He never ceases to amaze me. I needed to hear something to soothe me soul tonight and I found solace and peace I needed to lullaby me to sleep. Didn't have a warm body to hold and rock me to sleep, but this was, well ,,, really good. My lullaby.
i was a bit disappointed because i had to watch from the very back of the floor so didn't get a good view and being outside the sound wasn't brilliant but none of which was the band's fault. we still danced right til the end, especially for American Land and Twist n Shout.
@kpw11985 So many people think his great stuff was in the 70s and maybe the 80s.
But Magic (2007) is a brilliant album. Girls are for the ages, as we age, and long Walk for Mr. Bush, and America, now.
Land of Hope and Dreams is fantastic. Ghost, IMO, is better than Nebraska. Live, Across the Border makes me cry. Tracks is full of stunners. I've heard, Back in Your Arms, live, but 59 shows and never heard, Happy.
40 years of unsurpassed excellence; thank God, indeed.
this is a wonderfull song, one of the best ever thought up.of course springsteen has done this countless times in his career.
it would be great if he took us on this story further down the road now.if he did this with all his great songs from the seventies we would all be amazed again wouldn't we.
i love springsteen and he still punts out great records now,but i think his best songs all come from the 70's.A+++
Hey, did you read the comments on his official homepage about the third night in Dublin? Check it out and let us know if it was really like a miracle??? God - I envy everybody who was there. But I'm gonna see him in Duesseldorf in 3 weeks!!!
can confirm that sunday night in dublin was unbelievable! the crowd the setlist bruce and the band on fire... 3 hour show.. but i could not find fault with the thurs & fri nights either, they were amazing, bruce on fire!! role on cardiff!!!!
you have seen him 3 days in a row? I envy you!!! I'm hoping for a show like that in Duesseldorf; already seen him last December in Mannheim, the setlist then was heavy on the "magic" side...He is amazing!!!
seen him in belfast at christmas too, much different show still plays alot of magic but alot more oldies!he really is sounding better than ever!have to catch as many of the shows as one can afford!!
I dream of seeing him on hometurf in New Jersey....but I look forward to Duesseldorf...you are right, if you follow the comments to the last couple of shows there's been only praise. I love his oldies - like INCIDENT, THUNDERROAD and I WANT YOU....they send chills down my spine.
Bruce is the best lyricist of our all time--since the beginning of time. His lyrics should be made into scripture and studied by all religions everywhere--they are heavy indeed. Wish he had Eddie Vedder's voice!
Love when he plays Incident on the piano..
The man is truly a gift from God with music and lyrics from Heaven.
A brilliantly prolific songwriter for nearly 40 years now, for me no-one even comes near him for sheer talent.

Wonderful version, it's a shame it's not available on CD: I wish I could hear it everywhere!

This was on his second album, released in 1973. He was 23. He wrote this song when 22 or 23.
How is that possible?
He's the Mozart of our age, only a much better lyricist.
I mean, there is no else operating on the same plane as this guy.
I feel lucky to be his contemporary.

TaGlong -- if you pick up this record in its original form you will find that back in the day he did indeed have just as pure a voice as Eddie Vedder.
Have you watched their duets on here? Or better yet, check out Eddie's solo acoustic version of "No Surrender." Very well done.
