I though of the ideal actor to play him, he has played cops before, he's handsome, slim and has dark hair and is the right age, plus he can wear a moustache without looking silly it is JOHNNY DEPP, the perfect Bosh

I always imagined harry bosch looking like gary oldman as commisioner Gordon in the new batman series. The tache, worn edge about him and the cheap suit....also thought edgar would be a bit cockier and smiley like um, like a taller version of Don Cheadle. But each to their own imagination right! Michael connellys 'Bosch' series is a cracking bit of writing, very addictive to read! thanks x

I HOPE I'm NOT giving anything away here, so I'll just hint that at one point, 1 of the characters in the Bosch novels told him he looked like a certain t.v. character...I'll write back if you wanna know :D lol

strange cos in "the last coyote" bosch describes himself as being edgar's mentor, and that he'd taught him alot of things

OUTSTANDING! I don't know if I missed it in the books about Edgar being older than Bosch, but I always saw them in my mind as closer in age..if anything Bosch being Edgars senior... I've read all of the Bosch novels up till Echo Park (can't wait for The Overlook...I may have to go get it while it's still in hardcover) I got addicted when The Closers came out, and then had to go back to the beginning and read them all in order! Thanks for this clip and I hope you make more! OUTSTANDING

Nice work. It was really a kick to see Bosch on film. Just finished the book today (awesome addition to the Bosch series!), so I waited to watch your film because I've been an avid Connelly fan for many years and wanted to avoid spoilers. Thanks!

Harry Bosch was a Vietnam veteran. Even in 1993, when this scene was set, he would have been older. But nice idea, anyway. I've read Echo Park and, like all of Connelly's books, I loved it.

The actor portraying Bosch, Tim Abell, is actually one year older than Bosch would have been in 1993.

This is not a movie trailer. It is not even a book trailer. It is a cinematic representation of the first chapter of the book and we tried to remain faithful to the source material.

Movie trailers are usually comprised of the most exciting moments of an entire feature film strung together in the most enticing (and some times misleading) way possible. This is the only scene we shot of Echo Park, so the MTV style editing you seem to be looking for was out of the question.

Good work! I'd love to see a whole movie done, but that'd take forever, I'm sure lol. I wasn't even LOOKING for this partic story on youtube, but this is among the top books I've read of his so far, imo.

Jerry Edgar is actually supposed to be African-American. Harry would have a mustache as far as I know, and a suit would be out of the question. He would have, more than likely, a sport jacket on with a blue oxford shirt underneath. Love the concept, and was very excited to watch this video. All in all, good.

The actor playing Edgar is author Gar Anthony Haywood. He IS African American. Harry Bosch's suit was author Michael Connelly's idea.

There is nothing in the books that states Harry has a mustache all the time. I've always assumed he could shave once in a while. Due to short notice during casting, Tim Abell did not have time to grow a full mustache and I didn't want to put a fake one on him.

But with the number of comments I've seen about his lack of facial hair, I'm beginning to wish I had.

I read about this in the times today,there are so many books coming out that writers have to stand out. great idea, good video, cost 10,000 for 10 mins, 1,000 a minute.

Very nice. Of course, in this medium it's hard to convey all of the interior Harry Bosch stuff. To put it mildly, the man has demons. I wanted to hear what he saw when he looked at the skyline, etc. Michael Connolly is one of the best. I can't wait to read the book!
