf has more experience and will never be topped, but this new younger hottie is just as good with enough experience, so yeah, that's how this is, both games will still rock your world :P

I just played the demo, and I've never seen a game clone another game so closely like this...
The gameplay is EXACTLY like God of War. I can't believe EA would almost make an exact copy of God of War like this; the controls are the same, the combat is the same, it even has what God of War called "minigames". Almost every single move is a copy of a GOW move, for example when you hold the triangle button on a PS3 controller you swing and jump in mid-air in slow motion, EXACTLY like God of War...
I could go on and on about the shit it's copied from GOW, such as the combo system, the orange gauge in the bottom left corner that is an exact replica of Rage of the Titans in GOW, even where the health and magic gauge is placed with the number of orbs or whatever they call it in this game that you can use to upgrade your abilities (just like GOW). There is NO WAY this is just a coincidence, EA should be sued for this type of shit.
I am just disappointed that a major gaming company like EA would go as far as almost completely plagiarizing another game just to make some money. Why Sony hasn't taken legal action against EA yet I have no idea.
Sony already has more than 8 million people just dying to play god of war 3. With all the hype for the third installment, I dont think they should really worry at all. Unless, this game blows every other game out of the water than it may compete strongly with god of war. To be honest I haven't seen any other T.P button smashing game get a high achievement, except MGS4.
This demo alone is worth 60 $!!! lol. But seriously this game looks badass. I liked controlling that beast as my own puppet >:D - that moment was epic.

thats why dante's inferno is available for xbox.... to give the xbox people a taste of what GOW was like..... but you cant beat the original. GOW 3 demo is 100x's better than Dantes Inferno...... but the game will make a killing on both sides of the field.

i was disappointed with the demo. it really did feel like a god of war knockoff but it also reminded me of this lord of the rings game i had for the ps2. the lvl design and monster designs werent all that great.some things were completely copied like the fountains that give hp, mp, and those holy points, riding monsters,buttons mapped exactly like god of war, a weapon with a chain attachment, blah lol. i hope the rest of the game is better than wat the demo introduced. i think ill just get gow3.

you haven't played many hack and slashes it seems and don't understand the beauty of combo attacks....In a game like NG for a example the first few lvls can be a bit like trudging through snow however once you unlock ablities the variety is wonderful when mixed with the speed...but heck this is a DEMO it's amazing they give us the chance to upgrade the weapon once

Sony built an excellent console this time around but after playing this and many other titles, the only developers who take advantage of it's abilities is Sony's own developers. That really sucks. At the very most for example GTA4 might be 7 gigs of data. For PS3, Rockstar chose to ignore 18 to 43 gigs of empty space on a Blu ray. No extra vehicles, people, dialogue, etc. Lazy cookie-cutter developers.
Rockstars not choosing to ignore the extra space its because 360 uses dual layer 7 gig disc and most devs that make multi platform games try to make identical versions to there games to make it fare. If GTA4 was exclusive im sure it would have had like 3 states, everything form San Andreas and a space station to fly to space because Blu-ray can handle it. So blame Xbox's disc format from holding the PS3 back no Rockstar games
That makes sense from the standpoint of production costs and time constraints. I suppose developers would alienate Microsoft if more content were to be stuffed onto a BluRay. Modern Warfare2 really could have used a beefier offline component. Fare? Developers are communists LOL.
I thoroughly enjoyed this demo. Excellent framerate and resolution. Some of the textures & backgrounds are a bit flat. Nice poly-count on some character models especially Dante. People are gonna hate me for this, but I've been spoiled by Uncharted 2. Once anyone's played that game, it really opens your eyes to what developers are not doing with the hardware. I'm getting this game.

I like how people are comparing this game to GoW 3. You realize, they have made GoW 3 times now - of course it's going to be better. This is the last of the trilogy, the big SUCK ON THIS of the GoW series. Dante's Inferno is just starting, I bet it's going to be just as much fun the original GoW was.

@AwaisAhmad99 you know God of War is not ORIGINAL in the genre. It brought new things to it, but if you think Hack and Slash games are thanks to God of War you couldn't be more wrong. Take DMC 1 and 2 for example, they both came out before GoW. If anything GoW is copying from DMC and many other games before that... got to love Sony fanboys..

just got this demo and I can really say it's fucken awesome, now let me break it down for those ignorant cunts, this type of game seems like God of War because it's a GENRE, just like fighting games, sports, racing, music, puzzle, and shooting games, yes Devil May Cry, Ninja Gaiden and GOW and the main ones but who cares if they get copied, as long as it play awesome, and some of these fanboys have some stupid loyalty, idiots, variety is the best thing a gamer can have!

i'll put it to you this way, God of War is that really hot MILF that lives next door, and Dante's inferno is that new hot younger girl who just moved in, both are really hot, and know how to satisfy, the milf has more experience and will never be topped, but this new younger hottie is just as good with enough experience, so yeah, that's how this is, both games will still rock your world :P

thanks man, it's not like GOW is gonna last forever, it's good to keep GENRES going, even with completely new franchises, and those fanboys who have a "loyalty" to just one game are ridiculous, that's NOT what gaming is about, gaming is about having fun with different games, just like movies, just like music, variety makes everything better
BTW, Dante's inferno's framerate and beast ride IS better than GOW3's, BUT GOW3 does other things better, so win-win

Ya, how many games do you see where you hold the exact same button you swing and jump into the air at the exact same speed with attacks almost replicas of eachother.
I guess the fact I bought GOW Collection last week apparently makes me a fanboy. I'm not here to compare the 360 to PS3 or degrade an individual, I'm merely here to point out EA has performed a significant level of plagiarism and I can't believe Sony has done nothing about it.

I've played both. I've played the demo.
I not only think that they're not replicas, I think they're entirely different. And I think this is worlds better. I don't even LIKE the Hack and Slash genre since DMC4, but Dante's Inferno is a must buy for me. Not GOW.

I just played the demo, and I've never seen a game clone another game so closely like this...
The gameplay is EXACTLY like God of War. I can't believe EA would almost make an exact copy of God of War like this; the controls are the same, the combat is the same, it even has what God of War called "minigames". Almost every single move is a copy of a GOW move, for example when you hold the triangle button on a PS3 controller you swing and jump in mid-air in slow motion, EXACTLY like God of War...

I could go on and on about the shit it's copied from GOW, such as the combo system, the orange gauge in the bottom left corner that is an exact replica of Rage of the Titans in GOW, even where the health and magic gauge is placed with the number of orbs or whatever they call it in this game that you can use to upgrade your abilities (just like GOW). There is NO WAY this is just a coincidence, EA should be sued for this type of shit.

Sony already has more than 8 million people just dying to play god of war 3. With all the hype for the third installment, I dont think they should really worry at all. Unless, this game blows every other game out of the water than it may compete strongly with god of war. To be honest I haven't seen any other T.P button smashing game get a high achievement, except MGS4.

thats why dante's inferno is available for xbox.... to give the xbox people a taste of what GOW was like..... but you cant beat the original. GOW 3 demo is 100x's better than Dantes Inferno...... but the game will make a killing on both sides of the field.
This game however, comes out the exact same day as BioShock 2.

i was disappointed with the demo. it really did feel like a god of war knockoff but it also reminded me of this lord of the rings game i had for the ps2. the lvl design and monster designs werent all that great.some things were completely copied like the fountains that give hp, mp, and those holy points, riding monsters,buttons mapped exactly like god of war, a weapon with a chain attachment, blah lol. i hope the rest of the game is better than wat the demo introduced. i think ill just get gow3.

you haven't played many hack and slashes it seems and don't understand the beauty of combo attacks....In a game like NG for a example the first few lvls can be a bit like trudging through snow however once you unlock ablities the variety is wonderful when mixed with the speed...but heck this is a DEMO it's amazing they give us the chance to upgrade the weapon once

Sony built an excellent console this time around but after playing this and many other titles, the only developers who take advantage of it's abilities is Sony's own developers. That really sucks. At the very most for example GTA4 might be 7 gigs of data. For PS3, Rockstar chose to ignore 18 to 43 gigs of empty space on a Blu ray. No extra vehicles, people, dialogue, etc. Lazy cookie-cutter developers.

Rockstars not choosing to ignore the extra space its because 360 uses dual layer 7 gig disc and most devs that make multi platform games try to make identical versions to there games to make it fare. If GTA4 was exclusive im sure it would have had like 3 states, everything form San Andreas and a space station to fly to space because Blu-ray can handle it. So blame Xbox's disc format from holding the PS3 back no Rockstar games

I thoroughly enjoyed this demo. Excellent framerate and resolution. Some of the textures & backgrounds are a bit flat. Nice poly-count on some character models especially Dante. People are gonna hate me for this, but I've been spoiled by Uncharted 2. Once anyone's played that game, it really opens your eyes to what developers are not doing with the hardware. I'm getting this game.

Cant wait for this game. This will hold me off till GoW3 or a DMC5. Didnt really like Bayonetta. I'm glad they worked with DI for this. It's a god of war 3 with not as gud GFX But very good gameplay. I say who cares if anygame is like the other? Incase you havent noticed when others make there own ideas it sucks. LOL Why change it when these are the best hack and slash mechanics?
