  • Todo iba bien con el review hasta que sacaron su comercial de Magic. Coño! Buen review though.

  • Ok first I will never understand people who give mean hateful comments. What is the point?

Ok I loved this movie too. I did not necessarily understand all of it but the visual and emotion was beyond words.

  • I gave up at 3:47 and wrote this comment before leaving. why? to start with Thin Red Line is not your average war film, its the best war film of all fucking time. I could spend all day hating on the dip shit on the right but seriously? if your going to get a guest on to talk about films dont bring some ADHD shit that needs a splosion every 30 seconds to maintain his attention. Tree Of Life is by far one of the best films of recent years and i bet it was said later on.tbh this is not totally rad!

  • @ThePostRockProject Keep watching it my friend, the man on the left and the man on the right PRAISE the film! Ignore the man on the right, he has a "mainstream" opinion. I understand why the first cut was 8 hours long, The Tree Of Life could be 24 hours long and I would enjoy it!

  • The Fountain is better than this piece of crap.

  • @aquapendulum go fuck yourself in the mother fucking asshole, tree of life is a masterpiece you assfucking nigger.

  • @malows1234 Somebody is angry.

  • @malows1234 ..."nigger"? I guess you never graduated high school.

  • LOVED Tree Of Life.

  • They did't even do research...crap!

  • Jesus christ, these guys are full of shit. 8D

  • Switch between Discovery - Religious channel - HBOfamily for 2 hours thats The Tree of Life.

  • were have u guys been my whole life lol. great reveiw i felt the same way. great analysis of the movie

  • You guys spelled his name wrong in the description.

  • guys that movie should have came with a warning label because half of the cinema left - it should say: 'only for the artistic sorts'

  • You're an idiot, I do agree that the evolution piece was out of place, but the images, disregarding that piece, were the most emotional, powerful, and truthful that I have seen in my life. I choked up several times, and I have never cried during a film, ever. The best film of the century, hands down. But opinions are human and mines as meaningless as all three of yours', so here's to nothing.

  • @Forgetfulknotts hear hear man...how can these idiots say this movie is a prayer..is a beautiful compilation of memories i was awash with emotion etc and say its terrible, i hated it...IDIOTS indeed..at least the guy on the far left was spot on and honest and made ense on his feelings.. the guy o nthe right should not be reviewing films period

  • Great video guys, love the nice touch of MAGIC THE GATHERING VIDEO GAME VIRAL BUY IT PLAY IT BUY IT NEW CARDS BUT IT SO FUN SO EASY MAGIC VIRAL VIRAL VIRAL VIRAL BUY THIS GAME FUCK.

  • Yep , totally new to totally rad. This is BY FAR the best review I have seen or read of "Tree of life" .I dont mean any disrespect but I dont know the guys names who do this (that will most definatley come) But the guy on the left spoke the words I could not muster to my mates. You are so spot on. TRS now has a shortcut on my desktop.Looking forward to more.Brilliant!

  • Great review guys!

  • That dude in the middle with the white T-shirt has a perfect hairline. Why the hell does he shave his head then!?

  • Jeff Canata's review of this movie is still my all time favorite movie review on TRS. Choked me up. Very powerful. Well done.

  • An experience like any other. Pure magic. Watch it people!

  • One of the most amazing films I have ever seen.

  • Thanks for this review guys. y'all are really good at what y'all do.

  • I LOVE...TOL it is one of the best movies i have ever watched in my life!!!

Knowing that this was Malicks real life experience ( his own bro committed suicide at the age of 19 , a musician just like JL while he was in Europe) makes this movie so much more real...This is a masterpiece PERIOD!!!!!!

  • That Levi commercial you're referring to was directed by John Hillcoat, and in it he manages to completely rip off Malick's "The New World" (which is, by the way, Malick's actual most recent film prior to Tree of Life, not The Thin Red Line). So yeah, I'm guessing that's why you were reminded of it... it's pure Malick.

  • Brad is part of the most beautiful couple in the world. However, I do know a little secret about a product they take. Please go to my link and see the proof!

  • Went to see Harry Potter last night but it was sold out and I saw this instead. Loved lots of it but some portions didn't work for me. Still an amazing film. I liked the nature documented once it got some life in it,hated it until then.

  • Great review. I can't wait to see this film.

  • Oddly I am having more of an emotional reaction to this film A DAY LATER. For a film largely about memory and nostalgia and meaning, I seem to be experiencing more of that about the film VIA my own memory of it. When I saw it I was appreciating its beauty but trying to piece it all together and so I felt disconnected emotionally from it - and I kept hoping the film would take me to this ultimate place it never was able to. I set my expectations too high, but so did Malick, but I'm so glad he did

  • I also wanted to say in reaction to one of the viewer's comments about the LENGTH of the film being unnecessary, or a detriment: once the film is under your skin and a classic, during a future viewing you won't want it to end. To learn of cut scenes would seem a crime.

But I was reminded of Andrei Rublev, a film I love which has a huge emotional effect on me, but it works in part BECAUSE I've just endured 3 hours of B&W long-shots of Medieval Russia IN Russian that the ending transcends all.

  • Movie critics are the biggest hypocrits. JEFF CANATA is one of the biggest right now he just spewed five minutes of bullshit

  • @cjkalelcj why do you say that?

  • Coudlnt agree more! Right on the nail

  • @UmbertoSanchez can i ask why?

  • @luis61961944 because the film is average at best. but once again were told its a great work of art and how terrible the first HOUR of a movie is only to find out that it touched so deeply with him. imagine if a movie like transformers had a "terrible first hour" he would give it a terrible review even if the rest was great. oh wait that already happened.

  • @UmbertoSanchez transformers kinda suk sir

is just personal opinion sorry for my bad english.

  • jeff just gave the best movie review i've ever heard... i reeeeaaaally wanna see this now

  • I kind of want to see Tree of Life now. I saw an ad for it when watching the King's Speech. I also loved The Thin Red Line.

  • Finally a guest that I did not hate. Love me some slashfilm

  • Where'd Jeff get that shirt?

  • It did win the Palm D'ore! Do your research guys. Come on!

  • Interesting, I've had many people say that it's a terrible film.

  • @Deadmansparty2002 Yeah, because most people would complain that the Mona Lisa is not a G.I. Joe comic and thus terrible. Barely anyone can connect with purely cerebral or emotional film making anymore.

  • @1p2o3i Actually, most of the people that I'm talking about are filmmakers, who actually wanted to like the film but didn't, some of whom really liked Terrance Malik's other work. I have yet to see it myself, but this has me thinking it might be good.

  • @Deadmansparty2002 I won't have the chance myself. It won't be in the theatres where I live.

I missed a review of the acting from the guys. It's all well talking about the emotions and images but the acting deserves a segment as well.

  • @1p2o3i Then how can you say it's not a terrible film if you haven't seen it? Seems counter-intuitive to me.

  • @Deadmansparty2002 I didn't say that.

I merely noticed that people often disregard something that surpasses their capacity to understand artful entertainment.

  • @1p2o3i Sometimes, but sometimes a filmmaker just fails to get across the message he's looking to project.

  • Haha! Apple Store guy! He's talking about me!

  • Is it me or does Peter look like Gru from Despicable Me?

  • @bubbamudd614 I was thinking Penquin from Batman Returns.

  • @bubbamudd614

    yeah, its you...

  • Before chocolate... there was The Mead!

  • i don't even have to watch the "review" to ask: why the f do you review a movie/work of art like that??? It isn't ANYTHING for your audience AT ALL.

Your audience for the most part is Alex - again, haven't watched it yet (will do any second), but he obviously hated it - as most people will. - which actually is one fact which makes it great (since you know, the masses are dumb)

  • interesting!
