this video seriously saved my life. ava is a high needs baby and being a single mother, i dont have many options for affordable carriers. but i did have an extra sheet laying around my apt!!
Thank you for posting this video. I wanted to make a baby wrap but ended up buying the wrong material. Instead of getting a stretchy cotton material or stretch jersey (which I did not see in the store) I ended up buying a regular cotton material. In addition, I bought 6 meters of it and didn't know what to do with it.
But after searching the net, I came across your video and it hit me that I could use the material that I bought, cut it in half and use it as a pouch sling.
OMG!! thank you sooo much for this video... im a first time mom and my baby sling was in the dryer and i couldnt get my son to calm down (basically shut up) so i tried this and it works... your a life saver
I thought I was responding favourably to this comment made by another poster a year ago "great video, but don't like the comment about baby shut up. Crying is the baby way of communication."
you may like to scroll back and see where it occurs on the thread. :-)
@BabyontheWear Yes.. well she did say "when your baby just won't shut up" at 0:07 into the video So I don't see what your comment is regarding to saying that she didn't say that. She did say that. People did get offended. So why are you saying that is not what she said?
"Also, please kindly understand that I happened to turn away from the camera just as I was saying “fussy baby;” the audio of that statement isn’t very clear and some have thought I might have said something else. OK, you may watch now."
quoted from the Majic City Slinger'sword press blog.
I thought the other poster was remarking on what she may have misheard the demonstrator saying.
I didn't think this was easy at all. Everyone says it is.. am I the only one who found this to be so difficult that it was really irritating? The knot is impossible because sheets don't tie or slide that easily.. maybe I'm just dense, but this was not easy at all for me and I followed the instructions exactly and tried 3 different sheets trying to make it work right. Couldn't do it. Gave up after an hour.
@xjohnnaxrussellx Please see the slip knot videos for further assistance. I am sorry you had so much trouble with it, It was a little tricky my first time doing it.
that is so smart! i was thinging about sewing one. but i have no machine and this looks way easier! i have a sheet and plus you can leave the knot in and use the sheet once baby is too big! thank you soo omuch for sharing this!
@BabyontheWear Considering I was the one taking the video and there at the meeting.. I know exactly what she said and fussy is what she said and no one that has commented thus far has said any differently so I am not sure exactly what your comment was moving towards besides insinuating otherwise which I find offensive that you are assuming that I "think" I heard anything to the contrary of what she said.
while crying is the baby's way of communicating... it is still true that sometimes a baby just won't be quiet, or "shut up"... that's why they have ways of dealing with colicky babies and purple crying... because a baby cry is one of the most nerve racking things in the world... I have 2 kids, and while I don't tell them to shut up, that is how I feel sometimes.... shouldn't be so sensitive, that's how she expressed herself, it's still good info. Thank you, kolohabreeze, for posting!!!
I love this video! Thankyou for posting it! AND teaching it to other mothers! I'm a parent educator and a mother of a 2 month old and can't wait to pass on this valuable inexpensive information! YAY
cool post!!! i think this is the first non-sewn sling i've seen on here. maybe you should remake the video and show how to lock off the knot at the end. the more people that comment, the further back your extra tip gets pushed...and that tip sounds very important.

I don't believe it was a serious comment. If it was I wouldn't have posted it.

@kalohabreeze
The woman in the video said on a message board that what she said was a 'fussy' baby not the other kind that you think you heard. ;-)

Thanks!
Also I need to note that with the slipknot, you need to lock the knot after adjusting :)

super cool! you could SAVE THE DAY by helping a FUSSY BABY CALM DOWN! make your own sling, without cutting or sewing, with a bed sheet.
