Anyone who changes from a teeny bopper to a slut from only one album seems really fake. Its so contrived. She could have at least done the change slowly like Madonna and recorded one or two more pop albums but it was a sudden change after ONE album. That itself seems fake and forced so that she could sell more with a raunchy image and then to say the songs were female empowering was stupid. No she couldn't have. Dirrty although not indictive of the entire album was a snippet of her. Sometimes she is dirrty, sometimes she is a fighter, other times she is the cutesy blonde pop tart. I think America really took ONE song from an album of TWENTY and claimed the entire record was rauchy and sex driven. Dirrty isn't even about sex. It's about going out and wrecking the club.

Like in part 1, I believe, of this interview when the guy asked her how she learned how to physically work music as a child, her answer was, "I guess I just really got into it." But in another interview, she says, "My grandma taught me how to work the stage." So yeah. Christina certainly has a thing for contradictions

Anyone who changes from a teeny bopper to a slut from only one album seems really fake. Its so contrived. She could have at least done the change slowly like Madonna and recorded one or two more pop albums but it was a sudden change after ONE album. That itself seems fake and forced so that she could sell more with a raunchy image and then to say the songs were female empowering was stupid. She was basically trying to play catchup to Britney when she released "I'm a Slave 4 U" one year earlier.

Ummm... Britney didn't even write the vast majority of any of her albums. Christina wrote all but two songs on Stripped. Also, the albums were 3 years apart. And she didn't want to be a pop princess to begin with. Christina hated Genie and didn't want it as a single.

She may have recorded pop demos but she also trucked around blues songs to sing for record execs. Also why she have done a slow change when the albums were that long apart? Madonna's first few were a year or so (1983, 1984... tour... 1986).
Christina has also stated that her debut was a time of HEAVY control and at 17 she was just excited to get a record deal. So she did whatever people asked her.
Also Stripped had very little rauch. Stop using Dirrty as the only song on the album.
