  • they split up in 1971? lol haha

  • This is really all you think about while watching this video: These are John's last things he said to the public before he died. Who knows if he would've recorded the biggest song ever the next day maybe the beatles would plan a reunion it makes you really sad :( and i beleive it was december 8th

  • The Beatles didn't break up in 1971 lady.

  • Just appreicatethat all the beatles, in spite of beign the biggest successes possible in this world, maintainted a respectable degree of civility and sanity in their lives. They dont owe you and me a damn thing , their were and are just four fellas who hit it unbelievably well doing want they as kids really loved to do. God bless all of them. You dont have to look far to see truely wretched excess and death in simlar entertainers do ya?

  • beauty doesnt matter, John loved Yoko for who she is. she understood him and he understood her. they were perfect for each other. and i personally think Yoko is really pretty

  • in other words, you'd do her eh?

  • yoko understood John's wallet and his fame. Fuck yoko.

  • @bluemeany

    I totally agree....

  • @bluemeany moron, YOKO made more money for Lennon, she handled his estate and made them more money than he had as a Beatle. YOKO wen't through numerous miscarriages before having Sean, people like you are just like Chapman who killed Lennon, you're obsessed with hatred and insanity. You know nothing about life, certainly not Lennon's REAL LIFE WITH YOKO, his WIFE let alone you're own lack of life to keep hating somebody you know nothing about on a personal level.

  • @Kaitlyntom It is not about YoKo! PEACE IS THE ANSWER, WAR IS OVER IF YOU WANT IT talk about that!

  • @Kaitlyntom Yeah I agree with everything you said, even Yoko being pretty. Not a normal pretty, but a very unique, ethnic beauty.

  • John was a fairly nice looking man and a very talented musician, extremely popular and kind. There must have been a lot of nice looking women who were around him, but he picked Yoko...hmmmmmm, not saying she was like ugly or anything, I am just saying........Well she CAN knit with a blindfold on!

  • The fact that he was able to fall in love -truly fall in love - with a woman's personality and soul, rather than just stereotypical beauty, is one of the things I cherish about him.

For the record, I never thought Yoko was at all ugly and can remember my surprise when I realised, having gone online, that lots of people have some kind of an issue with her looks. Her face has a serene Japanese look to it, that's all. A more pleasant face than most so called Western faces IMO.

  • @walrustusks you assume there is a standard of beauty that should be applied to everyone. "not saying she was ugly or anything" but you were saying John was "fairly nice looking" "extremely popular" "very talanted" as if he had no say in his life and only relied on his popularity, musicianship and nice looks to dictate his life.

  • yes it meant that much to me too, I was brought up near liverpool in the 60's and adore them all and have all their albums (solo ones too) It was like death to me when John died...but these american interviewers just cant give it up

  • I don't know to which "interviewers" you refer. But keep in mind that most were born later, and probably don't know very much about The Beatles, at least first-hand (look at younger people who read books by phonies who weren't there yet believe them as if first-hand accounts: how many "I was John's best friend" did John have? it's dozens by now). So they ask a question that's most obvious to them, one they vaguely heard concerns a controversy. Others aren't satisfied with any answer.

  • @JNagarya I know u wrote this a year ago but I want to recommend a book on the Beatles. "The Love You Take" it is probably 25 years old but i have owned 3 copies and stupidly continue to lend them to others and they never return it cause it is so real. Excellent account on them all and especially John.

  • @vic1161 "The Love You Make" is yet another tell-all from a backstabber. Lennon made clear that Peter Brown was one of those at Apple who took three-hour martini lunches, and was pissed when The Beatles broke up because that threw Brown off the gravy train that The Beatles had been for many hangers-on.

If you read it carefully you'll note that Brown attempts to undecut Lennon's statement of the fact that "Lucy in th Sky" was NOT about LSD.

  • why are american interviewers obsessed about why the Beatles split up?...never ceases to amaze me

  • Beacuse it meant that much to Beatles fans. Had you grown up with them, and saw the never peaked -- they only got bigger and bigger and better and better until they broke up. They had become part of our life; it was like a divorce, or a death in the family.

  • True.
