What tha fuck is this ? I could finish both of them real quick, they fightin' like some punk ass girls, what tha fuck man, they should be fuckin' embarassed, that was PATHETIC !!!
Don't know what the problem is of all those who say "it's not wing tsun/wing chun". The WT/WC guy always moves forward, taking the other guy's space, and preempts almost all the attacks with his front leg kick, which means he is in the right distance and has good timing. Are they looking for "chi sau" exchanges? There is no chi sau in real fights (or in sparring for that matters). It's just a split second on contact that decides the winner/loser of an exchange.
@tillerbear Ummm, how bout MY masters for example? Jeez.. This is good, I'll give it some slack, but not the best wing chun sparring. Barely used 5% of wing chun but whatever.
@VapourXY It looks like that because most WT techniques fall apart under pressure. The art is flawed.
Ever noticed that under pressure Muay Thai looks like Muay thai, Kyokushin looks like Kyokushin, BJJ looks like BJJ but WC/WT just looks like sloppy kickboxing.
@tillerbear WC takes a lot of time and experience to master. I think people make the mistake of assuming that simply learning how to move like WC and do chi sau makes you "good" at fighting because you believe in the theories. no, you have to spar and fight (and lose) to learn how it can work for you, and maybe a lot of folks don't do that. and sparring in WC is doesn't give you the same benefits as sparring with non-WC folks do. I think the style is very good but you have to put your time in.
...like these guys in the video. they're out there, trying to figure it out. I study it and I think it's not bad. I think my sifu has a pretty realistic view about it. is it the last stop when it comes to fighting arts? no. All MAs have their strengths and weaknesses--as people do. I think in WC, you've made progress when the style becomes harder to "see" (you can move naturally), but the opponent feels it on their end. peace.
Yeah not a quality clip lads,, the guy your sparring hasnt got a clue bout full contact. But its real hard sparring that learns you what works & what doesnt & yeah...in Wing Chun bout 90% doesnt work against any1 half skilled. Anything will work against an idiot tho. Put a clip up of you sparring a decent Thai fighter or decent MMA guy & see if works. We all end up fighting the same..it just takes some styles longer to get there. Thats why youse look like poor kickboxers
okay, well all the crap talk aside from all ya'll. The only problem i see with this video is the Wing Chun guy isn't using his Shueng-ma (advancing; meridian stance). Ie Yah-mo-bo-fat (Stance inserting step techniques) or Bik-bo-dip-da (chasing the enemy with stepping punches). Use that front leg to invade your opponents space bud.
Just my humble opinion, but wing-chun is better used in combination with other martial arts as the late & great Bruce Lee proved. By itself it leaves way to much of a target which is why Mr. Lee adopted more of a boxing stance giving a slimmer profile, less of a target and alters the center line making it harder for the opponent to attack one's vital center.... Bow
@VicJones01 we all loved Bruce for being Bruce, but you do have to wonder how he would have been if he learned the complete Wing Chun system before moving on to other methods... Bow returned, Sifu DL
i don't know wing tsun so took a look around at several video this evening, but i saw very low level with good or enthusiastic comments! so now my idea is wt is like aikido & co., without an effective application...
Thats because so much Wing Chun is terrible, (I would be tempted to say its a very high percentage, say 90% of it is ineffective) The best examples of the system being used properly are ManchesterVingTsun and Gary Lam vids
I'm guessing its the same guy from the sparring vid 1 when he was up against the kickboxer due to very similar stance. He has good form and demonstrates well his centreline. Very nice. I'm not sure what the other guy's fighting style was. WC/boxing hybrid? It seemed like WC at times. The good WC fighter does what he is supposed to do - stand firm and attack. Not moving around a lot and wasting energy like the other guy.
u dick...my master knows about 5 different styles including Shaolin Kung fu , Muay Thai and Wing Chun, throwing some fast jabs and hooks for us to practice with is very easy for him....are you stupid , his speed would knock you out before you could say 'i am an internet troll' , do not disrespect a master - the fact that you comment like you do just tells me that you are a poor fighter.
Some WC schools just spa with the usual Lok Sau / Chi Sau techniques. I agree with your comment - Without spontaneous sparring you cannot develop the nec skills for fighting, In my WC school we pad up & street fight for real life practice, for ex; last week my Sifu pretended to be a boxer throwing fast punches and we had to use WC to defend ourselves. I got hit in the mouth through my headguard and my tooth went through my tongue! I will be quicker next time and learn to block better.
how can he "pretend" to be boxer! You must train hard specialy FOR BOXING. I am boxer and I cannot pretend that I am WC or whatewer. You master dont know shit about boxing !
I respect every form of figthing and i think none of them is complete but every style has something to teach, i am not a boxer but i have done some kickboxing for some years i can tell you guys its takes months and years to teach your "body" to do a punch whit full potenciality using all your body machanics. Pretending to be a boxer its like pretending to be a doctor whitout ever been to a anatomy class in your live, boxing is not simple and its not easy.
@trunitus123 thats because everyone seems to exaggerate wing chun. They exaggerate every aspect, they purposely try to get into chi sao. Real wing chun is very strait forward, like muay thai or any of the other "quick" arts. And the stance isn't some mystical thing either. Its natural and loose, even you can move well in it, like a boxers stance. A lot of people exaggerate the stance too. Its a very effective art when done right, so is muay thai and some others.
A good technical WC guy would use more kicks and would have finished the other guy in seconds. The reason there is no sparring like this normally in WC is because WC is not a sport it is a fighting system that aims to finish an attacker there and then and hurt him badly enough that he cannot continue to attack you. Credit to this guy though for pounding the centre line and demonstrating that those straight punches are unstoppable if let off quick enough.
Rubbish. What a load of shit excuse. Without spontaneous training such as sparring you cannot develop the necessary skills for any kind of fighting, sports or otherwise. You won't learn to finish people quickly without actually practicing doing so against someone who is defending themselves.
martial art without rules (that says that you can't do a sparring, because they are rules!) if you really train this in you can't kick against the knee or box at the neck....Fool

who is your sifu.. u r going to be good.. when u practise sections.. good for beginner..they don t like your vid.. cause they think u r practising for long..y r young yet. u r going to be good in your late 30 s.
No Sparring in Wing Chun? Sorry but i disagree. There should be various levels of sparring in all wing chun clubs from light to full contact. People need to learn what it feels like to hit and to be hit. I'm not saying that there should be sparring everyday like a boxing gym but there should be some. You can't use a Biu sau sparring it's too dangerous but a bop on the end of the nose will teach him to guard against just as effectively
by sparring i meant like the way these 2 guys were doing it. Sparring in wing chun has a different meaning. Obviously we perform chi sau and other drills with physical contact and imitating real life situations, but we dont go tryign to hit each other like in a boxing match. This vid is misleading.
The lack of sparring is one of the reasons that most 'Chunners' these days cant fight for Shit.

more kicks, good sparring, but I think many wing chun people train ther hands too much n forget to use kicks. Chisao is could be classified as sparring depending on the objectives, if u assume each guy knows enough wing chun it doesnt have to become a 'lab' any more, it might as well b full contact when u go all out.but the fact evrythin goes out the window is the problem
ok one must make only wt but other every stupid or non stupid thing.. thats the way to prepare one who must make wt for streets.. or any thing.. stdent makes wt but the one who gives practise does not apply every time wt.. same as all wt system teachings..
I suppose it would be defined as wing chun on the basis of how many applications of wing chun are used before you class it as W.C sparring. Does he use centreline? Is his guard w.c guard styled? Is he using his opponents force? etc. Theres lots of critera for a wing chun 'spar'
