@maedamaple it's based on an atari 2600 game called Cosmic Ark. In 2001 someone made a homebrew 2600 game called Vault Assault which plays even closer to Core's gameplay. Check it out on Youtube or even play it on an emulator. It's perfectly legal and pretty fun to burn some time on :D

This song is no joke. The boss is a total nightmare. Core in general is incredibly tough. I've never gotten far into the last song. Although I've never tried it with a second player...

I wish the games came with an unlockable no-fail mode. I've showed this game to a crowded room, and they were instantly captivated by it, but could not meet the gameplay demands, and thus experienced very little of it.

All Bit Trips have some sort of similarity to an old game.

For this one, Its simalar to Space Wars, or Soemthing like that,

in void, Ego is based on pakman.

I'm pretty sure this is probably the most difficult part of the entire game, seeing as it's so hard to memorize. It helps to take some advice I found on the GameFAQs message boards: KEEP YOUR EYE OUT FOR THE DOWN ONES and any of them that go horizontal.

Why ain't Control's boss the hardest? You can half-ass it pretty damn well, comparatively, since it's a lot of old news.

Looking at this video, you actually can see that the most of it is the same formation, only mirrored at times. It's d, l, d, l, d, l, r or with left and right mirrored.

It's D, L, D, L, D, L, R, then two U, then the same formation mirrored, then it repeats, then it's the rhythm that is featured a lot in the last part of the stage.

...Great, I'm sitting here trying to get a paper out, and I'm already cooking up a walkthrough for this game...

Yeah wave 3 was ridiculous, but i barely passed it with a nether ending as well. But the pattern can be distinguished how.

Control is honestly easier than Exploration in my opinion. At least boss wise.

i can make it to the boss just fine without using the bomb but the boss is a pain

When I look back at it, this boss is actually harder than Control's, due to the fact that if you miss like 2 you die.

That's insane! Man...I can't beat this level: Sometimes the beat of the music and the beats coming toward me are so erratic, I just lose it...urk. Great job!

It's retarded. miss one and it drops you down a level. Unless it tries to hit a shield that was already destroyed.

Same here.... except I keep losing on the freakin' 3rd wave. Thanks for the video though, at least this way I can figure out the rhythmic pattern of that 3rd wave.
