We have are '91 explorer, and never need to replace anything. Almost 500,000km's and runs like its brand new. It literally fixes it self. The front axle was grinding so much you could hear it from half a mile away, a week later the rear power window breaks and the axle stops grinding. One thing go's wrong and something else gets fixed. Regular maintenance and They'll last forever. One of Best Vehicles Ever Made
All of you guys bringing up the Firestone thing, It wasn't the explorer's fault. It was Firestone, they stamped the wrong pressure on the sidewalls of the tires saying it needed to be 23PSI instead of the standard 30-35. This is what caused the blow-outs and rollovers.
@HeavyGhost You are incorrect. I have a 1993 Ford Explorer, so I do not dislike Ford. It is definitely not Firestone's fault that Ford bought passenger tires for this vehicle. The pressure was not marked incorrectly. It is a 2-ply tire that caused the problem. Firestone did not hold a gun to the Ford guy's heads and say buy this tire, meatbags!
I can't rent a stupid U-Haul trailer because of this whole Firestone fiasco, even though my shit was built before any of this happened... so to tow my bike around I need to use moms little Subaru, not that it doesn't do the job, it's just annoying.
Nothing got messed up and I've put 10k more miles after this video and have gone on more brutal off-roads and all I did was replace the radiator which cracked. It's a truck! That's what it was made for and designed to take a beating.
i have a 1993 explorer an it only has 85 on the dash but when i race on the ineterstate next to my friend cars his says 100mph` can we really go that fast
i have a '93 explorer limited... you CANT do a standing burn out. You have to start out with your wheels turned or on a wet surface. You can do a little scandanavian flick in corners and floor it to kick out the back end though :D
nice. i have a 97 explorer, dark blue. its beautiful. do you have a 4.0 v6 or a 5.0 v8? and did you hold brake, hit gas and release brake for burnout?
i have a 93 green ford explorer with the 4.0 v6 and all you need to do is hit the gas hard to do a burnout in the grass . but to do one on the road you need to power brake it
It was too bumpy, I have some other videos of doing nice ones in a muddier less sticky spot. Those grave diggers dig real good into the ground. Just need to get around posting them

Yea well if any tire blow out on it it'll roll over , hell go a around a turn above 30mph and it'll roll over lol
Foxontherun2 2 years ago
no it wont i take sharp turns well over 30 without swaybars and dont rollover. it's all about the driver, not the vehicle.
HeavyGhost 2 years ago
Yea and you have to be an extremely good driver to keep it from falling over , i'm surprised there's no kick stand.
Foxontherun2 2 years ago
lol that is actually pretty funny. props for that.

@MaciekPL87 no, surprisingly no vehicle is "designed to take the beating" of depressing brake and accelerator at the same time.
