I had the chance to record in Cherokee Studios while I was in Lip Service in L.A. (circa 1981) where Alice recorded 'Flush the Fashion'. I was sitting in a chair in the studio and our producer (John Weaver) who was 2nd Engineer on FTF told me that Alice would sit in that chair and write his lyrics on the fly. Kind of give me a cool feeling. Loved Alice all my life ever since I saw him on ABC's 'In Concert'. Still do.
That was during "Flush The Fashion Tour". Saw him perform at the Greek Theatre back then in 81. Later I got to work with him on a TV commercial in 08. He's a great person to work with and he was very thankful for being a fan since 1973. Used to blow my parents out of my room with "Billion Dollar Babies."
Agreed, this was such a great period theatrically, the psycho geisha, the crossdressing military figure...I wish that he would incorperate some of these looks into the current shows.
looks like Alice by Warhol !
