@6000tearsEyEcry The last part of your statement must have been directed towards "xGamingL3gendx" because I didn't say anything about Detroit being near Lake Michigan. I know where Lake Michigan is - grew up swimming in it... lol
I don't like the bear explanation. To me these look much more like the tracks of one or more unshod horses, travelling in the opposite direction than what the people in the video assume. That is, the "heel" is actually the front of the hoof, and the raised "toes" area is actually the sand displaced toward the rear of the track by the animal's travel in the opposite direction. I've seen horse tracks on the beach a fair amount, and these look pretty close to that.
I've seen a lot of Bear prints, that's what they look like. The stride is short because the bear was just looking around. They saunter about with their noses up looking for food.
Haha! They're so sanctimoniously serious about some dodgy footprints- I prefer the previous answers for rationality: a horse in trot, stilts with sand grips, a big dog, some kids walking on their heels to make wierd tracks, bouncing walkers or quite simply "I don't know" in fact anything excpect boogey men/UFO men goofing around at a tourist trap!
What about Horse tracks? They look like a horse in full stride to me. And horses do, more or less, bring their hooves into line for better balance as they gallop.
They're bear prints. They're slightly elongated and messed up at the toe because the back footprint overlaps the back of the front footprint. They sink as far down as they do because the sand was wet due to rain shortly before, given the impression of raindrops surrounding them but not in the print themselves. They're not snowshoes since the images were captured in June. They're not swim fins because then the heel would be a narrow human heel.
The footprints were made from someone in swim flippers not an alien!! These are used for snorkeling, swimming, diving, boogie borading etc. Likely the prints were made by the kind that covers the whole foot instead of only half, that's why you don't see the line between the foot and the flipper , and that would also explain the wide heel and walking mostly on the heel. Simple as that! I believe that aliens exist but these are from flippers!
LOL I lived in Michigan for 27 years. If you are in the U.P. there are bears all over up there, if you are in the upper part of the southern part, you still have bears, just not as many. I will bet it is bear tracks for sure.
once the cub is big the mother bear will walk them, to shake them into independent life, they come through our yards every year in late spring early summer, and usually return back through early winter but travel alone at that time
yeah these guys look right with bear tracks. i was originally thinking horse tracks. like running. the tracks would go the other way, and the raised sand would be the kick from the hooves pushing back sand.
Sorry those are absoulutely positively black bear tracks....mystery solved...if you would have just consulted any decent book on animal tracks, you would not have wasted your time
Yes it's black bear prints in sandy soil exposed to the elements. I personally have witnessed many tens of analogous tracks during my childhood, saw the black bear in a few instances, and KNOW what I'm looking at in this particular case.
Consider the latter frames in particular. Extension span and pattern shows black bear. If dog = = serious problems with print depicted and suggest fido visit his vet with surgery imminent. This is black bear.

I'm not an expert on animal tracks - but to me they look like they may have been made by a little mouse with clogs on !

It's more than likely kids horsing around in the sand in order to get odd footprints.

Did you follow the tracks to see where they went??
OriginalLadyRocker 2 years ago
I wouldn't say it's a bear track -- but the flipper explaination (snorkeling gear) is a very plausible explaination.

Well, I can't say how many bears are in the Detroit area -- I don't imagine many in the city -- Come on up to the U.P. -- They are ALL OVER --
they'll even come into your backyard!

Those look like bear tracks. What idiot lives in MI and doesn't know we have bears! While they are no bear in Detroit there are plenty of deer!

looks like bear prints to me, with some wind/water wear and tear.
but NOT hoof prints as someone suggested. horses would have a 'ring' around it as well as an impression of thier frog.
