You know, when she died she left behind a seed that Tails plants. + she's part of a race of beigns who are plat-like. Now, I haven't really watched this anime yet, but if there ever is a fourth season, wouldn't there be a possibility she "grows" back to life? Not to be too optimistic about it.

So if you think about this way, 5 years isn't long. It's taken Ghost in the Shell that much and more to talk about a 3rd gig, and now it might come out in spring 2011. Even FMA sat for a while before brotherhood was mentioned. If that weren't enough, Trigun waited decades to get its own movie...
