  • 42. Done.

  • It probably depends on the day of the week that it's asked... If it's Monday.. it probably sucks! If it's Friday.. it's probably pretty good!

  • HELL yeah! Amen to that.

  • Life is like a box of choco...

    Sorry, that's something else...

Life is finding that special someone to go through it with. Whether your 20 or 80, doesn't matter... at least once in your life you should have that. The rest... you put up with the bad and be thankful for the good and shouldn't hate anyone. I was told once 'God is love'. I think some people need to remember that.

Sorry I am behind on videos Curt. I do like watching yours.

  • Thank you! Never any need to apologize around here. These things are up for being viewed whenever.

    :-)

You have a very healthy outlook, I say. I even enjoyed the Gumpism, LOL

  • Oh the Robert Blake story... UGH!

You were spared, trust me. If you Google him, I'm sure the reference here will be the first thing you stumble upon.

And I knew I liked the Buddhists for a reason!

    :o)

  • To quote George Carlin, "When your dog dies you get another one don't ya? You just keep getting another one don't ya? That's the secret of life. Life is a series of dogs."

  • Hahaha - well, my cats might have a thing or two to say about that, but I won't argue with ya.

    ;-)

  • James Taylor wrote "the secret of life is enjoying the passage of time, any fool can do it, there aint nothin to it...everyone knows that love is the only road...since we're only here for a while we might as show some style..." but I sure as hell plan on staying away from Blake and OJ.

  • LOL - nice finish to your James Taylor cover there.

    ;-D

    Yeah, Taylor's a smart guy.

Blake and OJ... not so much...

  • I love that you respond to comments. I like you.

  • No one can grasp the meaning of life until he or she has confronted death directly, up close and personal. When you have someone, whose presence in your life is central to your life, die in your presence and you get to see and feel that experience, and over time the significance of their absence begins to register in your psyche, then, and only then, will you begin to understand what life is. This I know from personal experience.

  • Nobody could write those words without having lived it first hand.

    *Thank you for sharing this*

  • The meaning of life is what you make it. Another great video, thanks Curt! :o)

  • Thank you!

    :-)

  • That was cool. It made me smile. Lovely video. Take care. :)

  • Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed.

    :-)

  • that was areally cool little lake ,things are starting to bloom her today daffodils and the dreaded forsythia not sure thats how you spell it,but it make me sneeze.:P

  • Forsythia - yeah, that's it. It was named after John Forsyth, the actor who played Blake Carrington on "Dynasty" in the 80s.

I read that on the Internet somewhere, so it has to be true!

  • Didnt know that, learned something knew today cool:)

  • LOL - I love this!!

  • That's a VERY tough one Curt! Life should provide everyone his/her own meaningful existance...I think.

  • Exactly, Jeroen. I agree.

Still figuring my answer out from one day to the next.

    Probably always will be.

  • Phallic patterns, lol!

I don't know the answer to your question Curt which I have pondered many a time. All I can say is this... LIFE IS GOOD!

  • Right on, Norman!

    :-D

  • what ever happened to Robert Blake? was he ever found guilty?

  • He was acquitted on the murder trial, but lost in civil court. After being ordered to pay somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 million(?), he then filed for bankruptcy (according to the last report I read).

    Fun guy!

  • Good job Curt!

  • Thanks! Long time no see. I thought you had up and left the 'Tube.

    :-)

  • I did, But Im slowly returning one way or another. Not sure when or if I'll ever make vids again as I did before, But I do want to watch vids now and again. Hope youre well :)

  • I'm still around. Not just a lot. I should make some new vids...

  • you go girl

  • De ja vu.

  • all over again!! my comments didn't post on your last couple of vids-just testing-thanks for responding-seems to be working much better

  • The commenting system goes through "fits" I've noticed. For a while there I was only seeing comments posted as recent as 2 hours prior.

It also reacts weirdly to certain words or phrases, though who can tell what those are at any given moment.

  • the meaning of life?? so I take that to mean the purpose of my life :) in which case my answer would be: The meaning and purpose of our existence is to know the absolute reality of LOVE, LIFE and TRUTH, which brings JOY, PEACE, and FREEDOM.

I'm not as dumb as I look huh??? lol

    (((IMISSYOUSHOT)))

  • P.S. I loved the blossoming Cherry Tree's. I can't wait until mine starts to blossom, except mine is a weeping cherry tree so imagine the same tree but it's in a kind of "fucked up state of mind" lol :)

    (((whatcanisayshot)))

  • (((commentingwhileinsomniaticshot)))

I'm all for joy, peace and freedom! But the weeping cherries sound messy.

They also sound like a punk rock band... which is probably even more messy.

It's 3am here. Why am I trying to respond NOW??!!

    Love you.

    I'm tired.

    zzzzzzzz

  • I think the meaning of life can be found in Begley's Best...

  • St. Elsewhere?

  • or a snow globe...

  • LOL - Same difference.

  • Al's answer was quite profound. Curt you are such a pragmatist! LOL!!!! Thanks for sharing the colorful blossoms and the park! Winter still is having a relentless grip here. I see the spring fashions there are "colorful" too. ha,ha!

  • Darl, I confess I had to look up 'pragmatist' just to refresh myself of the definition. Of course, I could have kept this to myself, but I figure the truth would come out eventually anyway.

    ;-)

Sorry to hear that winter isn't giving up without a fight over there. Mother Nature needs to relax a bit, IMO.

    *BUNDLE UP!*

  • Awesome vid, Curt! I spent lot's of time thinking about this, but I think it's impossible to come out with the clear answer. Everyone defines the meaning of life for himself.

  • Thanks, Michael. Yeah, I think it's important for everyone to decide what their own individual answer is and not just sign up for whatever someone else is selling. Seems like people lose out when they do.

  • What a nice vid, I love the blossoming tress and the bit of humor there about the dress was a nice add in. Oh and his opinion was spot on! Ha get it?? " Spot on! " *da dant dant ting* Goes the drums. hehe, yeaaa the weirdo is back ;)

  • WELCOME BACK! Does this mean you'll be vlogging again? Gary and I were talking about you recently, saying how much we missed you getting on cam to talk about what was on your mind.

    Seriously.

    :-)

  • MIKMA WAS HERE

  • And hopefully not dropping any pizzas.

    ;-)

  • Oh Curt I've missed so many videos but I'm glad I caught this one. Been off for a while - thinking of jumping ship and quitting altogether. I'll let you know if I do. But it's always GOOD TO SEE YOU!! Hope you're well.

  • TonyDi: I could tell you were due for another break from the 'Tube. It's healthy to take a step back from time to time. This place will continue to be here in one form or another and I hope you don't close down completely. Whatever you decide, though, I respect your need to prioritize.

    Gotta do whatcha gotta do.

And, yeah, I'm doing good here. Hope you're in an upswing at your end too.

    :-)

  • the answer is 42

  • Long live Douglas Adams!

    :-D

  • My meaning of life is to be happy and make others happy when i reach my own happiness!

Everybody haves a different purpose and for that a different meaning of their existence.

  • Felix, I like your definition. The benefit to spreading that kind of good will is that it ultimately comes back your way.

BTW, I hope you don't mind that I featured your latest photography video on my channel page. I found it compelling and thought it deserved a little more exposure... that might be a photography pun (shutter the thought!).

  • No probleme, i fell honored! I'm happy you enjoyed it! Thanks!

  • I gave up trying to figure it all out. It's all too random to make any sense of life...

  • Life is random.

    Life is a cereal.

    Therefor cereal is random.

    Unless it's sugar free...

In which case, it's just utterly pointless.

  • Unless like me you're diabetic which makes both cereal and sugar a bad idea...

  • 42!

So maybe the meaning of life is just LIFE! thats it nothing but life.

Why worry about something that we will never figure out, and wouldn't know what to do with even if we did.

  • Excellent point! Besides, it takes away valuable time from important things like eating ice cream and nagging Warner Brothers to release "Knots Landing" on DVD.

  • I don't know what the meaning of life is, but I sure like to see trees in bloom. :)

  • Same here. I just fudge my answer to this one every chance I get.

And, yep, the site of trees blooming is symbolic of how cyclical life is.

OOPS! Did I just throw out a REAL answer??

Yikes, I think I sprained something!

  • The meaning of life = Dale Beaverman!

  • Was he on "Knots Landing"?

    ...no?

    Pfft!

  • hahaha Curt, I thought for sure you would get this one :) My all-time favorite quote of a movie...St. Elmo's Fire. I still use it from time to time the second a person says "the meaning of life"... I know it's outdated, but that's how I roll, baby!

  • Oh wow, this is why I should have seen that movie at some point.

Seriously, I never got around to seeing it.

Not a very good child of the 80s, now, AM I? LOL

  • Not at all. Don't you know the Brat Pack movies were all a must for us all!?

  • I was distracted by my unnatural lust for prime time soap dramas.

    :-D

  • hahaha So was I! I would not stay late at hula because I would miss Beverly Hills 90210. And if anyone called during Melrose, they were pretty much dead ;)

  • To my mind, the meaning of life is to find a reason and a purpose that transcends mere survival.

  • TERRY, it's good to see your user name pop up.

Couldn't agree more with your sentiment!

Hope all is well at your end.

    :-)

  • With the exception of a nasty cold and a whole stew way too much work, I'm doing great. By the way, thanks for asking.

    See ya soon!

  • Your stuff is always awesome.

  • BOOBIES!

    8-D

  • hi bro!

  • Yo, Stetson!

    ;-)~

  • Great video, Curt. This provokes a lot of thought. I think everyone has their own meaning of life. Life is what we make of it. :)

  • Different answer for every person walking around (or, in my case today, sitting on their butt).

    :-D

  • excellent video as always....and good PSA at the end. Such a generous vlogger you are. :)

  • Thanks! I'm trying to educate and inform.

    ;-)

  • LOL at don't marry Robert Blake! Great video you two. Are those cherry blossom trees? Beautiful. -Jim

  • I think they are, Jim. Al told me what they were at one point, but the information immediately spilled out onto a duck.

    8-)

  • very thought provoking.

  • Thanks!

    :o)

  • The meaning of life to me is to LOVE, learn, and accept. Simply to enjoy life to the best of your ability.

  • This is good: the Three L's (if "accept" is tranformed into "live with it!" I guess, LOL).

  • L's are good.

  • Life has a meaning to it? There are over 6.5 Billion answers to that!

    Love the lake, so pretty!!

  • That's too many answers.

    TIME FOR ICE CREAM!!

  • Nice! I think the meaning of life is to enjoy every moment and admire all the beauty around us, which is what you guys seemed to be doing that lovely day out. ♥

  • It was gorgeous, Vicky. I almost felt guilty showing it on camera given what most of the rest of you are currently contending with.

  • The meaning of life is what you make of it. It's whether it has meaning to you that counts - I guess. That and having a witness of course.

  • Did anyone else see you write this, Danny?

    Because if not...!

Yeah, I'm not sure what that comment is about either. Hey, it's almost noon, I don't have class today, and I keep putting off a shower. Is my brain supposed to function TOO? YEESH!

  • the thing with the meaning of life is... just when you think you know it, it changes ;) And yes, it's all about vibes and waves and good junk like that. ((curt))

  • It's like when ABC moved Mork & Mindy from Thursday nights to Sunday, and Laverne & Shirley from Tuesdays to Thursdays. We had JUST figured out what worked and they went and mucked it up.

Things were never the same after that.

    *heavy sigh*

  • I love that you even remember those shows. ::pets:: Good night John boy.

  • hmmm, who really knows. The point is, just make the most of it.

  • YES! For instance, right now I'm sitting on my ass answering comments.

I was thinking of taking a shower...

    Eh.

  • It was a vagina with a womb--inverted phallus if you will.

  • Is that it? Wow, that was quite extensive (and largely unnecessary) reconstructive surgery!

  • its all about the vibes.

  • Hey, that works. I prefer the good vibes, but the bad ones at least offer contrast.

  • I'm not sure what it is...

but i'm pretty sure it doesn't have anything to do with that dark lower region, on the young lady. =P

  • I sure hope it doesn't. It looks like Disneyland exploded on the poor girl!

  • I'll bet Robert Blake knows the meaning of life.

  • And only he and his attorney know the truth.

    ;-)

  • You got it all wrong..."it's to see just how many vlogs you can make before you die"

  • And with as many times per day as some folks around here upload, clearly that's a shared viewpoint.

    8-|

  • "like that's a bad thing". ROFLMAO. damn straight.....i mean, damn...um, damn, right curtlet!

  • LOL thanks!

  • If we ever found out what the meaning of life actually was, i expect we'd all be a bit disappointed.

Part of the fun of life is not knowing & just making it up as you go along :)

  • Sort of like the little man behind the curtain in The Wizard of Oz. Yeah, I think you're right, Andy. We're better off not knowing.

  • Meaning of life for me is to survive it and learn all it has to offer you.. That's about it lol

  • And that's pretty much my strategy as well.

    :-)

  • i am still trying to find the meaning..everytime i think I found it...I find something else :o)

  • Well it keeps changing email addresses and cell phone plans, so it's hard to keep track of.

    ;-)

  • "That's pretty good" LoL

  • If only my report cards had been so complimentary during my high school days...

  • Ha ha! "Don't marry Robert Blake"! That very well could be the meaning of life. In my opinion, there is no "meaning" to life itself but there can be meaning in a well-lived life. I think the meaning of one's life isn't known until it's over. In this way, i think we can all life to give life what meaning we so desire.

  • Yeah, I'm in no rush to figure the whole thing out either. At least not until all of "Knots Landing" is released on DVD. I'd be pissed if Warner Brothers finally coughed up the goods after I died!

  • Good sense of perspective, Curt.

  • Love the Robert Blake jab at the end!

  • I'm sure those who won the civil case against him would have appreciated it as well.

    Blake... not so much.

    ;-)

  • Gawd that was phallic! You and Al always leave me grinning! :D :D

  • :-D

Actually, we're still not completely sure what it was about, but apparently that costume and photo shoot had something to do with some sort of pop culture sensation coming out of Japan.

Some random stranger told us this, and since I had no idea what her credentials were, I didn't bother recording her.

  • Interesting. Something is always coming out of Japan.

  • Right. Always have a witness. - roc

  • A witness AND some ice cream.

Ice cream might be more important.

  • Great Video Curt... =)

  • Thanks, fucka!

    8-D

  • Don't marry Blake ~ hysterical. :)

  • Not sure he'd be laughing if he stumbled on this one.

    ;-)

  • LOL @ always have a witness! Great vid Curt as always!

  • Thanks, Lisa.

BTW, I'm still hungry after watching your cooking video. And this is after two late night snacks and a breakfast.

What have you done to me??!

  • To understand its meaning, I think we first must define its origin. Once the origin of life is understood, we might be able to understand its purpose.

  • Ooh, I like this!! The origin of life is something that continues to be debated.

    Probably always will be, actually.

    Great answer!

  • Well it's not really an answer as much as it is another question. I just think that we need to ask the right questions in the right order, to get the right answer.

  • why am I living in chicago?

  • For the rich culture and artistic inspiration?

    For the cost of living??

    For the LULZ???

  • Oh to be a dog and not worry about such things...what I would give! Great video!

  • Thanks! And now that you mention it, I didn't see too many dogs at the park that day.

    Hmmm...

  • That's because they were curled up in some 50.00 snuggle bed with a full bowl of food and Iams sitting right next to them!

  • Agreed...don't marry Robert Blake or OJ Simpson.

  • There are some men who just don't make for good husbands, try as they may...!

    ;-)

  • I love Al's take on it...yes and yes!!! I think that people try to complicate things so very much to the point that they never enjoy every single day in front of them. And yeah...you know I used to really like Robert Blake....hehe Note to self: no more!

  • It's a funny coincidence that around the time of a certain person's untimely demise, sales for season 1 DVD sets of a certain cop show began to drop a bit.

    Hmmmmm...!

Of course, I can't get that theme song out of my head.

  • Linus: "The reason we are here is to make others happy."

Lucy: "Somebody's not doing his job!!!"

Lovely day at the park, and very important warning about parking in the alley behind Vitello's. Now, if you'll excuse me, I think I forgot my gun inside the restaurant. I'm going back in to get a glass of water. Sit right there...

  • Can you pick up an order of Black Pepper Taralli to go, please? I just know I'll be in the mood for a midnight snack later!

    8-)

  • omg that was ssooo beautiful that i am going to have to go back and watch this video because i totally missed what was being said. i was just too into the atmosphere. so calming

  • I'd say in this case, what we were talking about is probably secondary to the visuals.

Calming is good! I'm glad you liked.

    :-)

  • This was slightly lost on me until I asked Lesley to explain - between mouthfulls of flapjack I got that Robert Blake rode a Burretto (like in Easy Rider I guess) and used to say "I could kill for a pasta" or something like that - right?

  • That's a much more interesting version than the one I found on Wikipedia.

    So I vote YES!

    ;-)

  • What a beautiful day!!! Thanks, Grams

  • I'm reluctant to brag too much about the weather, but I confess it's hard not to point my camera lens at it.

  • Hi Curt!!

It's great to see you! I have missed you! Where you been? Or is it me that's been off and about? LOL :0)

The blooming trees are just beautiful!

  • (((JG2)))

Yeah, I've been on here less lately. I wandered to your channel last night to see if I'd missed anything. Hope all is well in JG2 Land.

    :-)

  • Life is a paradox. It is both tangible and intangible. Knowing and not knowing. Trying to be comfortable living and learning and being wisely compassionate for all those around us while we are here in that very ungrounded state.

And cookies. Eating large quantities of freshly baked cookies.

  • The first one's, like, totally deep and stuff.

    The second one, YAAAAY!!

    8-D

  • I read the fist one, I practice the second one almost religiously. hee hee

  • great video Curt :) i like the 3rd theory (the deep one) :)

  • That third one would go over REALLY well with the owners of that restaurant, I'm sure. LOL

    Thanks!

    :-)

  • Great Video! Meaning of life, is not to search for it, but to give your own life meaning...

  • For some reason I'm thinking of what John Lennon sang about: "life is what happens when you're busy doing other things."

    Not sure why.

Maybe I'm just not fully awake yet.

    :-)

  • I think you are fully awake, and aware :)

  • ...thanks for finally clearing that up :-)

in the meantme have a great week!

  • Thanks, Beeke. You too!

    :-D

  • I think the meaning is as individual as we are so there isn't a one size fits all. My own version is something I feel very strongly inside but unfortunately haven't got words to convey to someone else. But it's that big surging ecstatic thing you get with music and love and amazing things people do. Those moments of being at one with it all and clarity. See, just can't really explain my version, hope you have and enjoy your own unique version. Cheers, Lesley

  • Nah, Lesley, that's a beautiful explanation. Besides, if you didn't continue to reevaluate how to word the answer, it wouldn't be worth taking another look at from time to time.

    :-)

  • Well, I see someone beat me to it, but the answer to the question you ask is 42, I hear. As it is told by the late, great Douglas Adams, it is the question to the meaning of life we must seek, not the anwser. ;-)

    -- Matt

  • If the answer is 42, perhaps the question is:

    43 - 1 = ?

  • so, the meaning of life is...always have a witness?! :-)

  • YES! Except I forgot to have that notarized.

    8-|

  • i want to be a notary public! i wonder how one gets that job! :-)

  • Good question! At one point I had seriously gotten hold of some informati
