The experiment was done by the Trinity Institute of Neuroscience.
Basically, when the brain is in an extremely stressed and pained mind will in effect produce exactly the opposite results than the ones desired by any decent interrogator. In that the brain will release huge amounts of various hormones which have effects ranging from loss of cognitive functions, to severely impaired memory and loss of the ability to distinguish real memories from altered memories.

Torture can not be proven to work. It's probable that there have been no significant attempts to attack America at home for two main reasons; the US invaded Afghanistan and scattered much of al Qaeda, who is only recently regrouping, and our invasion of Iraq gave militants a new target- the troops.

The experiment was done by the Trinity Institute of Neuroscience.
Basically, when the brain is in an extremely stressed and pained mind will in effect produce exactly the opposite results than the ones desired by any decent interrogator. In that the brain will release huge amounts of various hormones which have effects ranging from loss of cognitive functions, to severely impaired memory and loss of the ability to distinguish real memories from altered memories.

Bush didn't have safety measures in place pre 9/11 and he changed his attitude and implemented steps to get information from "the enemy." So, on 9/10/2001, we don't know that we have anybody actively trying to attack us. Then the next day we are attacked...SUPRISE!!! Can Bush be to blame for that? Maybe. Present day...We know we have enemies plotting to attack the United States trying to kill you and me, and we know to some extent who it is. Then Obama takes away a tried and true information gathering technique (borderline torture) Then we are attacked. Is Obama to blame? Much more so than bush. BOTTOM LINE: IT WORKS

Torture can not be proven to work. It's probable that there have been no significant attempts to attack America at home for two main reasons; the US invaded Afghanistan and scattered much of al Qaeda, who is only recently regrouping, and our invasion of Iraq gave militants a new target- the troops.

I'm really liberal, but even I know there's a time and place for the unsavory aspects of war and such. I'm realistic.

wongster - alan greenspan and the rest of the federal reserves were partially to blame. dont forget the fed reserve is a privately owned entity. however congress passed laws to make it easier to get loans as well. it was the perfect storm. i think people need to come to the conclusion taht big government is never ever good for this capitialistic country. remember - the more you rely on the gov ernment the more pwoer they also have to destroy you and take everythign away.

Republicans still dont see that by going into Iraq, a country that did not attack us, or had anything to do with 911, the US created more problems than it solved. The Iraq war is analogues to a Policeman looking for a criminal but instead of putting his full energy into fining the criminal, the officer beat and torture a guy he did not like.
