Blade of the immortal was an amazingly well done series, though I am actually very sad to see this :( the dark horse printings have just stopped and shops are quickly running out of books. Blade is one of the finest examples of quality art in manga.

I'm actually really disappointed in this series. Please try to find volume 1 and I assure you the scene between manji and the thugs is ten times more epic and drops nearly everyone's jaws. the animation is nowhere near the height of hiroaki samura.

well ya man cartoons in general cant be as high of quality as comic art. it is already hard enuff to animate anything so with a detailes series like boti of course some of the quality will be lost but samura uses a ridiculous amount of lines making has art look sketchy that wouldnt tranfer over well to anime anyways

(The fact they're throwing in nude shots even in the intro is pathetic and seems like a way to try and draw more audiences/money. the manga has never had nudity, nor as it ever needed it with how amazing the artistry and story is on it's own.)

Loved the manga since i first found it, a friend told me about it being turned into an anime.First thing that I thought was there was NO way they could convert the art talent into anime form. Blade is way to unique on to many levels(mostly artistic) to do that really. From what I've seen, It seems like someone trying to leech off the success of the manga.(c)

The plot of this moves by just a bit too quick, but I can see them needing to do that in some cases. The manga plot moves REALLY slowly at times. Following "On Silent Wings" there's not much action for awhile (though when it's there is RULES), so they might want to increase the pace a bit. Since the manga is pretty much finished in Japan (they're on the last part of the final arc), they could actually turn each of the twenty-four something volumes into a episode each.

Also, the cencorship I can also understand. The censors in Japan freak out at EVERYTHINH. That's why blood in anime is thick and looks kind of like syrup sometimes: because if it was too realistic they wouldn't show it.

Which is funny, because in terms of subject matter, they allow way more stuff than American cartoons. Also, it was the Americans which changed beer to coffee or cider in all the early video games.

Yeah, I've only read the first manga and thought it was badass. I guess not all anime can be too graphic. I woulda loved to see Manji chopped in have in to dices. The preety backround that appears when the kill blows happen are lame compared to the manga art.

Wait a minute, a thought just came to me.

This just might be a bad cut and translation of the anime. I could tell that the scene where the guy's head is supposed to explode with the Manji didn't explode. It just kind of sat there.

Japanese TV frowns on excessive violence, so there may be an uncut version that reveals more of the plot and has the same amount of gore.

Also, the japanese translation wasn't entirely accurate. The sub took things literally when it could have been more figurative.

Wow, thanks for posting this.  Had no idea they adapted my favorite Manga into an anime.

I have to agree with "the manga is better" camp. The soundtrack and animation is pretty lackluster. But if it takes off, maybe it'll get better.

The characters seem a bit off also. Manji is pretty tame. Could be that the way my volumes were localized make it seem that way, I read the Darkhorse TPB's.

They're really rushing the plot development also.

I thought Samura was against creating an anime for BotI? Or is it that this company bought the rights to produce an anime serial for it?

If so that could explain the rushed pacing. They only have so many episodes they can print, so they want to show as much of the series as possible?

That and the violence seems toned down. My guess is this is an attempt to nab rabid fans of the series. A quick buck...

The rest of the series hopefully will be better. This was lackluster.

i agree. I also prefer the manga, the good thing about this is that it helps your imagination while reading the manga again. But I didn't like that also some lines were taken out, but, overrall, not bad =)!

No, it is bad. This just seems so cheap in comparison. It doesn't have the same edge - even the Berserk anime had some of the Manga's feel. This has a little, but while it has been a while since I read vol. 1 of BotI, but this seems to rushed and out of tune. And while I voiced this opinion in part 1's comments, I'll say it again after hearing the end music - the music in this sucks.

Thanks though for the upload, at least now I know not to bother. Such a shame, but I still have the manga
