Personally my favorite was Edward Van Sloan from the Universal movies, but Cushing is a VERY close second and I also like Finlay and Olivier's versions too. But Hugh's one wasn't just bad for being Hugh's poor man's version of his Wolverine, but he was an example of the 21st century's style of having a self-proclaimed action hero despite the fact he was actually quite incompetent in the film. That one only did something right when the villains messed up and needed CGI. Cushing didn't need that.

That's what I like about Peter's rendition of Van Helsing. He's so energetic and moving about during combat.
