you do NOT need to drag a dock icon to the trash to remove it. just drag it off the dock. you're overcomplicating the simplest task on a Mac.

The HDD icon is not enabled by default in the new Mac OS X this needs to be updated.

1 misstake in the vid, to remove an icon in the dock u dont have to drag it to the trash u just have to drag it out side the dock and let go. EASY.

I love my mac and will probably never go back to windows.

1. Buy some games and applications

2. Realise games don't work on your mac, and most of your apps are microsoft

3. Install Windows on your Mac and enjoy computing. A Virus scan isn't the end of the world.

i had a windows computer. I had the highest version of Norton Antivirus, it would make me cancel or allow everything, with a risk assesment of any download. I did this each time it was a high risk, i didn't download. That computer developed a major trojan, norton nor AVG could get rid of it in anyway. A virus scan doesnt work. That computer will never be able to access the internet.

The games I need can go on a mac, so I am fine

Apple Menu > Force Quit OR Option(Alt) + Cmd + Esc OR Ctrl-click on the app icon and click Force Quit. :)

Wrong, its easier to remove an icon from the Dock by just dragging it to the desktop, and it vanishes in a puff of smoke

the plus button don't restore the prev size. it make the window fit to the right width of the content. in this case, only the two first Finder's columns have content to show

Ummm...

I think when you want to remove something from the dock, you simply just drag it out, there is no need to place it on the trash folder.

And the right way to get to your apps, is click the finder to open a window, and simply go to your apps from there.
