yeah thats why i love my nds with my scdstwo ,but it dont do psx or n64,but psp does and no virtual buttons,now they just lowered the price to 120 for a new one so i bet i can get an old hackable one used at gamestop really cheap ,or even better just buy one from ebay with a broked umd for even cheaper,thats assuming you can flash and use cfw with a broken umd,i know on pes broken optical drive and cfw is a pin in the ass,can be done but it gets complicated

@sonick808,yeah i know ds isnt open source,i didnt know wiz wuz,but yea he said $180 but ive seen it for 80$,and you should really get a supercard ds2 then,if you like your r4,the ds2 has an extra processor and has proprietary snes,mame,and gba emulators for it,and a video player that supports alot of popular formats like avi and flv,not just dpg,but atleast they already got r4 working on 3ds,i heard the ds2 failed on 3ds,in ds mode anyway,but if r4 can do it ,im sure scds2 will be able to too

@bulletproof2353 the nintendo is NOT AN OPEN SYSTEM. Every emulator has to operate on principles acquired via reverse engineering. That leads to shit ports. The wiz is linux-based open goodness, which leads to perfectly running emulators based on open STANDARDS. I LOVE my DS and my R4 card, but it will NEVER be able to do what the wiz can, simply because of the open v. closed architecture. DS is the shit, but so is the WIZ, and they both should stay in their own lane.

Wiz is good,it plays most emulators inc. flash games and commericial games from gph,so it's not that bad at all,but playing cps1,2,mame,fba are one of the best games available anywhere,they can knock the crap out of the latest junk which is produced o nowadays handheld system,one of my favourite racing has to be outrun on mame also pc engine version is good but genesis version of outrun 2010 is wicked too.

The wiz may be an emulation based console.. but i do believe so is a jailbroken iPhone.. what this has that the iphone doesn't is proper buttons, which is why i will look into getting one. My iPhone currently has several emulators, it has the following emulators: gameboy, gameboy advance, super nintendo, nintendo 64 and even a playstation 1. So just letting you know that the iphone is in the same league.. however the lack of buttons let it down.. it does however have wii controller connectivity

I wouldn't call the iPhone a "great" gaming device. The same thing goes for the Android - at least for retro/platforming/shooter type games. The touchscreen Dpad just doesn't work well for these type of games.

As for the DS and PSP, sure you can hack them, but that means you have to avoid firmware updates. I used to use my DS as an emulator using the r4 card, but I found it buggy and many of the emulators were incomplete or buggy. The GP2X Wiz is "hacked" out of the box and runs emus better.

there are two big problems. First off, price, $180? $200 buys you an ipod Touch which already has 8Gb. It can be easily jailbroken free in less than 10 minutes. In minutes you can get emulators from Cydia ( free) with links to ROM sites In addition to that, the Ipod touch does more and better. Chris, try the Dingoo A-320. It's cheaper, better emulation graphics and speed, external memory (up to 16gb as far as I know of, with a MIni SD card), emulators + a few ROMs come free with it, and it looks great! You can download free software to overclock it, plus way more!!!

The controls are also easier.
