@Zekeron they were great; both amazingly talented MC's; both should definitely be commended for being great. but as for being the two "best MC's in history" its a little excessive. Devin the Dude was hot, he didn't get proper cred even tho hes a huge inspiration to so many rappers. Just because theyre talented doesnt mean they're the best.

but i still think there have been too many revolutionaries who rap with the same message and ideas tupac had. The fact that he, and i quote "began the east vs west mindset in hip hop" made him famous. dying elevated the fame. A lot of rappers are, by your definition, luminary, doesnt mean they're spotlight "best rapper alive" material like tupac or BIG

@fatmansam122 It should not be about who the best rapper is, it should be about their message. And who cares about the rappers, it's the artists that matter. Rappers only rap about money, fame, sex, drugs, murder. Things that will get them popular to sell. Music should be for art, not exposure. If they want money they should start a business.

@fatmansam122 There's no way to really know that, jay-z never fell off and in my opinion BIG and PAC are better then him and in my opinion PAC is better, there's never been a rapper that influence and touch so many people lives, PAC has a bigger fanbase and for good reason.

Really though, Dre does have the best verse in the song. He ain't trying to be flashy or anything, he's just being real! Cube's verse is nice to, although it isn't featured here. But Jay-Z verse is the one that I would trash, if I was going to do something like this:)

@glemerica Yea Biggie didn't write his lyrics down and Jay-Z doesn't, in the end it's about what you say in your music and how you say it. Andre 3000 has the best lyric structure and rhyme patterns in hip-hop. He makes the most unusual words rhyme even Eminem has stated this about him. Read the Vibe article from 2009. Em says he studies Andre and he thinks he's the best alive, which I also think.

Read the Vibe interview with Eminem from last year, he says Andre is the best rapper alive and he studies the way he rhymes. I've got the Tupac Remembered book and Eminem has a tribute in there, he idolises Pac.
