I have this same camera. Found out Not to shoot RAW the hard way. During a photo shoot of a building being dynamited I got three frames then it stopped to write to the card.

Shoot in JPEG and it will keep shooting.

Get an SD card which can match the speed of the camera. Also, turn off the RAW mode when displaying speed.

dude your shooting 3 fps in like 5 frames then its like 2 frames per second maybe

get a d200 or a eos 30d 5 frames for like 50 frames

Canon 30D vs a Pentax K10D? JOKE! Canon has poor build quality until you get to the $2000+ models. Canon lenses also SUCK until you get to the TOP models. Lastly, street price for Canon 30D is about $1,000 while the Pentax K10D go fo about $750. More camera for less money.

You fail epically. Canon makes cameras with very good build quality. Canon lenses are awesome, even the EF-S lenses, which are better than whatever crap you're using with your crap. Also, if Pentax is so good, how come no pro photographer I know shoots with it? Everyone uses Canon and Nikon. Learn before you talk about something you know nothing about. Go ahead and give me the thumbs down, I couldn't care less. Just saying what had to be said.

are you shooting in RAW? this will slow things dramatically, obviously. could also be poor write speeds to memory if it's a cheap/slow SD card
