jaguar is facing real bad company problems and so is land rover, which sucks cause i love the range rover and it'll be spending more time in the shop then on the road, i know this cause we used to have one. what a car, but everytime it broke down i felt like a jap car owner which is not a good feeling. so can the new xf save jaguar, well we have to see.
Every brand can have some problems, every type has had perfect and ehm ... less perfect model; my Jag XJ6D is now getting his second gearbox in two months! :os Bluetooth not working, rear fog ligths inop, ... don't get me started, but don't get me wrong either I still DO love jaguar! Just had some bad luck now, luckily all under warranty!
i have na XK and it is perfect. it is a lovely car and yes ford owns them, but this car is a masterpeice. All those problems you stated can be "made up" im a little skeptical. if you lean out your seat the seatbelt sign will go off. and also if your knob is just under the P in park it is not in park... notice when you tapped the knob to the left it worked! I think someone just doesnt like jag and wants to flame them, if they are real problems im sorry and they can be fixed.

You think thats bad....try my BMW....regularly defaults to 2nd gear and the dealer says....nothing wrong! My next car wiil be a Jag and this video hasn't put me off. It just sounds like your dealer hasn't checked it over before you had it.
Not in park problem will just be the inhibitor switch, easy fix
Seatbelt will just be a microswitch as well that isn't connecting when it should, its all to do with the airbag system that senses when somebody is in the seat or not as to when the seatbelt switch goes and also how heavy the person is, what position they are in and all that for the airbag system to work out what stage to deploy to
I'm a huge fan of Jaguars (I worked for them for 4 years) but the faults you have ARE unacceptable. To stop the seat belt "ping" for now plug in the passenger belt. If you're not satisfied with your dealer's response to your problems try contacting Jaguar US or even Jaguar UK. Their address/details are on their website.

Reliability - shmliability... If you want reliability buy something without a soul like a German or Japanese car. I'll have one even if it dosn't start at all. Just put it in the living room and stare at it all day.
Since posting this video the passenger seat problem has been getting worse. Does it constantly now. Makes us wonder if the passenger airbaig is going to deploy or not as the car can't tell if there is a passenger or not..... beware!

The "little guy versus the mean corporation" shtick doesn't work as well when it's an $80,000 car. Kind of hard for most of us to understand dropping all that money on a car in the first place.
Good idea with the Video - I may try that with my Mercedes oddometre which does not go over 40mph yet mercedes cant do anything because its intermittent!
lol i know...such a shame for such a beautiful looking car. real let down. I was going to buy a jag until I read about the endless problems... :(

Its the first series of the new xk all cars are like that
its basically still a prototype. I own a 99 s type and its had poblems since day one but once u fix it u realise why jags are great cars.
