why didn't i know of this band when they were THIS AWESOME live? i'm 18 today, when was this? was i even allowed to get in? would feel better if i didn't ;P atleast i didn't have the money to go :P
@daleeross out of their prime?....com' on i mean i dont want to sound rude but..they are in their thirties...i think they have just mature ...and you know they say our voice ends maturing until we are thirty something...
Their new album builds on the different layers that is Muse. Sure their music is hard hitting and mesmeric, floating pefectly between the line of hard rock and almost at times trance music; but I find their new albums goes into a more melodic, more musical core that makes up the very nature that is Muse. Resistance isn't hard hitting. Their fast songs have very simple riffs and very little electric guitar solos, it is heavy synth. But if you look at songs like MK Ultra and Unnatural Selection
they build their own rights of places Muse has rarely gone. Eerie or trippy starts where you go on a journey with the music rather than just have the lyrics stuck in your head. It's that kind of music that make songs like Bliss here stick out. The freakin pulse to the song. It's not that Muse isn't the same, it's that they're album breathes a little different.
Plus it's Matt freakin Bellamy. Even if the guitar parts are simple, when he plays it live he mixes it up, adds solos and retarded dive bombs or harmonic distrotion rings that make it sound that much more chaotic, real and in your face Muse.
@sarahlynn97 HOW INTERESTING! You were there and it sucked? Man! This gig seemed awesome, but obviously just on video. I was at a gig last year which everybody finds awesome, but i didn't. So maybe it's the video who puts in awesomly that makes it awesome? if you know what i mean ;P

OMG I LOVE MUSE! Cannot believe I lived all my 15 years without having heard ANY of their songs until I just stumbled upon them sampling Radiohead songs on Amazon. Oh yeah first to comment :D. And you have to love the way Matt Bellamy just performs with reckless abandon.

A band of this quality comes along once in 20+ years. I am astounded at the sound they produce.

I've lost a lot of respect for Muse because of their new release. They used to be my fav band, now they seem to have become... stale

It's just an Ibanez Iceman, I don't think he really ever uses them, which is why he probably gave them away.

I think it's great-really raw sounding which we just don't get any more:( I would love to have seen them back then when they were less polished.

its so weird to see bellamy playing without one of his mansons, not that it does anything to the song, just strange..... great performance though
