Have you heard of some piranhas being vegetarians? I heard and saw a vegetarian piranha in my high school animal science class's aquarium.

Most times these vegetarian piranhas were mistaken with young pacus. Both species are closly related and look very equal when they are young. Pacus feed from vegetable and nuts (which they can crack with their mouth).

Unfortunately, it's not my tank, it's the tank of a Zoo Aquarium near my hometown. But i love this tank, too. I think it's no problem to keep it clean, because piranhas aren't those "brainless" killers, like their bad reputation.
