  • Weird Way to end this album, it should have wanted had a faster track in the end, or a song like space truckin at the end

  • @jamirosmajicrocks It didn't end an album, wasn't on one originally, though it may have been added to the CD as a bonus track.

  • @paganuspaul Oh funny, i had a new version, never knew it was an added track.

it actually did end with space trucking ha.

  • so much heart n soul !

  • Dammit Richie! Damn!

  • Thank you for posting this! Rock Music Group Inadaze/Chad.

  • jao covece

  • Great, criminally underrated song - I'm very glad that this is now readily available in the CD reissues etc of Machine Head. Also, Steve Morse plays this beautifully live with the current line-up... stunning.

  • @currymusodave Yes, and also played very well by Steve Morris in Gillan's solo band.

  • najbolja balada

  • ΠΟΙΟΙ ΝΑΝΑΙ ΟΙ 75 ΜΑΛΑΚΕΣ ΑΡΑΓΕ. ΝΑΙ!! ΤΖΑΤΖΙΚΙ ΣΟΥΒΛΑΚΙ

  • If you 're leaving, close the door

    I'm not expecting people anymore

    Happy Birthday babe

  • Blackmore may not care for this song, but his solo is gorgeous & bluesy. Love it.

  • Jedna z najpiękniejszych ballad świata

  • DIVINE!!

    MARINÊS

  • always liked purple, didnt know alot of them, but thought they were good old band, watched a classic rock doco one night which ended with this song, somehow had never heard it before. I was stoned and this shit sent shivers up my spine, arguably the most spine tingling solo ive ever heard! still goes right through me!!! btw child in time is an equally awesome song!

  • How can Richie not like this ??

  • @adooradoor4you I can,t understand either. Once he said, he didn,t want the audience to go asleep.

  • Kakav bend....stvarno su veliki sviraci i veliki umetnici....

  • fucking legend

  • this ones for lori , . . . dec7th 2011

  • I'm glad Guns N' Roses have been inducted into "Rock N' Roll Hall Of Fame", but it's a REAL SHAME" it lacks with Deep Purple!!!!! Deep Purple are more rock and roll than Guns N' Roses and Red Hot put together!!!!

  • @stradlin62 hell even abba and maddona have gotten into the RRHF before purple and alot of great bands such as iron maiden judas preist kiss black sabbath rush and many others that i cbf writing down lol its really just ridiculous and fucked

  • jedna od najboljih balada ikada

  • @zivulj1 Nije jedna nego najbolja balada svih vremena...Kad preved stvar tada ces shvatit sta je ovo :)Zivio Deep

  • Jedna z najcudniejszych ballad świata, nie do zapomnienia, jedyna wersja.Nie wyobrażam sobie świata bez muzyki i bez tego utworu.

  • Never before promo video....

  • Its a crime to not like this song. This is one of the greatest songs ever written - with heart, and with talent. Everyone should listen to this. I now listen mostly to death and some thrash metal, but I listen to this gladly always when i can. This song reminds me for the true, great and unshared love.

  • 75 regaaetoneros se equivocaron de pagina

jajajja que asco son una plaga!!

  • This song has the same feeling to it as Sonata arcticas ballads and other power metal bands ballads. i love it so much

  • utwór wszechczasów!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 75 ppl are blind and thats why they missed the like button

  • @Straits84 Come'on. How can you compare Ritchie and Steve Morse ? Can you realise the difference between Maserati and Suzuki anyway ? Both are cars... When RB left, they have lost THE composer (inventor), so the songs after him are just good average rock songs. Nothing else. There is no spirit anymore in the music. If there is no composer in the group, only musicians, that's not enough. So, I would not call DP it, after Ritchie left, but I know it is a business....

  • Like this part 0:00 - 3:29 :D

  • 'Had a friend once, in a room..

Had a good time but it ended much to soon..'

The way he sings it.. oh, it makes me wanna cry

  • love it

  • 74 deaf people

  • Ian Gillan one of the gratest

  • This song did not appear on the original machine head pressing

  • best song of the album i think

  • There is so many people that like Led Zeppelin than Deep Purple. I think that Deep Purple was as good as Led Zeppelin or even better.

  • the instrumental in this song is almost zeppelin-esque

  • Love this track, unlike Blackmore who hated it, which is why it didnt make the album, also there may have been a bit of poetic licence with the choice of video for it, although 10/10 to Rainbow301 for posting it!

  • my favourite colours are black sabbath and deep purple

  • it staggers and scares me that there is ANYBODY who could possibly dislike this

  • fake this solo if you can

  • wow..was this supposed to be on Machine Head???...why wasn't it?? it would've been great as the last song on a one of the best rock albums of all time...this blew me away!!!!!!!

  • Also, ich bin weder blind noch taub. das ist eins meiner Lieblingsstücke von Deep Purple, und es hat mir auf Single besser gefallen als die A-Seite "Never before"

  • OMG!!! WAAW !!! my dad just saw a deep Purple-documentary,and mentioned this classic...i'm quite ashamed, but must admit that i didn't know this song... but now i do, and i will love it forever and ever!!! The lyrics are truely SO deep and beautiful! This is one of those few songs that still has got a "soul" !!!

  • thanks for posting this. I find myself coming here quite often to see the pics and & LOVE this song!

  • Best ballad ever!!

  • Classic....what more to say................

  • used to be dads favourite song next to another brick in the wall by pink floyd before he passed away . always get nostalgic when i hear it , timeless music

  • Pure beauty

  • I like this song "W a B C"

  • One of DPs top ten for sure :)

  • Guilty pleasure. I Cried like a baby

  • it has the moust deeply words!!!! you'll see oll your life!!!!! like a blind man!!!

  • epic!

  • I just don't get it. How the fuck does natural selection explain the fact that my eyes well up when I hear the sound of the electric guitar? Fuck. What the hell does it have to do with anything? It doesn't even sound like weeping, whatever George Harrison has to say on this matter. Why the fuck do I find this damned sound so fucking beautiful?

  • from the heart

  • wow, ritch didnt like it because it was about him i believe

  • @rmf09024 maybe, i also know this from the DVD, but that for, he did a great job here, i allways say ;) Steve Morse is also a great guitar player, but this Song, the newer live versions are not..hm, i only like this version, its intensity is unique.

  • @ClaptonDennis blackmore has a way of getting to you when he plays like no other guitarist, he is not affraid to voice his opinion and doesn't hold back his thoughts, this is why he is probably the greatest guitarist ever, just remember there are a bunch of people who kind of sounds like blackmore but blackmore sounds like no one, he is the true genius here

  • @rmf09024 Well, he's amazing. But remember he's the sole reason this song was hardly played at all live. He didn't like this song, but the rest of the band played it on shows when he was sick and they used a replacement.

  • @damillionmalania he never played this song, actually it never was released on a record i believe but what can you say

  • @rmf09024 It was released on a B side...which kind of speaks for itself. :) If I had written this song I would have praised it night and day and spent every nickle I had on getting it out in the belief that the masses would buy any record I'd make as long as this song was on it...it's just that amazingly good.

  • woow man its so good

  • Супер!Лубимият ми састаж.Обойажам песните им и мога да ги слусхам безкраино пати.

  • @ivcheto912

Като са ти любими поне по-грамотно да го беше написала това.

  • The sound of the guitar is really beautiful and reaches the depths of my being! On the other hand, the interpretation of Ian, spectacular as always!!!!!!

  • 72 blind people now.......what a great ballad

  • @flymancanada ja du sa det mann.. For en suveren ballade!

They are both blind and deaf)))))

  • OH my god Richie blackmore the greatest

  • nice audio quality on this vid.

  • Great Tune, I never get tired of listening to this one. Great Feel!

  • Ritchie Blackmore perfecto, fino, y elegante.

Seguramente, de las mejores baladas de los Purple.

  • awsome track, love it

  • Love this song!

  • Thank God that people in past made such a great music, so we could now be able to educate ourselves with things like this. God knows where we'd be now if we listened to music made today!

  • if you dont understand of music then dont vote. I never thought that 72 people will disliked this song. God Help them

  • Possibly one of the most under-rated Deep Purple tunes. Absolutely one of my all time faves.

  • i saw them in athens.they were good for their age and with the present line up.i think morse was great but he didn't comprare with Ritchie

  • Comment removed

  • @ivankotipelto jaja si..asi es...para llorar o morir...temazooo!

  • Con una botella de wisky a un lado y un revolver al otro.....

  • "Child in time" and "When a blind man cries" are my absolute favorites from Deep Purple - played it many times :) (drums - memories)

  • bir grup neden klasik olur işte kanıtı

  • sangat menyentuh,..

  • now this is what music is all about...it has heart and soul and gets ya right down to the core :o)

  • "If you're leaving close the door: I'm not expecting people anymore": I think this is one of the saddest lyrics in all rock music history. Gillian's voice makes me shiver everytime I hear it.

  • well i think the 71 dislikes must have no sense of music i know it is not one of purples heaviest songs but very moving it is !

  • ...71 people are totaly deaf...i am sorry for them...

  • bas zbog ovakvih glupih komentara "ko ne voli ovo majka mu je kurva " i ima ovoliko dislajkova evo i ja sam kliknuo na dislike iako je pjesma vrh, slusajte pjesmu i uzivajte kreteniii

  • love this song, one of my faves

  • A shame Richie didn't like this song. Think it is one of the best songs of DP, and one of the best ballads ever made.

  • I really love this song first time i heard it didn't realise who it was by. Wow Brilliant

  • Wonderful!!!

  • Aaaarrrggghhhh...stupid 70 people^^

  • THANK'S GOD for this diabolic creation, I love Rock!!!!!

  • I would spend hours listening to the guitar solo! and of course the voice of Ian Gillan. I love this song! ... and I loved the video, too!!

  • I would really like to hear a constructive answer/criticism from one of the people who disliked the song, as to why would one not like this song.

  • Does anyone know for sure why this got scrapped from the album (originally)? Ian Gillan commented on it in an interview briefly and i think he said that Ritchie didn't want it on the album but I'm not sure, fill me in if you know

  • @57250tr: Richie didn't want a ballad or another ballad on Machine Head. For the record, I love this song, but it sounds a lot like "Child in Time," so I wonder if that had something to do with it.

  • nice solo from 1:20 :d

  • This is the only rock song which can make me cry. The only one.

  • @Brainthrasher This is Blues

  • @Brainthrasher You are not the only one....me 2

  • Are you a blind man?

  • @AlbatrossDude no, but this song should be dedicated to all blind people.

  • @Brainthrasher Agreed!

  • @Brainthrasher Are you sure? Can I challenge you? ;) Ever heard "When the crowds are gone" by Savatage? The ending of that song always brings a tear to my eye.

  • @4youk no, this is a single is not in album machine head! And is no live versions!!!

  • Deep Purple... Enough said..

  • some live version of this around 1972?

  • @4youk Because Ritchie Blackmore disliked it, deep purple never played "When a Blind Man Cries" live during the 70's, with the exception of one occasion, on April 6, 1972 in Quebec, Canada, when Blackmore was ill, and replaced for one gig by Randy California.
