  • hey how do you fight sanctus using dante? did u use hack?

  • I'm in a PC Controller

  • Oh and also, how do you change styles so easily while moving? It's awkward for me to move my thumb onto the d-pad from the analog stick.

  • at 8:34, how did you automatically go into stinger and million stab without using the Rebellion combo first?

  • @techn0FTW Stinger -> Hold the Melee button -> Leave control stick neutral -> Million Stab.

Also I can't really say much about changing styles. You just need to figure out a way to switch styles that is easy for you. I practice with Dante so I have gotten better at switching styles with my thumb.

  • I just don't understand how people become so good at this game. I freakin' love it, but I just can't do these things. I'm not TERRIBLE, but I wouldn't consider myself to be very good either.

  • @FullmetalFox1 I actually plan on making a video that sorta teaches you how to improve on Dante's various techniques. But if you want to improve, you have to be a bit determined.

  • totally agree with @FullmetalFox1 that's why I'm watching these videos too. To get better you know? There's always room for improvement.

  • @FullmetalFox1 i understand how u feel.. im ok at the game but not good enough to do any of this stuff :(

  • Chaser please respond,

I try to JC (Ariel Rave once, then Jump Etc..) but It wont do it! it does it twice then quits -_-.

    Why?

  • How can i do JC in PC

    Please help me...!

  • Since you use the default controller set-up I was wondering the following; do you slide your fingers to JC the first attack of aerial rave? I can imagine that being kind of counter productive in the long run seeing as, at least to my knowledge, won't be able to slide your fingers for Gilgamesh's Full House. And I suppose it might be a tad odd to do two things then JC using that method. Then again, I am still pretty bad so, I wouldn't know.

But yes, I'd love an answer, hope to hear from you!

  • @FlowersAndFoxes Technically you don't need to JC the first aerial rave attack since it has a really fast cooldown time. You can immediately follow up with a lot of moves unless you are trying to do something extremely specific.

Personally I don't mind using default controls because they seem to work really well for me. I never had a problem with them so I don't see why I should change them when I'm already comfortable with them. This includes using Nero as well.

  • @chaserthewolf Ah, I will keep that in mind! I do find the default controls comfortable as well but what I was really wondering was in regards to how you input the Aerial Rave to JC. As in, do you slide your finger across circle and x or do you tap the buttons? Because, while it does not feel odd doing it, I am wondering if it is at all possibly to rapidly tap the buttons to JC multiple times.

But thanks for the tip on the CD, though, kinda thought JCing was a must when it came to Aerial Rave.

  • @FlowersAndFoxes hey! how do you do? just want to share. try to slide the button from x to circle, i usually practice this using rebellion sword master, try the big black scarecrow when he's knocked down, short jump near him, and slide slide slide the button, find the most comfortable timing, its not so fast so take iteasy, and im using pc i already tried this on 120 fps to 40 fps its the same timing, unless you have below than 30fps, it should be slower.

  • @FlowersAndFoxes ..continue.. you see?? you can slash everything like crazy now!! try to slide just when the blade hit the enemy, and experiment w/ other moves or style, i just figure this out 2 weeks ago, im glad were on the same boat! just let me know if it help you

  • @chaserthewolf you've probably answered this plenty of times, but i'm trying to beat bloody palace and i'm not sure which character to sit down with and practice and master to do it with. since your videos prove you've mastered both, who would you recommend for it?

  • @SiNishad I'd recommend dante just for versatility.

  • @IBlunts haha he's so hard to master XP

  • @SiNishad Lol I feel you dude. In DMC3 it was one style at a time. Now you have 5 at your disposal with the push of a button. It's like 5 characters crammed into one. You can get the hang out if with practice. I'm finding it next to impossible to master both characters at the same time.

  • @IBlunts yeah exactly. and I havent even beaten the game on Dante Must Die yet I'm only on Mission 15, so i'm still switching off between both characters pretty frequently. guess i should finish DMD and hell mode before I get started on Bp

  • @SiNishad I've S ranked all DMD missions, but that was before I learned about JCing and GCing. I wouldn't waste your time on Heaven and Hell mode. Just go straight to BP after DMD

  • @IBlunts BUT XBOX ACHIEVEMENTZ HUNTINGZ!!!

  • @SiNishad Lol ahh I see. On ps3 DMC4 has its achievement system but no trophies so I have no reason to work hard to get them all. I can't wait for the DMC HD collection to come out in april. my ps3 just got YLOD though after 6 years. Gotta buy a new one :[

  • @IBlunts oh wow! well It's definitely a game where I don't even think about the achievements, definitely a game where achievements feel like ACTUAL achievements and not chores

neither can i! DMC HD reissue and the Silent Hill HD Collection are all I'm looking forward to. I'm sorry man! hope you can get it together before DMC HD comes out. That's gonna be the big party

  • Could you make a combo like; Arial rave, Shoot, Jc, ariel rave, shoot, jc, etc; to keep the enemy in the air?

  • Hats off to you my Chaser :) This is an AWESOME and in-depth tutorial.

  • I feel like crap now...

Never gonna be like that guy

  • @TROUBLEMAKERexe Takes practice man. Tons of practice.

I used to be horrible in DMC4 though. You don't automatically start off as a great player. You work your way upwards. :)

  • @TROUBLEMAKERexe yeah, it really just takes practice. I just learned his advanced guide for Nero, got an S rank in all of his missions on Dante Must Die now, one is ranked 45th. Trust in the video and you'll learn

  • In keyboard it's so hard. =[

  • Hi there, first of all, thank you very much for the video, I LOVE YOU.

i would like to ask you if you config your controls, if so, could you tell us how does you config controls looks like?

    thank you.

  • @Conceicao4 PS3 Controller, Default configuration

  • skill

  • The only way I can stay in the air very extended periods of time is when I jump cancel the first hit of aerial rave is by sliding my thumb from X to Circle, however, my thumb becomes sore after a while which sucks. I guess I'll just have to keep at it until my thumb becomes faster, and any tips regarding JC'ing would be greatly appreciated!

And, just for reference, I practice on a scarecrow with Turbo Mode on, when I don't slide my thumb I can do at most three aerial rave hits if I'm lucky.

  • @chaserthewolf Love it alot! Manny thanks to u!!!!! I'm trying new things, and dante's is way harder to learn than Nero, will that's my opinion.

  • You opened up a whole new world of DMC4 to me kind sir

  • Damn it why didn't they make turbo mode only for PC. I have a PS3 and I already got used to Turbo mode in DMC3 :(

  • to do this jump cancel, I have to have the enemy step?

  • @pokemester2000 Yes, otherwise you can't do it.

  • I have improved a fucklot thanks to your tutorial, even my newest video seems shittier than everything else when I look at my current gameplay after lots of practice since then.

But one thing still confuses me. I want to use that E&I to Aerial Rave thing, but once I hit an enemy with a slash, it takes about a second until I can fire E&I. Note that I'm playing on PS3 and therefore have no turbo mode. Can you tell me if i can even do it without that extra-speed? I mean, it isn't that hard, is it?

  • @marcel23395 Nah, it's not hard to use the E&I Aerial Rave trick in normal mode. It's the same concept. Just a slower timing.

Anything that you can do in turbo mode is infinitely easier in normal mode.

  • @chaserthewolf I really thought so, but it seems like I simply can't get the correct timing. Everytime I manage to do this once, Dante descends about half of his body lenght until I can shoot again.

    Well, I'll try it again.

  • im subscribing!! :-)

  • Can someone explain the jump cancel? I time it, and the only way Dante would do it is if I use the analog stick towards the enemy whole JC'ing..

  • @Darkshadow222 You have to be close to the enemy in order to JC. You don't have to hold the control stick towards the enemy.

  • @chaserthewolf It works for large enemies such as frost. But not one of the scarecrows allows me to JC, no matter how close I am. Is there a certain side of the scarecrow I need to be on?

  • @Darkshadow222 If it's MegaScarecrow: You need a bit above the upper half when you are in midair.

If it's the Scarecrow: The front/side area has a decent range for you to JC on.

  • @Darkshadow222 do you play it on pc? if yes, downgrade your graphics, turn your pre-rendered graphic to 0 or 1, if its nvidia, for ati, i dunno. pre-rendered graph will degrade the control reaction. for small scarecrow, i usually succes after 2nd hit w/ areal rave, for a 1st hit jc, its a small chance for me.. need to play it alot. ohh, try pandora on air, its easy ;-)

  • noob question... how can i do the debug menu?

  • how do u get the bloody palace to go like that?

i mean to stop countdown and the last enemy doesnt die..

  • @Kayed8514 Read the Description

  • @chaserthewolf is that only for PC?

  • @chaserthewolf is that debug menu only for PC? ( srry for the nOObish question

  • @Kayed8514 Please read the description.

  • can u explainme hoe the hell u did the slowmotion with the debug mode??

  • did u use some kind of pc mod to fight against sanctus at 7:37 ?

  • I suck as Dante, and this vid has not changed that. However, now I at least know how to do some moves in theory, which means it all comes down to training now.

  • can you do these combos on the ps3 or just the computer, i find it quite hard to press triangle and x fast enough to jc like you do.

  • @fincham50 Performing combos on a PC is no different than performing combos on a PS3 or Xbox 360.

I don't use a keyboard to play DMC4. I use a PS3 controller that is hooked up to my PC.

  • The only thing I will say is that after you truly master using Dante (which 2 years later, I feel I almost have), melee combat in any other 3rd person game will feel unbelievably shallow.

I'm still astonished at the combat in this game, think how long it must have taken to iron out all the bugs in a system like this. Not to mention that despite nearly fifty moves, it still feels completely intuitive and natural, it's just unbelievably perfect, and the better you get, the more obvious that is.

  • @naryanr Thanks for the comment, but I assure you that I'm definitely not a master with Dante. In fact, I'm only sub par at using him. There are plenty of players who are better than me.

  • @chaserthewolf You may not be a master, and sure there's always people who are better, but you're sure as hell not sub par, and neither am I.

  • love the tutorials! it has help me soo much! u definitely deserve more views!

  • Sweeeet, babeh!

  • Very nice tutorial. Btw, have you heard about aegislee's special effects changing mod ? Its actually quite refreshing to play with it, even though some of the effects are too much.

  • Thank u bro thanks to this video I can now beat bloody palace and DMD a lot more easily.

  • I can't get E&I to fire fast enough during the Air Rave shoot combo to keep the enemy in the air. Is there a trick to it? Because my slash won't cancel fast enough.

  • @TerraXehanort1 It's not much of a trick to doing that. It just depends on your timing. You just have to wait a bit before shooting with E&I. When you do, immediately use Aerial Rave.

I suggest you play around with the timing some more. Try to do it at a slow pace first. Then build your way up.

  • @chaserthewolf Thanks, I played around with it, and can do it whenever now. It was a timing issue.

  • THANK U SO MUCH 4 THIS WELL PUT TOGETHER GUILD, IMA BE SO VICIOUS W/ DANTE NOW!!!!

  • Great video! I have one newbie question, when fighting frost, how do I determine when my high roller will juggle it? sometimes it gets hit and still stays on the ground.

  • @12374808 High Roller won't usually juggle Frost with the first hit unless it's an Ex-ACT High Roller or if you are attacking them during their attack animations.

Against a downed Frost, they won't move at all unless you grab them. I believe you can juggle a downed Frost with a lvl 3 High Roller. I'm not too sure about it.

  • @12374808 Oops, my bad. I was thinking of Nero.

For DANTE, it takes about 2 to 3 hits for Frost to be juggled. However it's just best to use Prop Shredder since it always manages to lift even Devil Triggered Enemies in the air.

  • @chaserthewolf actually it was my bad.. yea i meant Dante but I said high roller instead of high time. High roller indeed belongs to Nero. Thanks for everything :)

  • @12374808 a.k.a chaserthewolf, I have a question, after using Hightime what is the recommended height and distance should you be between you and your enemy when starting Ariel Rave Jump Cancel?

Should you do it at the peak of High Time??

Or do you let Dante fall to create some space??

  • @chaserthewolf: I have a question, after using Hightime what is the recommended height and distance should you be between you and your enemy when starting Ariel Rave Combo?

Should you do it at the peak of High Time?? Or do you let Dante fall to create some space??

  • Epic tutorial. About the slow-motion in the debug menu, where is it? (after opening debug menu which submenu and what page)

  • What font is that?

  • @and1dodger Cynthe

  • btw can you tell me your pad config?

  • @Beelzeboub333 PS3 Controller, Default config.

  • DUDE!!!! SICK GAMEPLAY!!! FUCKIN OWESOME :D

  • how do you fight sanctus as dante?

is it just for the p.c or U.S versions?

i have xbox 360 E.U version and i can only fight sanctus as nero

  • @hellsjanitor666 PC version. You cannot do this in the PS3/Xbox 360 version

  • No wonder you can Guard Cancel Bold Move in MvC3.

  • How do you do for "lock" ennemie's life and time please? Is that a kind of training room unlock because of achievement or.. ? 8') thanks to answer :'D

  • @ggtro2 It's not an achievement. I used the debug menu for the PC version. You can get it at s1. zetaboards.

  • @chaserthewolf fiou i did it! i don't speak english very well so it was really hard to find the good link for download the good file --". But thank you!

  • @chaserthewolf thanks it's too hard for me

  • @chaserthewolf The Tutorial is the very best ever made.Tell me please about the Trickster(Dash) guard canceling i mean on the ground. When i cancel without inputing a direction it's not so hard but i don't know when to change the direction. Is it like this : : trickster-> Dash->guardian>trickster->direction->dash?

  • @scorpion28104 Yes that is close to it. To be more precise about the commands, it is this:

Trickster -> Directional Input + Dash -> Royalguard -> Block -> Trickster -> Directional Input + Dash, and repeat the process.

  • @chaserthewolf Thanks now it's clear

  • This has got me pumped to get back into DMC4 and Bayonetta. At the start of your video, I was definitely one of those "average players" that would stick to one Style (Royal Guard), and make do. The only stylish Dante you'll see me play as so far is MvC3 Dante. Time to change that.

  • finally someone made a video of this, the only decent tutorial out there was broly's JC tutorial for DMC3,well not anymore :D

  • @naakato lol Thanks. I got tired of the fact that there were no DMC4 tutorials to help people with combos and advanced techniques. So I made my own for both Dante and Nero.

Hopefully people will learn about the techniques easily with the help of this video that I posted. :)

  • I always thought of making a clip just like this, but I thought it would be too late and that nobody would even bother with it. Great job man!

  • even capcom wud b surprised to know such combos (possibilities) exist indmc4 ;P ....great work

  • you progress a lot bro. !

nice video ! maybe i will be able to record some clips this weekend. keep it up and record some clips for our video if you can. and i dont know if our partners will still join us... nero19901 wont join us. and i say it again: great video !!!

  • @2bepower Thanks man. I hope you do record some gameplay soon.

And yeah, I have been practicing during the weekends so my progress with Dante is sort of improving. Hopefully I will come up with some good combos for the video as well.

  • so then from the video i learned few things which are :

1- the game became much greater and cooler than DMC3

2- without vergil they gave you his style and now can freely go through styles without being forced to use one style all the lvl !

3- the combos are very much advanced and can create unstopable combo with the right styles and the right timing and for sure a lot of practice

4- thanks for the help you gave us all thanks very much i love the game now more than ever !

  • tell the name of cheat or hack pliss... infinite life for mosnters im' not english sorry.

  • where is part 2 ??

  • @MultiNouaman I'm waiting on a friend to send in clips of some advanced techniques. So far he hasn't given me them yet so as of now, I can't finish the video.

  • @chaserthewolf I'm really looking forward to it. I want to see how that sky star aerial rave madness works! :D

  • @Matsute lol The input for StarRave is just Aerial Rave -> Switch to Trickster -> Skystar -> Switch to Swordmaster -> Jump Cancel -> Aerial Rave and repeat. You just have to be very fast if you wish to "stay" in the same location when you are airborne.

  • @chaserthewolf Oh, I figured it would be something like that, but I thought there was something more to it for some reason. lol

  • I think you're on the same level as his1nightmare. It's amazing how much "undercover-pro's" there are out there that you don't even know about.

I also like your taste in music, keep up the good work, man.

  • @marcel23395 ..Same level as his1nightmare? Hell no man. My Dante is no where near as good as his. My skills came from him, yes. But in no way in shape or form that I'm as good as he is.

  • @chaserthewolf You may not be exactly as good as him, but I love your playing style and you're one of the best players I've seen so far, with both Dante and Nero. You don't need much to keep up with his1 in my opinion.

  • @marcel23395 Thanks man. I appreciate your comments. I also plan on uploading a few things with Nero. Nothing tutorial wise but it's something to show what you can do with Calibur.

  • @chaserthewolf I'm looking forward to it. :)

  • Oh man, my jump canceling is so inconsistent. I guess it'll improve with time though. lol

  • @Matsute Just keep practicing man. You'll get better in no time.

  • @chaserthewolf Oh btw, I can combo between aerial rave and the Yamato while JCing OK, but I can't for the life of me get JC combos working with Gilgamesh and Lucifer. Got any tips on timing for those, or will you include that in the next video?

  • @Matsute Gilgamesh has a strict timing when it comes to JCing. There is a small delay when it comes to JCing the attack that Full House delivers. All I can say is that you need to just find that timing. As for Lucifer, it's not that hard to JC. You just need to know which of Lucifer's attack to JC. I assume it's hard because you are switching through weapons fairly quickly and you have to switch back to Rebellion.

  • Cant wait for part 2.

  • awesome mate. Great video! :D

  • I looking forward to next release.

    awesome tutorial,man :)

  • @ExThanatosL Thanks! I was actually going to ask you if you could record some clips of you doing Lucifer cancelling with royal guard. That is if you have the time.

  • @chaserthewolf Well If you want to I can record for you some clips about that. :)

  • @chaserthewolf If you want,I can record some clips for you about that.

  • @ExThanatosL That'll be awesome. :) If you can, send me 3 clips of you using Lucifer Cancelling

One being used in a combo

    One being used regularly

and one being used in slo motion.

Just send them to me when you have them. I would greatly appreciate it. :D

  • @chaserthewolf Got it. :)

    I'll send them,soon

  • Great tutorial Mate =P

  • JUST AWESOME DUDES we all want to play like xalotkalibrexem !!! pinned !

  • so owesome i just can't wait for part 2 pleaaase let me know when it's up pleaaase :D

  • nice!!

i can't wait to see part 2...well i still got some problem about side rave and reverse rave

  • " I believe I wasted about 10GB worth of diskspace on my harddrive. :P"

I know how you feel bro.

  • @ujb5z987 I actually ended up wasting 14GB. Damn fraps with it's high quality resolution. It's the main reason why I use an external harddrive.

  • really good tuto ^^ i needed this some months ago..

  • well done again !

  • wow I didnt know this game was that deep

  • @SmexyMillz With Dante it is. He has a lot to work with which makes him extremely complicated to control. I still have a hard time using him.

  • @chaserthewolf Keep up the good work man I feel like going out and buying this game again now.. I subbed also

  • @SmexyMillz Thank you. Like I said before, I'll upload part 2 this weekend along with some extra stuff with Nero.

  • Great work on this ACT, dude.

Just 1 little thing that bugs me. I see you're not really recording at 1080p. Why do you render it as such? Just takes longer to render/upload and makes no difference when you play it on YT from say... a 480p one.

  • @xHeLLGuarDx ^^; I had assumed that maybe it would be extremely clear. I guess I was wrong. lol. I'll just keep it at 480p.

  • @chaserthewolf Think of it this way... its like zooming in on a picture. It isn't gonna make it clearer to see, just blurrier and sharpening the image can only do so much before its starts to gather noise. ;d

Anyway, keep doing these, because even if I don't play Dante that often, or excessively train with Nero, I still enjoy watching (and from time to time learning) the AC tutorials. :)

  • Awesome! I definitely need to try all of this out once I get more time. Thanks for the heads up.
