Now, there are several genres included in metal, this is metalcore, maybe verging on speed metal at times, those bands you listed are death metal. Both are metal, just different sub genres. Black sabbath and bands like it are the only bands that could have ever claimed such a monopoly on being metal, as they were the original heavy metal bands.
