I don't even think they appealed to audiences or anything, because their best album by far was before they changed, and it always will be. I think they just ran out of 90s songs :) I've tried to write 90s music, and it's hard to keep coming up with original ideas, so of course one must evolve.

Rivers wrote this song two years ago, when his daughter was sick in the hospital. I don't think that he had a daughter when he wrote the blue album, you haters, considering his daughter is only four. He's different, so, naturally, Weezer's sound changes. Geez, don't whine about it. Weezer still fucking rocks, and time won't change that.

Man, you are right. Weezer does still rock, even though they weren't as good after Pinkerton. They still have good songs, and they are still mostly just Weezer in essence.

I don't think they "sold out", they just ran out of 90s stuff to write, so they have evolved to write other things. This song sounds a little bit 90s, though, which is cool.
