@TheZimstar You do not need to be jailbroke for this to work (unless you get tetherme - which you definitely want, because you will be able to send out the 3g signal - your phone will be a hotspot and you can connect to the internet on a laptop or other device)... Your phone doesn't need to be unlocked with gevey sim either (so you can always update your iphone and this will work still - pretty amazing)... tetherme is definitely worth the jailbreak tho, I highly recommend it

Everything works just like he said, only change is that the Tether me app costs 5.00 now and turns out i did not need to get the e71, if you just get the at&t compatible Sim from the straight talk website and call them up and have them activate it. it WILL work

I went onto straight talk sim dot com and bought an iPhone 4 compatible Micro Sim and $45 30 day unlimited plan and it took 2 days to get here. It works fine. In my opinion, spending the money on the Nokia wasn't quite worth it. (currently running IOS 5 un-jailbroken on an att iphone)
@killersamongkillers On straighttalksim they offer the regular sized sim, and the micro sim, each for $14.99. The iphone 4 uses the micro sim, click that you want to shop for sims, and it will ask what carrier your phone is compatible with (mine is the AT&T iphone, yours may be different) then click Micro sim. It will ask for you zip. You have to either purchase a $45 service card, or have a credit card for them to bill.
@killersamongkillers I found it was easier to buy the bundle they offer of a sim card, and unlimited plan for $60 and then just keep buying the $45 cards monthly. My phone is not jailbroken, or unlocked. These Sim cards are AT&T compatible, so there is no problem putting them into an AT&T phone. There is also a Verizon version.

Attempted to configure web data settings when I go to install profile it says install failed the UUID number for the correct settings is not unique this is after I put in correct APN and created profile. The error comes up when trying to install. UUID number for correct settings is not unique
You don't have to buy the phone, just buy a SIM card from straighttalk for your iphone. Its like $16 with shipping. Then just install it and activate. Very simple.
@Jayfire56 Your iPhone must be for the AT&T network. Its on their site just make sure you get the microSIM cause they have the normal SIM for sale also. Look at their coverage map first for the non-Android phones to make sure you can use their service. I'm waiting for my iPhone to arrive but my friend has this service and he's had no issues. Data speeds are the highest he's ever gotten from a phone and his service works in areas that his phone with Boost Mobile wouldn't.

If you already have a Nokia E71 phone that works and you need a AT&T sim you can go on straight talks website and purchase one they are relatively cheap. Don't ask what the price is just go on website. IT MUST BE A AT&T SIM!!!
Noki E71 is the Only phone to date that works with iPhone 4 as long as it has a AT&T compatible sim to run on that phones model. DO NOT TRY any other model. Stick to what is guaranteed to work. If you can't get that model advise to find another alternative. Unless you have money to gamble with.

the idea is.... when you activate... you tell straight talk your using a nokia phone.... so when you activate it, you dont even indicate the sim card number, you only provide an IMEI.

@workmand123 you can renew online threw the site .. once you've acivated the sim card its good for anyphone.. u can buy them unlimited plan and walmart and enter it online or call from your iphone..
@workmand123 No you do not have to reinstall the sim into the old phone in order to refill. All you have to do is call straight talk or go online to refill, or you can sign up for auto-refill and your card or account will automatically be charged every 30 days. Personally, I do the auto-refill because it's easier.

Everything works on mine, in fact I just transfered everything from one iPhone to another, and got everything to work on that one as well.
I'm sure you know that the TetherMe isn't the end of the deal, once it is installed you still have to change the settings inside. What is excellent about it however is that TetherMe will allow you to use your phone as a hot spot too.

@elmackal yes you can take your number but your account needs to be active in order for the port/transfer to work. you will also need your account # and account pin if you have one. dont sell the e71 after your done.. it can only be used with ST and to activate it the new owner will have to give the imei # the same one you gave already. just keep it for a back up in case you lose,drop or damage your iphone. oh.. you must have patciance with the ST CS they are in india and hard to understand.
@elmackal I brought 2 numbers over from att to ST. it took me 3 hours on the phone with them. they all read from scripts and seem incapable of anwsering any questions outside of the script. dont get frustrated just ask for a superviser if you feel like your going in circles.. the sup usaually speak better english and more efficent.

If you already have a Nokia E71 phone that works and you need a AT&T sim you can go on straight talks website and purchase one they are relatively cheap. Don't ask what the price is just go on website. IT MUST BE A AT&T SIM!!!

Noki E71 is the Only phone to date that works with iPhone 4 as long as it has a AT&T compatible sim to run on that phones model. DO NOT TRY any other model. Stick to what is guaranteed to work. If you can't get that model advise to find another alternative. Unless you have money to gamble with.

People you will need a Nokia E71 phone regardless you cannot just get a sim unless you already have the model. For those that plan on purchasing the phone please be advised its a gsm phone that works on at&t and tmobile. When you get your phone check sim numbers before activation. If you have 20 digits on your sim it's tmobile sim. 19 digits AT&T sim. If you have a tmobile sim do not activate call straight talk and advise them tmobile service is horrible were your address is. Have them mail out

the idea is.... when you activate... you tell straight talk your using a nokia phone.... so when you activate it, you dont even indicate the sim card number, you only provide an IMEI.
this is the trick to allow you to use your iphone. Just do it.
I had to restore my phone to get data to work, but it has been working for 24 hours. amazingly.

So every thirty days when I need to renew my minutes by purchasing the unlimited plan, I need to take the sim card out of the iPhone and re-install it back into the E71 and go through the steps of adding another thirty days of use with the E71? Then once it is complete re-install the sim back into the iPhone and it's ready for use... Or can I just do all of that with the iPhone? Thanks. @workmand123 No you do not have to reinstall the sim into the old phone in order to refill. All you have to do is call straight talk or go online to refill, or you can sign up for auto-refill and your card or account will automatically be charged every 30 days. Personally, I do the auto-refill because it's easier.

Everything works on mine, in fact I just transfered everything from one iPhone to another, and got everything to work on that one as well.
I'm sure you know that the TetherMe isn't the end of the deal, once it is installed you still have to change the settings inside. What is excellent about it however is that TetherMe will allow you to use your phone as a hot spot too.

When I call to activate the card should I be doing this with the sim card in the I-phone or pull the sim out and place it back into the E71 and activate the unlimited plan card?? @elmackal yes you can take your number but your account needs to be active in order for the port/transfer to work. you will also need your account # and account pin if you have one. dont sell the e71 after your done.. it can only be used with ST and to activate it the new owner will have to give the imei # the same one you gave already. just keep it for a back up in case you lose,drop or damage your iphone. oh.. you must have patciance with the ST CS they are in india and hard to understand.

@elmackal I brought 2 numbers over from att to ST. it took me 3 hours on the phone with them. they all read from scripts and seem incapable of anwsering any questions outside of the script. dont get frustrated just ask for a superviser if you feel like your going in circles.. the sup usaually speak better english and more efficent.
