  • is jig-a-loo good on a ghosthand cube?

  • i lubed my cube with the silicone the way you told me too but differently in only a couple ways and now my cube i think i can tell the difference

  • I have a strange break-in/ lubrication method- I break it in dry for like an hour, then put petroleum jelly in it (I know, I know...), and after a week of use, wash all the pieces and spray them with CRC or Jig a Loo. The petro wore the plastic down, then the silicone lubes it.

  • @HowtoCube

    What about graphite powder

  • 99+% Liquid Silicon is the best... Lubix is good..

But I use other silicon, because of the lubix's price (10dollars+shipping isn't this cheap to me.. .I pay about 2 dollars for 30ml Liquid Silicon)

  • i hear that wd-40 is absolutely horrible for lubing your cube but what about wd-40 silicone spray?

  • @N0OBKI1L3R wd-40 silicone still has petroleum distillates which is horrible for your cube

  • Is Lubix the same thing as the "injectable silicone" you use in this video?

  • hey , wad did u use to make ur cube so smooth ?

  • try lubix. its the best

  • How many fucking cubes do you guys have???

  • haha rubix cube is gay

  • @TacoLove1000 you just cant solve it :P

  • what about wd40

  • Is it possible for you to make a video on applying injectable silicone (in the syringe)?

  • CRC is in the auto part of walmart, it was $2.17 but i highly recommend it. Your cube is terrible at first but just work through it. Its a little ironic, on thr back of the can it says "dont use on plastic" but its actually pretty amazing. WARNING: make sure its CRC and not like liquid wrench or something. They are NOT the same

  • i got some japanese silicone spray, and it smells like shit, does CRC or jigaloo smell like that too?

  • CRC says DO NOT USE ON PLASTIC. Still use it?

  • @Entityyyy yeah

  • I cant find crc anywhere, where can I order it online?

  • @JPxKillz i live in canada, i had to go to the states to go get it. its in USA walmarts

  • i was just wondering if 3 in 1 silicone is ok for lubing? cause i just got a guhong and i'm not sure if i have to buy lubix to make the guhong good?

  • @annoyster buy lubix and do what donovan (the lubix guy) does in the ultimate lubix guhong mod tutorial

or you can buy 30,000 wt silicone diff oil and do the same thing

that makes ur guhong amazing but u could just put regular silicone (not too much) and it will still improve

  • @Johnnydp2905 K, thanks.

  • would wd40 work

  • What would u use to lube a dayan guhong with stickers and POM plastic? I cant seem to find what is best for lubing it online.

  • I've used all lubes except Jigaloo and i must say you guys dont give vaseline enough credit. If you have it in a cube for a while and use it a lot it will create a nice even coating and the corrosive properties will reduce lockups. If you can, silicone,

but vaseline will only make your cube better (storeboughts for sure)

  • you guys will sell to paypal users?

  • i have advanced auto multi purpose spray lubricant

it sayd it is petroleum distillates

it is the only thing i have

idk what it will do to the cube or if it will even do anything

i put it in my dayan guhong 6 colored cube

do you think i should take it out or no

  • @atlsoldier27 yes absulutly

  • which one is better: jig-a-loo or heavy duty silicone?

  • I went to get some of the CRC, but the CRC"Heavy Duty SIlicone" that is in this video and I saw at the store contains acetone, which according to the wikipedia page for speedcubing, is a solvent of ABS plastic and should not be used for lubrication.

Instead I got a DuPont Teflon Silicone lubricant, which I tested on my store-bought cube. It turns better, but there is a large amount is static friction. is this normal, or is it safe to get the acetone-containing CRC?

  • Any silicone spray will do fine, as long as it doesn't have petroleum distillates in it. Unfortunately, most of them do. But I found some that doesn't at Ace Hardware for like $5 and it's working really really well. I highly recommend it.

  • @sokkerking12345 was it the ace brand?

  • @wildman279 yes it was.

  • '

i used a Qtip with a very little bit vaseline on the rubik cube side,,,

    vaseline is NOT spreading leak,,,

    lubricant liquid can spreaking leak

  • here in Argentina i cant get any CRC, but there are some silicone spray that are used in car's interiors, like System Wash, could i use some of that? They are kinda cheap... Btw, I have only 2 cubes, a crappy one and my diy

  • 6:03 Being Anal??

  • I just got some Silicone Spray for my cube, but its not CRC...

Its Spectrum Plus Heavy Duty Silicone Lubricant.

On the can it says Caution: May Damage some plastics...

is this safe to use on my regular store bought cube?

  • I just got CRC. What is the best way to lube my 3x3? To disassemble it and give it one sweep, in each side of the cubies? Or just take away three peices and spray and work it in? Help plz... I have been hearing lots of ways.

  • @DrunkernBob lubiks cube lube is the best out there

  • 3:37

  • i cant find the crc silicone spray i tried walmart, lowes, advance auto parts and auto zone they dont HAVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Is there any difference in CRC and Liquid Wrench?

They're both Syllicone.. but I don't know what one is best.

  • @Joshndthatdude Liquid Wrench has less than 10% of silicone

  • @michaaal357

No wonder my cube is ruined..

    Thanks I had no idea.

  • you just swore at me at the end :D

  • they stopped selling jigaloo at home depot 6 months ago

  • you guys should sell types of lube on ur web

  • Silicone Spray that is.

  • You're wrong about Vaseline, it does help, its just not used because it apparently disintegrates your cube. It can work better in hotter temperatures though. QUESTIONS: How long should Silicone last for? Should it have a certain ingredient/property? Anything to avoid?

  • vegi canola lubericaciun oil

  • i recently found CRC heavy Duty but it was Marine. And the bottle was blue. Is there any difference between them or do they both work the same way and will improve my cube the same way??

  • what about wd 40?

should be as good as crc and jig a loo?

  • @Slonoloza wd 40 is oil based. it wont work

  • hello "HowtoCube" im from norway and we have crc silicon spray but not

"crc hevy duty silicon" would it make any diffrence to a storebought cube?

  • hello is it necessary to lube the diy cubes or the dian sheng cubes, coz here in india nether jig-a-loo is available nor is the silicon spray of any type available, can u suggest me any alternative like greese we use in engines

  • @ashwinsinha2003

I tried service greese on my cube and it works....but if u put to much it slows it down.

once that happened i wiped it all off and it seemed to make it better.

  • i just lubed my cube. Now its worse. how can i get the lube out if i can. Please respond

  • where do u buy jig a loo

  • I had a 4x4x4 Rubik's... locked up so tight and was so bad Rubik's sent me a replacement immediately. I could barely turn the faces and it felt like someone put gorilla glue in the thing. I took your advice and went to wal-mart and got a bottle of CRC Silicone. Sprayed it in and darn near gave myself blisters trying to work it into an already locked up cube. Then, after about 20 minutes of non-stop twisting... it loosened up almost in the blink of an eye and is now my best 4x4x4. Thank you.

  • My Dad says Silicone spray is the same as WD40. Is that right?

  • @gelluper NO... WD40 has many petroleum distillates in aside from Silicone. Over time it will dissolve Nylon cores and faces. Most other plastics as well. CRC is like 2 bucks a can if you live in the USA... And it is the BOMB.... Order lube from rubik's if you have no access to CRC Brand "Heavy Duty Silicone Multi-Use Lubricant"

  • Hi guys, i wonder one thing. The only silicone spray i found was Crc Silicone Spray. Does it work?

  • @RodCuber That's what they are using in the video... I use it... works to free up even the most horrid cubes...

  • @Kittani1977 it's not heavy duty :/ just normal

  • Hey.

All i have is GLIDEX silicone spray.

It is made from 100% pure silicone oil,

    but will it work?

  • CAN YOU SAY WHAT TYPES OF SILICONE SPRAY I CAN USE TO LUBE MY CUBE BECAUSE I LIVE IN SWEDEN AND CANT FIND ANYONE!!!!!

  • what is best for my teraminx i have crc but i dont want to take my puzzle apart and i know its not a good idea to spray it into a puzzle that big and with that fragile of parts, would jigaloo be ok or would it damage my puzzle? im afraid if i take the teraminx apart i wont get it back together.

  • what is best for my teraminx i have crc but i dont want to take my puzzle apart and i know its not a good idea to spray it into a puzzle that big and with that fragile of parts, would jigaloo be ok or would it damage my puzzle? im afraid if i take the teraminxe apart i wont get it back together.

  • the only reason that theres jelly on the cube from jigaloo is cuz u didnt let it evaporate so it would leave a slick surface

  • Hey, umm.. do you know anywhere that sells the cube lube other than puzzleproz, cuz it like stopped selling......

  • anyone knows where i can buy the cube lube couse that is one of my favorates it came with my DIY A-III but want to have some more

  • Ahh, I see... So the way my cube was hard to turn was normal after using silicone. Haha, I freaked out when that happened and washed my cube. Thanks for the info guys, great vid!

  • i cant find CRC anywhere!!!

  • Guyz i found out a more efficent way to get the stickyness out from your cube when u spray your silicone, do it on a napkin then rub it on the cube it easier :)

  • yeah crc does lock up i have my second cube here with me now and i just sprayed it with silicone an it is, its locking heaps, well it is brand new today and it will take me a while to work it in but thanks (rate 5 and subscribe)

  • You can get vaseline anywhere but it belongs in the trash LOL XD HOLY SHIT THATS FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • if you want to see something good i'm 11 years old and i can solve the rubik's cube in 22 seconds, if you dont believe me click on my page.

  • What do they mean by type f or whatever because i just got my rupicks cube from walmart

  • i found somethin in my garage called never seez silicone lubricant. can i use it or should i never?

  • I use an awesome lube. It is a dashboard cleaner silicone. It smells like oranges and strawberries, and has a very great touch and effect to ma cubeh. it gives it the thick yummy sound.

  • My hardware store didn't have CRC silicone, but they did have Elmer's Slide-All. Slide-All is a dry teflon lubricant. I used it on my store-bought and it seems great. What do you think about teflon?

  • what if the CRC is says Screw loose but it says lubricate in the bottom?

  • nigga get a life

  • i don't have CRC silicon spray but i have a different type (TMP) would it work or not?

  • which is the best cube lube, jig a loo or silicone spray?

  • hello, I put lube in my 2x2 eastsheen and its too losse, is there a way to take out lube or clean it out

  • @Javib325 It'll wear out after a while, don't worry. You don't really need to lube an eastsheen anyho.

  • kk thanks

  • I've been reading a lot of good things about shock oil on the Speedsolving Forum. Do you guys have an opinion about it?

  • ok thnx

  • is any silicone spray okay, or just CRC brand

  • Any should be fine, if you can find it the food grade might be a little better but it should all work pretty much the same for the most part

  • petroleum@SpeedStackinGuy96 any should be fine but if you don't want your stickers not to be damaged us silicone sprays without petroleum distillate cause it damaged mine!

  • How do you lube a cube with Jigaloo?

  • Should you CRC spray a DIY cube?

And what is the best DIY cube?

  • haha u 2 are funny , but good video.

Didn't know that these things are so popular

  • Thanks so much for this. I always got worried whenever I tried re-lubricating with silicone.

  • how would you lube it with jig a loo ive heard many people melted their cube with it.

  • check out our video 2 cube lubes 2 lubrication techniques and use the method I use on the Blue type F.

Jig a loo is okay, if you don't over spray it and don't let it pool on your cubies.... but you are right it will dissolve plastic if you let it set or use too much

  • @HowtoCube is it possible to lube a speed cube? or no need to?

  • i've used pam. ... ha ha ha ha works better than vaseline.

  • How well does a cube cut corners With the Puzzlepros/Rubik's injection lube?

  • Depends on the cube, but honestly I can tell you it doesn't matter what you lube your cube with you aren't going to change it's cornering degree by more than one degree.

You may have better luck with adjusting tension

  • @HowtoCube another technique i use is vegtable oil in my experience ppl say bad stuff about the oil based products but it works well and doesnt where on the stickers and in my case rele has no bad effects

  • do u just spary on one side????? with jig a loo??

  • check out our vide 2 cubes 2 lubing methods for how I do it

  • can you use any kind of silicone lubricant?

  • We sell jigaloo in our store and I was messing with my cube, stressing how badly it turned. Then I figured, why not spray some of this in there? It works amazingly.

  • does wd40 work as a lubricant?pls reply to this comment plssssss

  • Absolutely not. It contains petroleum which will destroy your cube.

  • never use wd40

  • No, don't lube with WD40, it will melt your cube...

WD40 = Fused pieces, melted cube, aka: EPIC CUBE LUBE FAIL!!!

  • NOO

    it melts the plastic

  • no way, if you use it then your cube will die

  • I just finished using Jig-a-loo on my mirror blocks cube.

my #1 recommendation (perhaps even more anal than you guys) is to completely disassemble the cube prior to applying the Jig-a-loo. I wiped off any which had pooled. Upon assembly, there was no cementing of the pieces... just smooth turning.

I was very happy with the results.

  • i just ordered a white C4U 3x3 speedcube

what would be the best lubracation to use on it?

  • if you use injectable cube lube is it ment to stiffen up at first and then loosen up or not?

  • just loosens right away, there isn't any stiffness that I've experienced with this lube.

  • question: what lube or lube combination would you recommend for a white type a speed cube?

  • i bought my jig-a-loo when it fist came out and its really old when i spray it in my cube i noticed that its not as good as it was is it possible for lubricant to expire?

  • I guess it's possible, but I wonder if there isn't something else going on? Perhaps you are applying too much?

  • Does the paint come off when i use crc on a painted diansheng?

  • it absolutely will take the paint off if you get overspray on the painted edges. You can always sticker over it though.

  • i like disassembled it and sprayed it does it still lock up? it didnt for me..

  • the temporary lockups are a result of the propellant and usually go away once it evaporates. Since it has long evaporated by the time you re assemble your cube you don't experience it with the disassemble method

  • and does the CRC supposed to smell like WD40?

  • i got a CRC 5.56 multi-purpose spray.. i dunno if i should spray it in my cube.. CAN ANY1 HELP???????

  • if u use the cube lube do u still have to use it outside?

  • if you mean the injectable stuff no. Jig A Loo and CRC are definetly ones to use outside.

  • lol i applied jig a loo yesterday in my cube and i think i sprayed too much. i sprayed like 2 sprays on ever edge of the cube and when i checked my cube the next day by opening it up the plastic peices in the insde are cracked but they still work

  • I don't think it has to do with the amount, some cubes do this when Jig A Loo'd. Rubiks store bought and JSK come to mind.

  • I think you guys prounounce "Dien Sheng" wrong. I think I just spelled it wrong....

  • i just bought jig a loo and a video i saw it melted or disinigraded the plastic. if it ever comes down to that, what should i do??

  • You should be able to avoid this if you:

    1) DON'T over spray Jig A Loo

    2) DON'T allow it to pool around your cubies

    3) Work it in for at least two minutes after application

    4) see our video 2cubelubes and 2 application techniques for visual aid if necessary.

  • nice video! but i have a question, i just bought a cube and lubed it with oil, it turns great but locks up sometimes. so i was thinking of cleaning out my rubiks cube and buying one of the lubricants used in your video . what should i get jigaloo or crc? please reply :)

  • Depends on the cube, I assume you mean a store bought so either one will work good. Jig A Loo will cause cracks to develop but to this date I've never had a store bought break because of this. Nevertheless you have to be careful with CRC and Jig A Loo. Remeber to use OUTSIDE (and a respirator isn't a bad idea) and be careful not to get the lubricants on your stickers unless you have replacements available.

  • thanks :)

  • This was a really helpful vid. I am gonna suscribe now :P

  • people say you can buy crc at walmart, can you tell me where in the store i would find it?

  • automotive, on the motor oil aisle probably

  • the crc locks it up for like a day because it has petroleum distillants in it. It melts the plastic initialy and also can remove your stickers>

  • Actually the effects you desribe are probablly caused by the propellant and expire after it evaporates.

Petroleum distillants are often maligned, learn more by googling petroleum distillants facts and myths

  • so I must set the silicone spray in the cube and then I rotate and I are the same ... and he is good. or is that not so? please give me answer!

  • I will shoot a video of my lubrication technique, and post tomorrow or next day that way you can just see it.

  • oke thanks!

  • thanks

  • you guys rock

  • i would never use silicon lube like that. The best way to do it is to do a complete dsasemble, arrange the pieces and spray them all, wait for it to dry. Then reassemble and it will be soooo smooth. Never spray silicon into the core cos it can glue it together and makes it sticky.

  • I have used this method as well, but it takes forever and I've not knowingly expreienced any long term ill effects of this. However I do think your point may have merit and it sounds like we need to do a experiment with two identical cubes lubed with each method and the tested for performance over time.... So many videos to make.... So litlle time

  • hey guys i thought I would just share some info about teh puzzle pros lube. The lube wears off so fast because it creates a coat of grease over the cubies therefore making it vital to break the cube in right away after useage. Thanksfor the cool vids!

  • I think that, the amount of time it takes for a Lubricant to wear off depends on the cuber. I am a "rigouris" Cuber and I do around 30-40 solves a day. And I see myself lubing my Main DIY Around once a week. Mainly because I use the cube so much that the lube wears off. So it really depends.

  • i'm ganna buy some crc and or jig-a-loo i hope it's not expensive

  • Jig A Loo cost me $4.15 a can at Home Depot

CRC costs about $1.25 at Wal Mart

  • thanks. I couldn't find anything in my local wal-mart, but found some Jig A Loo for $3.17 at my Home Depot today.

It's already doing wonders to my 2 year old Wal Mart cube, now I can actually twist it using my finger rather giving my hand a workout. I can't believe I have been solving this thing forever w/o any lube!

  • I've found that vaseline is good for braking low quality cubes, like store bought ones. Then I've cleaned out the cubes after a few months & lubricated with CRC. They turn out pretty good.

But I would never put it in a DIY!

  • Totally agreed.

  • yup it melts the platic so its smoother

  • I will make an annotation. And thanks for the void cube disassemble video it rocks!

  • i think the only thing vaselline is good for is storeboughts. storeboughts suck so much that sillicone wont even help it
