No offense, but I really don't like the HT album. Not hating, just the whole thing is underproduced, lugubrious and boring. And his sub band can't touch the E Streeters.
I was working in a record store that catered to more urban/early rap ( think GOOD, WELL PRODUCED with actual SUBSTANCE!) RUN DMC, as well as Mary K' Blige among others/ etc. and I was the "token" long haired Rock and Roll guy.... I picked this up...played it..loved the whole "tape" ( this was b4 digital/CD's replaced the cassette/reel to reel...) Great stuff!
One of Springsteens more underated, underplayed and underappreciated songs. Good stuff, very good stuff. Relevant for today, and for the foreseeable future.
And that is soooo totally true except now there are a couple hundred channels and there ain't jack on I wanna see! I hang on youtube and listen to music. Thanks for this video.
These days: more fucking channels, less on.

Great hook and video - as a kid, this put Springsteen on my radar.
I do feel bad about the Cadillac, though.

To each their own. I think its a real by-the-throat album, passionate but desperate.

@norabauer758 He's kind of at his best underproduced. What, you didn't like "Nebraska"?!? :)

If I took a picture of my PC screen and somebody saw 247 views on Springsteen, they would say it's fake!
BTW, great song.
