  • Absolutely superb video of the ISS and Shuttle!!!

  • Wow. How did you track it so smoothly?

  • great video!

  • @monkriddler Sure it is possible to see this. Anyone with a decent telescope with between 50x and 100x and who has the patience to move the scope manually can see a lot of the detail on the International Space Station. In fact, many "Go-To" telescopes allow automatic tracking of spacecraft, freeing the user to just look in the eyepiece and see the detail. The solar panels, radiators, and some of the modules of ISS can be easily seen.

  • My birthday

  • What kind of lens do you use??

  • I can only imagine how fucking scary it must be to be up there docking, knowing that a screwup could mean (although very epic, still very tragic) death.

  • Can't at least one Shuttle be kept on as a Standby Launch Vehicle ?

It seems like Technological Rergression that no Second generation of Space shuttles were ever built.

I think many people including myself always thought a newer batch of shuttles would be Built and used for another 25 years

  • Somebody just mooned you right there, replay the footage and zoom in...

  • excelente.................

  • Świetne ujęcie! 5/5!

  • man, this is a great shot...!!

  • how do people get it that clear its amazing

  • automated tracking trough motorized telescope joints

  • Nicely done ! very clear !

  • good work!

  • Very cool

  • nice shot!!!

  • That's very well tracked. You would probably be able to see an astronaut on an EVA at that level of magnification. Hope you get some good videos up from STS-126! Thanks.

  • remember it was gerry gilmore that said go public. watch in high quality sorry at this time your tube are not letting this film play in watch in high quality i wounder why ?

  • Outstanding quality. Congratulations.

  • well done mike

  • Saw you guys on that BBC" documentary recently. Great amateur work. Keep it up! :)

  • Mike, you've outdone yourself. You can see the Shuttle pretty well, and the flare from the space station is icing on the cake.

I'm curious what kind of telescope you used to get this image.
