  • Wow. What a great interview. Mr. Pateman is one of the better interviewers I've seen.

  • @anarchophilia Who wrote that book he mentions near the end, "What is Anarchy?" by Burchman..? I can't seem to find anything online, either.

  • From looking at the thumbnail, I thought it was Jesse Ventura interviewing Chomsky.. lol

  • my god... did chomsky pop a couple horse tranquilizers before this or what?

  • english is not my first language. anybody have a transcript of this?

  • Apex 29:12 very explenation about outsourcing

  • herp derp here is ma imagenatinal society thats n ma head

  • @stinnetbennet

herp derp i have no imagination

  • Anarchy means No-Leader in Latin.

    Or in other words Self-Governed.

Each individual is responsible enough to govern themselves to maintain a creative life for the benefit of all and consequently himself.

On the contrary what we have now is the opposite.

Everyone is governed by laws and regulations which are artificial and do not fit all situations accurately in life.

    Hence creating friction and suffering.

And people are not encouraged to become responsible for their actions.

    See Insurance...

  • those who give the hors d'oeuvres and those who take the hors d'oeuvres

  • Sear Noam, calling for an end to the tyranny is not calling for mass genocide. The dismantling of the system as it is does not have to result in massive death. The system for instance could just be modified for more freedom and choice whilst disposing of the capitalist nightmare in favour of more socialist/libertarian alternatives.

  • @TheGodlessGuitarist No, he was referring to anarcho-primitivism, if we were to dismantle the system and eventually choose an anarchist path, and instead of choosing for example anarcho-communism or anarcho-syndicalism or anarcho-collectivism we would choose anarcho-primitivism (shifting back to hunter-gatherer) that would be a mistake.

I'm agreeing with choosing libertarian socialism or marxism, but anarcho-primitivism...

  • Incredible interview.

  • 44:55 Huggies <3 lol.

  • 20:00 right on point!

  • I have never heard Chomsky use the word "shit" before. That's pretty awesome lol.

This was a fantastic discussion. I wish I could find more from him on Anarcho-Capitalism, and the way its adherents so vehemently attack Anarcho-Syndicalism. Mises dot org actually went so far as to call it worse than the state structure of today.

  • @PurpleHoneyBear lol! i know. i watched that part 3 times.

  • @PurpleHoneyBear

    well, fuck them then.

  • @PurpleHoneyBear

i mean they are totally wrong.

  • @PurpleHoneyBear Yeah, I know. Never heard him curse before either. 35:43

  • Anarchism is retarded. A country needs to generate income to fund essential things like free trade, free enterprise, society (sewage systems, humanity aid, etc., etc.), hospitals, etc., etc., and it needs to protect those interests with a military. It would be a pretty useless military if it didnt have any authority controlling it wouldnt it? And so would a country without law and order.

  • @eanielsen123 Any civilized human society will naturally have laws to keep order

  • @MrDarkbloom And that would defeat the entire purpose of what any anarchist would try to create.

  • @eanielsen123 You've lost your marbles, officially.

  • Who would want to talk to this guy? He never shuts up!

  • Are you bound to have class warfare between various sorts of Mexican jumping beans?

  • I wish Chomsky would explain more about the difference between giving orders and taking orders.

  • Capitalism is not neutral; it exploits. If you doubt that, then try working for a living.

  • @MichaelStepkoff Thats what unions and organized strikes and boycotts are for so the working have a voice. Those methods can be very efficient in getting what working class needs and wants.

  • @MichaelStepkoff

Not necessarily. It depends upon the definition of capitalism. Someone who produces a product, and sells the goods for more than it is worth, is exploitation? If the buyer is not forced or coerced into the agreement, it is not expoititive, imo.

  • You're full of it.

  • Capitalism is an evil empire.

  • @MichaelStepkoff

Like chomsky says, the instrument is neutral. It's how it's used (or implemented) that determines its nature. The only source of evil in the world is that which is born of our minds.
