Its kinda like fingerpicking where you play the bass notes the pick the lower strings. I know he's playing the bass notes on a bass guitar but its the same principle

Umm... they're normal drums. That "bump bump" sound is just the bass pedal. I know he uses electric drums but it's the same principle.

Both gg and Mattrach are insanely good. But in my opinion gg is more technical with what he does on guitar, however mattrach write bass line, rhythem, and in some if not most of his song another lead to harmonize (hidden in the background) and he plays the drums to his songs. Both are great musicians in your own right. Who you think is best in an opinion.

There isn't one guitarist who's the best ever. There's no way of proving that. He's definitely one of the best (or will be judging by how good he is now) and mainly it depends what kind of music you like. People into metal might think Malmsteen is the best, but people who're into rock might think Slash or Angus Young is the best. It's all really a matter of opinion.
