  • who are the koreans???

  • Lol they DO realise they have guns, right?

  • @OUTLAW767 many soldiers both north and south preferred hand to hand combat rather than fire fights

  • @OUTLAW767 There's a reason it's called Trench Warfare. Too close quarters for weapons at times.

  • The Korean War, the unsung war.

  • Probably the greatest Korean War movie ever made.

  • It's such bullshit that in history class we study what america did for the South Koreans and forget all that the South Koreans gave to defend themselves and their country. I love this movie, because it tells what the South Koreans did for the South Koreans and their country. Hollywood gets most war stories wrong every damn time. I hate Hollywood. This movie was done right.

  • Полная голливудщина и говно.

  • Смерть америкозным марионеткам и предателям!

  • is that a m1 garand that the main character has? if so , is this the korean war? , if so , where are the american trench lines, I thought they were well mixed?(South Korean/American)

  • @walkingfunk we supplied them for a while before it got bigger and American troops actually got into the fighting

  • This movie was pretty cool.

  • "Good Movie"

  • why did that dummy general mcarther have to go too near to china. We could of won that war all the way. oh well at least south korea survived

  • wow, it's always awesome when you charge against a machine gun nest, equipped with nothing but a rifle and a infantry uniform! EPIC!!!!

  • Online dictionaries should have a link to this video for the definition of the word "melee."

  • Look at south Korea double teaming such NOOBS

  • so whos north whos south

  • @PilotInCommand100 The South Koreans are the ones dressed in green.

  • @PilotInCommand100 m1 helmet + m1 garand is south...........

  • gotta admit the korean realy know how to make a war movie

  • holyshit those molotovs are crazy, unless those explosions are from mortars

  • btw y do south have us army weapons like the garand???

  • @monster9630 the americans gave them weapons and ammunition to protect themselves from the communists

  • im korean...i watched this movie on netflix it is sad really.....

  • The Korea of Band of brothers

  • I don't see the UK in this movie just the say UN or US is the UK and US and s kora UN ?????????¿¿¿ :/

  • @legomatt2010 This movie focus' more on a story of two brothers during the war (Its not a true story) and not so much the UN support

  • That guy's probably like Yeah. I did that.

  • Jesus, that's sad :(

  • Very graphic!

  • This movie failed.

Not so much as in the box office part, but to convey the message.

It shows the horror of war but all people do is argue about the Cold War and communists, etc. that ended over 20 years ago.

  • @CamelBallZee TO BE CORRECT THE WAR NEVER ENDED,ITS STILL GOING ON

  • @rainbowcookie1013 actually its ceasefire

  • This War is because of U.S and Soviet Union, against the democracy and communists. It has nothing to do about the Koreans. They are just VICTIMS of the cold war. Stop bullshiting about history, Korea could've been a united country not devided by two .

  • no artillery ehhh...hmmm, you soldier go in that bar and take all the bottles and you drain that petrol station dry

  • They say that during the Vietnam War, the VC and NVA did not want to fight ROK Marines because they were well trained in hand to hand combat.

  • @LtActionCam The VC and NVA didn t like to fight the Americans in hand-to-hand comabt, much less the ROK. Simply cos both the Yanks and ROK were physically stronger than the Vietnamese as a whole. As much as the Japanese loved close quarter fighting,They lost in close quarter fighting when they came up against the Americans or British. South-east asians are physically small, and the North Eastern asians like the Japanese or Koreans were simply not much better against western troops

  • @species6339

    Great comment.

  • @species6339 Why were the Yanks physically stronger? Cos they were taller? As you may know, being tall doesn't make you stronger.

  • @VonTavast You are correct, but as you may or may not know, Westerners as a whole are physically stronger and bigger than the average asian.

  • @species6339 I find that hard to believe. Sure Westerners are taller, that is a fact, but I don't think they're stronger by the genes.

  • @VonTavast They are physically stronger, but that fact aside, ask yourself this, why has no Asian country had an Empire of its own outside of Asia. And why is it that Westerners have owned parts of Asia in the past. It is because westerners have been soldiers a lot longer than asians have in history. Asians have only been trained as soldiers for the last 130 years. Before that they were like many tribes in Africa and the middle east, good fighters, but crap soldiers.

  • @species6339 sorry to laugh at your attempts to sound knowledgeable, but that is the worst attempt at explaining why the west had empires period. Let alone make you sound smart, this actually makes you look real dumb. You should at least google facts up before commenting in the near future. No offense.

  • @species6339 I really hope you're not being serious.

  • @VonTavast I can take on the chin, we have a difference of opinion on what we both believe we know, but u may want to select some better choice words in the future if u have a debate with anyone else. It could turn nasty, believe me....I've seen it go bad, Take care. Peace.

  • @species6339 When did I ever have a bad choice of words? Yes goodbye.

  • theres so much close rang war

  • @TheMrian94 when it comes down to it, nothing is more satisfying than clobbering the people you hate with a really hard object

  • Damn, one second a guy is begging for his life and the next second he's trying to strangle you.

  • why are they using american guns??

  • 5:18 is that a ww1 machine gun?

  • So the Koreans are the ones with the camouflage and the others are... chinese?

  • they're implying tactics used by the japs in WWII, with the plant covered helmets and everything

  • Witch ones are the North Koreans and witch ones are the south koreans?

  • @ThePimpycat The south koreans are the guys who are invading the north korean

  • @ThePimpycat

The South Korean soldiers are the ones with the helmets and the M-1 Garands. The South Koreans are the ones in the Trenches with the hats.

  • @MichaelCasanovaMusic

North Koreans in the Trench. sorry

  • @MichaelCasanovaMusic do you understand korean?

  • @themrcheezburger

nope, im dominican. got quite a few korean friends though

  • 1:04

  • 1:54 for battle

  • Trench warfare is the second most brutal, intimate variety of battle on Earth.

But worst of all is urban combat.

  • Comment removed

  • He needed medal to send his brother back.

  • seriously how do ppl not know about the korean war...this is why America is ranked so low in education -.-

  • Bolt action- slower but a lot more reliable

Semi-automatic- better but it will screw up inevitably.

  • @ShootForFun824 During the korean war they say We (Americans) would lose ground because they would run out of ammo or their guns would melt. another thing was the N.K were crack troops and had more tanks then the Army, thats why we almost lost the Korean war in the very beggining. Hard to fight and enemy when they r all charging and throwing so much lead at you you cant shoot back or shoot back fast enough.

  • @ShootForFun824 That is an intelligent comment! I have been shooting all my life, and reliability is something I am not willing to compromise on. Take it from me, the best bolt action rifles are the short barreled carbines with the turned down bolt. I just got a German 98K, you wouldn't believe how easy it is to fire that kind of bolt action gun rapidly!

  • How do people not know about the Korean War....

  • @laskfj In the US it's not talked about so much. It was a messy war and after WWII we only like to talk about the really decisive victories. Their was relatively little mention of Vietnam in our culture until the 1980s.

  • Who the hell is fighting agaisnt how? What armies?

  • @ThePimpycat I think it was the soviets, north korea against south and usa and something with china, dunno lol search it up

  • @ThePimpycat interesting

  • i like how the north koreans explode...

  • What war is this?

  • @bunband It's the Korean war. It shows the south Koreans fighting

    the north Koreans.

  • gotta hand it to the south koreans - they know how to make a damn war movie!

  • @cirasoni09 i was actually asking WHO is fighting WHO!!! is this japanese vs. chinese or is it north vietnam vs south vietnam, or korea vs. north korea.. i have no fucking idea and cant tell by the rifles either... help me

  • @lobster9207 this battle is SOUTH korea vs NORTH korea, I am South Korean so I know.

  • who is fighting who?? they all look asian to me..

  • @lobster9207 guys with ghille(grass suits) = south korean

the guys with caps = chinese or north korean

  • @blackey3321 thank you sir

  • @blackey3321 actually the guys with caps are North koreans only, china hadn t entered the war yet, and they had a different uniform to the North Koreans.

  • my great grandfather was run over by a t-34 during the war, he was serving with the greeks when his unit was charged by armor in an attempt to save ammo. He was run over in his trench.

But he sunk into the mud and survived with a bruise :)

  • @TeamMastaPr2 Yes, the Korean war, its spelled with a K not C :)

  • @TaZ101SAGA Yeah, you're right, my mistake...

  • Comment removed

  • Freedom from control was worth fighting for. We salute all the freedom loving south Koreans, Americans, and civilians who died during this terrible war. We pray for the mislead communist soldiers and may god rest their souls as well. Man is evil, so don't ever let government tell you what's right or wrong, only god can. Whoever your god may be

  • war is fucked up

  • my two great uncles were drafted in to the south korean army like these two and were killed though :(

  • I can't watch this because GOOGLE BOUGHT YOUTUBE AND IT WON'T LOAD. -____-

  • The use of semi-automatic rifles such as the M1 Garand really does make the difference on the field of battle.

  • @RayceSangDeath Interesting comment! I have been shooting since 1967, I am also writing a book about military History. Yes, a semi automatic has many advantages, but I would still prefer a bolt action carbine, like the Russian M44. Why? Simply because a bolt action can digest the poorest quality ammunition. A semiautomatic is likely to break or jam if there is anything wrong with its ammunition.

  • My grandpa was in Korea. From 1951-1953. He used to tell me how nuts the Chinese were. 12 men would come over a hill charging your position and maybe 5 have rifles. He used to tell me of the stacks of dead they he'd seen. Where human cadavers were used as sandbags, to fight off the next human wave attack. There is a reason why the Korean War is not talked about as much in West, and that's because it was whole sale slaughter.

  • @HaggenPagan26 I agree with your statement. My uncle was over in Korea and I've heard the same stories. One that comes to mind is his story about being in the Battle of Chosin Reservoir where his platoon was surrounded by massive amounts of Chinese soldiers who would attack in waves with blunt weapons and small handguns. Over the course of hours, the Chinese managed to drain their ammo and energy by attacking in these waves all the while taking their fully automatic weapons for the next one.

  • @shredofmartyrs So.. US Army/ Allies = Space Marines.. Chinese, North Koreans, Orcs?

  • @HaggenPagan26 chinese and japanese two crazy fucking races battleing

  • @HaggenPagan26 It's too bad too, people in America act like this war never happened, or that is was a small little conflict that didn't affect the US, when in reality, it helped fuel thecols war, and caused thousands of US casualties. It did bring us a good ally tho.S. Korea has a good military, plus is a great strategic point the US can launch operations from. Good thing we're frends. I don't hate the North Koreans tho, 90% of them wish they were anywhere but in thier own country.

  • @SuperSneakySniper America should withdraw its troops from South Korea.

  • @breezeman199 Or no we shouldn't considering the south korean government wants us there incase of the north trying to be ambitious again. Especially after kim jong il dies.

  • @ContinentalPatriot Who cares what the South Korean government wants? Why should Americans be chumps? Why should Americans have to die for South Korea? S.K. has TWICE the population of N.K. It also has an economy FORTY times larger. It enjoys a huge technological lead over the north. There is no reason why S.K. can't protect itself. Bring those 28,000 troops home and deploy them on the Mexican border.

  • @breezeman199 Now you sound like an ignorant fool. How would it seem to the world if we abandoned our allies, left them to fend for themselves and then if they lost korea would have a stockpile of nuclear weaponry, a unified communistic state and a dangerous threat? You're an ignorant fool

  • @ContinentalPatriot This alliance is one-sided and serves no American interest. Why SHOULDN'T S.K. fend for itself? It has twice the population and forty times the economy of the north. N.K. already has nuclear weaponry, American withdrawal doesn't change that. Indeed N.K. developed such weapons because of America's presence there. So what if it is a unified communist state? Isn't China? A "dangerous threat"? Are you nuts? The Pacific ocean and thousands of nuclear bombs make this impossible.

  • @breezeman199 You're just a complete moron... A unified communist state is what we've been trying to defend against since the 1950's we're not going to let all the americans who died in the korean war die in vain! The sk fended for itself in the korean war when america stepped in to hold the line. You have no idea so please go crawl back under the rock you've been living under.

  • @ContinentalPatriot In the 1950's the USA had a hostile strategic rival - the USSR. It no longer exists. Interesting that you can do little but engage in infantile name calling.

  • @breezeman199 Yet you have presented nothing that would call for us breaking our alliance with one of our closest allies Sout Korea. It's interesting that you can do nothing but engage in non existent facts and only with your opinions. This conversation is over. Good day sir.

  • @breezeman199 You're from freaking Canada? LMAO dude I thought you were an American haha. Bro I have to rest my case, you wouldn't know anything about the outside would you. C'mon, have you been to S. Korea? Hawaii? Japan? India? China? Germany? France? Italy? Russia? Your opinion on the world and what it should do means nothing to me untill you've actually seen the world. Enough said. OH btw some people are calling you rascist on your channel... if that's true, ur a waste of my time.

  • @SuperSneakySniper I've travelled all over the world. I wonder why you think people in Canada don't travel? "Racism" on your part? America can no longer afford the luxury of being the self-appointed policeman of the world. And how could North Korea possibly threaten Hawaii? And why would American trade withe the east be curtailed? What you say is nonsense, but Americans are subject to tremendous propaganda....this isthe country that gave birth to yellow journalism.

  • @breezeman199 I never said you didn't travel over the world. I simply asked if you did, and stated that if you didn't, you have no opinion of it. N. Korea can easily take Hawaii, to think it can't is a joke. But aren't you Canadian? Why do you care? Can you tell me how US military spending affected you negetively at all? Just asking, don't get all over-defensive. Its our country, we do as we want becuase we can. Don't like it? Move here and vote against it. Im for it, so too bad bro.

  • @breezeman199 oh i think it's good the US is there, South Korea don't complain they think it's good the US is there to buff up thier military show of force against N korea. S korea enjoys the US company, well, at least that's what they're military and base military civilians say.

  • @SuperSneakySniper I don't think it's good the USA is there. It certainly is not good for America. Do you have any idea how much money it has cost the USA to deploy troops in South Korea since 1953? How long do you want American troops to be there? A 100 years? Enough. Bring those troops home now and let the Koreans work out their own matters.

  • @breezeman199 Well the US/ROK soldiers ain't complaining that's for sure, I enjoyed time there. I think the U.S. could save much more money in more efficient ways other than lowering defense levels in S. Korea. South Korea's problem is going to be our problem eventualy no matter what. If we leave, and S. Korea gets totally flattened, we have no defense or offensive capabilities in the east. Hawaii can't defend itself against one of the largest militaries in the world either. we'd be done

  • @SuperSneakySniper Why does America need offensive capabilities in the far east? Haven't you ever heard of the Pacific ocean? How could even a unified hostile Korea possibly threaten America? How is Hawaii in danger? Are a fleet of junks going to sail 8,000 miles across the Pacific ocean and invade? You can't be serious. You enjoyed time in S.K. - on the American taxpayers dime sir. And you were not protecting America either. USA can no longer afford outdated and pointless one-sided "alliances".

  • @breezeman199 I think you're not giving the Koreans and Chinese enough credit.

  • @TimOvrlrd The time has long since come for Americans to leave Korea. America can no longer afford the luxury of an interventionist foreign policy.

  • @breezeman199 I really want to avoid any long lengthy discussion that might escalate so I'll just say this. The North Koreans hate us. Just check out the propaganda. The Iranians do too and the two are closely tied. They both also have extremist governments that aren't afraid to pull the trigger or tell someone else to pull it as long as the US is the target. One last note, the Korean War is on going. It never ended. An armistice it in place, but its still going on.

  • @breezeman199 lol I saw Korea on my own time/my own dime. I checked out the military base there and met up with some of the soldiers for a breif time and enjoyed it. The poor people there are scared shitless becuase they know that if N. Korea got a hint of a decent chance, they'd hit S. Korea like mad. The U.S. hasn't given them a decent chance since 1953. I happen to give a crap about countries other than the U.S. Have you been anywhere outside the US and seen the people? They're just like us.

  • @breezeman199 I simply stated that abandoning an allied country is one of the less efficient ways to save govmt cash. The Leader of N. Korea is a psycho, I never said he'd invade the U.S, but if he DID take Hawaii what would we do? We would lose trade to the East. China wouldn't help, they'd like to watch our economy fall. We can't do much w/o chinese imports, soooo without the East defended, we get nothin'. N. Korean military is larger than ours, hawaii is not even an obstical.

  • What is in those bottles? Molotovs dont explode, why wouldnt the prop department just get some Mk2s.

  • @guyman117 Supply issues.

  • @TaZ101SAGA I meant the movies prop department

  • since they strangle each other with their rifles, they clearly lack a shuffle.

  • 3:03 Ev'rybody was KUNG FU FIGHTIIIIN'!!!!

  • Lots of friendly fire here....

  • Best war movie i've seen, everything about it is brilliant.

  • @MrThePsychologist ^idiot?

  • propaganda movie

  • @Theempore1234 no it isn't at all

  • when they are fighting in the trenches, its no longer a war, but a personel stuggle to survive

"war is great to those who have not experienced it"

  • The worst about the Korean War was that it was the same people in the same land killing each other over their own land. Much like the Civil War.

  • That's pretty much what it's like when any countries are fighting... The only difference between most of us is lines on a map. Really we are all just humans killing humans. But what makes us different is often our views on religion, or how we believe that society should be run, and North Korea are a bunch of crazy freaks. I would definatly chose to live in south K if I had to pick between the two. "Thank you Kim Jong Il, for painting the sky such a beautiful blue with your magic powers..." lol

  • @Yes0rN0 your a genius ;)

  • @Yes0rN0 It was nicknamed as the Korean Civil War

  • @JunierMahri246 Noooo Shiiiiit

  • don't mean to sound like an idiot, but we're following the SK here rite? (just to be shure)

  • @TheNanoSmurf Yes, the guys attacking are the South Koreans.

  • Best war movie of all.

  • this is another great example of a a movie which the leaders are toughter, stronger, more skilled and even braver. i think thats a problem, most soldiers which charge the machine gun posts die, but the leaders NO i wonder why? the leader of the attackers ( idont know if there north or south koreans) but he takes n an entire machine gun post by himself?

    thumbs up if u agree

  • @myballisticbeetz123 South Koreans are the one that charged. And the one who blew the nest was a private. Not a leader

  • this is another great example of a a movie which the leaders are toughter, stronger, more skilled and even braver. i think thats a problem, most soldiers which charge the machine gun posts die, but the leaders NO i wonder why?

    thumbs up if u agree

  • you know what would be cool? if they showed a movie with north korean-perspective, like they did with japanese-perspective of Letters from Iwo Jima, that movie was epic

  • @holyknight234 true that, geat movie

  • best war movie

  • Fuck war. Fuck the United Nations, they are the reason why the Koreans are still at war today. Kim il Sung was a phenomenal leader. If he died ruler of a Unified Korea another great candidate would take his place, not his asshole son Kim Jong Il. I think Korea would be like China, free market economy but strict government.

  • @RedRisingTiger If Kim Il Sung is a phenominal leader, then why did North Korea lost millions of people thanks to staving? If it weren't for the Soviet's, Korea will actually be united. The United States were planning a unified Republic of Korea but whiny ass Joseph Stalin want some communist rule. Plus, many North Koreans welcomed South Korean forces passing their villages while South Koreans resented the North advancement. So it's the Soviet's fault.

  • @JunierMahri246 Some of your points are very true. But North korea could not stand the fact that many politicians and military officers from South Korea served in the Manchukuo puppet Japanese army. Remember, 1 million Chinese troops crossed the border to help North Korea. Each one took an oath to give their life to fight American imperialism, all volunteers.

  • You're supposed to shoot with the rifle, not bash it like it's 1million BC

  • @badpeq Yea because when you less than a foot away from your enemy with a 3 foot rifle it's possible to aim and shoot him.... Dumbass....

  • @badpeq Being able to aim accurately is difficult in these kinds of scenarios. The enemy is very close and you dont always have time to aim and shoot with all the chaos going on. Your natural instincts will make you use anything to keep yourself alive.

  • @TaZ101SAGA I supposed you're right. Also, some of the early rifles were prone to jam or misfire.

  • @badpeq The rifle the South Korean forces are largely equipt with is the M1 Garand, which was a very reliable rifle, it would sometimes malfunction but it was a rare occasion. Being that it was semi-automatic with an 8 round clip, less accurate shooters would often fire the 8 rounds off very quickly and not be able to reload in the heat of battle, which is another reason there is alot of melee fighting.

  • @TaZ101SAGA That's why the Chinese and the North favored the PPSH-41 or the AK-47 because of its reliability and mass firing. The South and the U.S use the Grease Gun, Sten, and the Thompson

  • @JunierMahri246 AK47 & Sten were not used in the Korean war.

  • @TaZ101SAGA They were. The Soviets give their communist allies AK-47. It was one of the most popular weapon used by the Chinese and the British used Sten up to the 1960s. I should add the British to my recent post

  • @JunierMahri246 Yes you are correct, the British did use the Sten, seeing as your previous comment 'The South and the U.S Used the Sten' which makes no sense, because it was only ever issued to British troops. Besides, the NKA was not equipt with AK47's. Despite what alot of people think, the AK47 was actually shrouded in secrecy until 1956, when it was first seen in use during the Hungarian Revolution. The Russian's had trouble manufacturing the guns to start with, around the early 1950's.

  • South Korean army was pretty bad and got beated hard by the North Korean army that was well trained. This movie is pretty much off from realism but it's a good movie.

  • @SMGJohn Well they fought knowing they were probably gonna die. That made a big difference

  • 2 people got killed in the trench and burned to ashes well not really :s

  • Epic!

  • 7:27

  • 7:22 bum

  • 7:22

  • its a movie guys.....a south korean one

  • 5:22 he shot his own fellow soldiers.....

  • what war is this

  • @TheRacy korean war 1951-1953.

  • I had to watch this whole film in a history lesson. I couldn't help but shake as I watched as it only gets more and more gruesome throughout the film. Epic movie though, I love it the story line is really touching too.
