  • seen him play in perth last year....

  • Songwriting and performance perfection...right here (I mean Justin not me haha)

  • What a beautiful song. And Chris Difford close to tears. How moving is that?.....

  • justin reminds me of a singer songwriter called ellis paul. just have a qucik listen put ellis paul the world aint slowin down into the search field.

  • @Serioussmile51

Great song...Ellis Paul is really good

  • @TonyJackMusic ellis paul is very much alike to justin currie both write great songs yet neither really get the credit they deserve. its like they are both music`s best kept secret. thanks for checking out the ellis paul track, and taking the time to respond to my comment...

  • all i can say about justin currie and his music is "Brilliant" one of the best, if not the best in the biz. leaves me in awe everytime i hear him belt out a chorus.

  • I must have listened to this song 1000 times this year !!! .... Music really can help you through tough times.... Says it all in 4.21 ...Perfection !!! ... Top Bloke and keep 'em coming :)

  • It is absolutely criminal that this guy isn't a huge star. Many thanks to the OP for the upload - can't watch Songwriters Circle in Texas! :)

  • Chris is certainly not the first man to shed a tear from sound of Mr. Currie's voice.

  • Class....Pure class!

  • a song straight to the heart....beyond beautiful...this is for you, DAYNA

    your natasha

  • justin currie is a legend.. brilliant song writer. difford needs to pull himself together though.. lol.

  • @johant23 Why ? It's what made this such a real and special moment.

  • Excellent...need to watch more of this gig!

  • Justin sings it like it is. He paints such great feeling though his words and music. A master of his craft. Without equal. Inspiring.

  • I bloody love this song......

  • Brilliant, wish I had been there

  • i must have listened to this part of the programme 20 times, i thought it would be lost after it went off BBC iplayer, thank christ it was uploaded

  • class.

  • Songwriting at it's best. For Gods sake get back with the Dels!!?

  • Perfection. Sublime. One of the greatest song writers of all time. Further proof that real talent doesn't need to be carried in a giant egg wearing a dress made out of meat.

  • @BurgoFitzgerald And nor should it ever be.

  • Utter perfection. It just does not get any better than this. His album is sensational.

    Heart melting.

  • probably the most gifted songwriter of nowadays

  • Wow! Perfection! Must have been an incredible night! Flawless live performance of song by it's songwriter... heaven :)

  • absolutely amazing venue, song lyrics - everything. THEE best lyricist in UK today if not further afield. Why has he never received the critiacl acclaim he deserves? Yea sure success with Del Amitri but nothing near the platitudes he deserves - but then anyone who follows him will probably knows that he doesn't really crave major acclaim but very annoying for those of us who just how wonderful he is.

  • @deanmccoy777 couldn't have said it better myself. :-)

  • theres a website called video to mp3 just copy and paste the url then convert it

  • one of my biggest songwriter influences and definitely one of the greatest writers of popular music on the planet...fantastic

  • you can convert this to an mp3 file

  • @lochaber4me How?

  • brilliant song from an amazing guy

  • Difford was obviously thinking of every American Gong Idol winner, He weeps for America as we anually lower the bar for music everywewhere!

  • This live version is even better than studio version, fanstastic!

  • Enjoy Justin Currie's music more than I did Del Amitri. They had some good songs but he sounds better and writes some amazing stuff now. His music now has more of an impact - as seen by Chris Difford's reaction to this great performance

  • His voice sounds better now than it did 10 years ago. What a great venue too.

  • Buckin' Frilliant!

  • a perfect example of why Justin Currie is my favorite songwriter of the last 20 years.

  • Fucking brilliant!

  • I think Alyse knows what music is about and for, just my opinion but when a song sung by one man with a guitar moves a man, especially a fellow singer/songwriter in full public view and in my experience, many more, it speaks volumes but explains little, that part is for the individual.

  • im sure most of us can relate to this song in one way or another, and can have their own interpretation, really moving version and the video captured a beautiful moment in time created by a man and a guitar, no orchestra, backing singers or special effects needed, brilliant!

  • What a talented bloke,great sounds!!

  • nice to er original lyric put him in the curry

  • his voice is impeccable in this performance......and he moved his fellow contributor to tears - that's as compelling a statement as a songwriter could ever receive. just stunning. go, JC. you are a gift.

  • pure talent

  • love love love this song , I referred to it to in the same way as Difford, however i saw it as an act of defiance, more of a "actually, I'm fine" statement. Difford's reaction maybe suggested to me he wasnt treating the song the same way. However, the setting, the cast, the songs, and as dirkbogarde44 points out, its the very talent songwriters have that brings out reactions like diffords - all of it absolute TV gold

Going to see JC in Jan in Glasgow, cannot wait

  • @MartyboyGlasgow It's not defiance it's a whole lie - can't you see that?

  • @tonejacko ... actually no, I cant see that. ... surely the song means whatever the listener sees in it.

  • @MartyboyGlasgow Ok mate, not arguing but I think It's clear that our man always sings of lost love and heartbreak - he has never said "I don't care" That's the whole point isn't it?

  • @tonejacko .... i agree i'm not up for any kind of public debate, .... just enjoying the music.... it matters to me less what JC was thinking or trying to interpret when he wrote it, but moreso what me, chris difford, or others found in the song and how it may even have pertained to points in our lives and mean something over and above being just being a "good tune".

  • Anyone send me a link to the whole show?

  • hi dirkbogarde44

I was being ironic but this got lost in the post. Maybe I should've ended it with an emoticon.

  • @terry9675 Thank you... and you posted it on my birthday too :)

Thank you; it is just beautiful

  • This is a beautiful song. Justin Currie is very talented and underrated. I wish he would put this version on an album. I to found it very emotional.

  • Oi!! Difford!! Pull yourself together. People are staring!

  • @geezahjob Think it depends on your own circumstances and mood what your reaction to Difford is on this. I see your point but it's honest and isn't that refreshing ? After all, isn't music supposed to touch people, even songwriters.

  • never heard this song until the songwriters circle really really have never heard such a beautiful song from a guys perspective now i understand why woman listen to love songs lol..

  • Fabulous version and what a magical voice. Like Chris Difford at the end, I was in tears as well.

  • THANKS for the Songwriter's Circle videos in such brilliant quality!

  • Killer...no wonder Chris lost it.

  • Wonderful stuff, thanks for uploading it.
