i just bought my first mac and it's loaded with lion. It does not have the macintosh hd icon in the upper right corner and I can't find that anywhere..... This is a greater challenge than I expected!
i had a windows computer. I had the highest version of Norton Antivirus, it would make me cancel or allow everything, with a risk assesment of any download. I did this each time it was a high risk, i didn't download. That computer developed a major trojan, norton nor AVG could get rid of it in anyway. A virus scan doesnt work. That computer will never be able to access the internet.
your mac seems to run sort of slow , no offense mind , but all the animations and that seem to lag , don't know if it's just in the video though or what not
yeah man dis vid is bare helpfull but one problem im haveing is dat when a prog takes 2 long to load how do i shut it down with out shutting down the comp
i liked the video, i always wanted to see how you make the doc icons get bigger as you scroll over them :D thanks! ( im still new to macs as my new pet is only a few months old)
Yeah, there are not many people who start out on Mac. I got a Mac after years of asking for one and learning about them. If that is you speaking, you have a voice for radio.
I've just gotten a Mac, and I'm actually a computer systems technical specialist who has always used windows. Therefore this video has been very helpful to me.
the plus button don't restore the prev size. it make the window fit to the right width of the content. in this case, only the two first Finder's columns have content to show
where can i get macintohh loh?

Best tip for new mac users would be, return it to the store and buy something not loaded with hardware lockins and limited API for half the price.

you do NOT need to drag a dock icon to the trash to remove it. just drag it off the dock. you're overcomplicating the simplest task on a Mac.

1 misstake in the vid, to remove an icon in the dock u dont have to drag it to the trash u just have to drag it out side the dock and let go. EASY.
I love my mac and will probably never go back to windows.

It's hardly overpriced, and it's far better than any other kind of computer.

3 tips for new mac users
1. Buy some games and applications
2. Realise games don't work on your mac, and most of your apps are microsoft
3. Install Windows on your Mac and enjoy computing. A Virus scan isn't the end of the world.
moomoo1337 2 years ago
i had a windows computer.
The games I need can go on a mac, so I am fine

You're right, thats why I have a 13" white macbook and a 17" imac (both from late 2007) and prefer my self build PC over both of them.

Wrong, its easier to remove an icon from the Dock by just dragging it to the desktop, and it vanishes in a puff of smoke

This is useless, if you are getting a mac, most likely know mostly the basics. this is just pointless.

Ummm...
I think when you want to remove something from the dock, you simply just drag it out, there is no need to place it on the trash folder.
And the right way to get to your apps, is click the finder to open a window, and simply go to your apps from there.
