  • Me and my father used to listen to this band and to this particular song in our car. My father passed away, but this songs still reminds me of him.

  • Sometimes when your spirit slips away it never comes back. Rip. Philo.

  • one of my favorite Lizzy songs

  • 3.33 ...

  • Is this song about a bottle of whisky standing on a banana skin?

  • oh this song, THIS SONG!!!!! The emotion it brings to my heart, the modest sound becomes trippy and heartfelt when it touches my ear and I can do nothing but give love to everyone I see. Even though it is a heavily sad song, sad tunes, I feel love. I am amazed how emotions which seem so far away from each other can come together and create a total new feeling among the atoms in my body.

I love Lizzy, they will forever live for those who love to live.

  • We miss you Phil and Gary!! R.I.P.

  • If those guitars don`t get to you, then, well I don`t know. Just beautiful.

  • This song is a masterpiece..

  • as I lay on my death bed, there are 2 songs i want to hear before i die. Comfortably numb, because I hope I'll be in that state of mind. Spirit Slips Away is the last song or sound I want to hear before i leave this planet. It is such a beautiful song. Most played song on my i-pod. It's such a shame how underrated this band is. Any fan of great rocknroll or guitars, should have this band in their top three. hands down. i have pitty for all those fools who dont know this.

  • Wonerful band live too....

  • May the angels bring their flame to you Phil.

  • Shit almost brings me to tears. Phil died a few years before I was even born, but even I miss the guy...

  • @stormof87 Great choice, that is on the first album I ever bought so many years ago and one of my favourite songs. Paul Kossoff was a great guitarplayer and the voice of Paul Rodgers (later Bad Company wich was also fantastic) always did sent shivers down my spine. Funny you mentioned Free, I almost forgot about them.

  • What a voice phil had! Rock with soul behind it. Thanks Phil, scott, brian and the incredible Mr.Downey. You guys are my heros.
