My friend and I are military history buffs, he concentrates on the pilots, I concentrate on the ground forces. Battles such as Paschendael, Normandy, the Somme, Stalingrad, and even Hong Kong. We try to make certain the people who lost their lives on both sides are not forgetton, or lost to time.

No, he was a runner through the whole war, actually. Until he was injured by mustard gas in the Battle of Paschendaele (which is described in this song). He was in the hospital until the war ended, and cried when he heard the news that the war was over on 11th of November 1918 at 11 o'clock. The rank 'Lance Corporal' was a valid rank in the British army during the First World War.

The lyrics are acctually about a specific battle. Battle of Passendale. 508 000 dead or wounded on the British and French side and 348 000 dead or wounded on the German side. A song about the trenches is however: Angels Are Calling. Of course this song is also about the trenches aswell, but ment to be about Passendale :)

Auschwitz was a polish army base, and they have no proof about the Vansee protocol,Hitler authorization and not much more about Himmler.
Auschwitz wasn't a "death camp" but a workcamp, with food,hospital,bed,toilet,shower,sona,university,brothel ect...do you saw Eisenhower Death camp, i know a survivor (My grandfather)this deathcamp had aproximatly 2 million german soldiers (not only nazi) over 1.7 million people died here in two months without food,water (the minimum to survive).

(btw, dresden was the reason fire bombing was banned by the UN and phosphorus bombing is also banned for civilian areas, as said Germany started city bombings, they were just crap at it, its often said those who perfect the way of killing are "evil", even when they are doing it out of desperate need to stop their own from being killed. As for auschwitz, russian army found them, dont think that they would lie about it.

The video doesn't have anything to do with the song which is about the World War I Battle of Paschendale that happened in 1917. The Band of Brothers movie was about World war II in 1944-45.
