@rs1985 @ConcordeCentral No it's not. You explained it wrong. CAL is the ICAO for China Airlines CI is the IATA. The IATA is used for public for ticket sellers and such. ICAO is for the real Code. And CAL is best so people can understand CAL= China Airlines, instead of CI which not a lot of people knowing.

Actually I am on vacation in Tokyo and Hong Kong, taking JAL. Service is very polite and professional, flight is relatively smooth, pretty decent selection of food. Oh one Cabin Attendant was kind enough to give me some nice JAL souvenir. I am just loving it.
