I saw this live when we drove for hours to liverpool,to see one of marcs concerts (not soft cell's) and he performed some soft cell songs at the end...softcellxxxxxxx
Just listened to the Judy Street version (original?). I grew up with Soft Cell version which I love! However I must say the Judy Street version is just as good!!
I really like MArc Almond & Soft Cell, i really do! I check up on Marc Almond on Google a few days ago, and i scrolled down...it said that he was "gay"? Is that true? I have NOTHING against them, it just took me by surprise!
@Tootie002 : ummmm, seriously? surprised? lmfao! hmmmm, been a big fan for over 25 yrs. and it's really been quite obvious & Marc has always been out.
Isn't it amazing that this album and Soft Cell's descriptions of life in New York and London, the relationships, the parties, the emptyness etc, and the sound of electronic music, is as fresh and still relevent in 2010 as it was when it was written in the 80's. What briliance.
fantasic song by soft cell, but prefer the original northern soul version by judy street, but soft cell have covered it well.i think they could have covered more northern soul and brought it into the 80's with there fab style of new wave music.
Thank you for posting this wonderful song. I heard it on a TV programme about Marc Almond and Soft Cell a couple of days ago. I hadn't heard this song for ages and now I wonder how I could have forgotten about it. It's a heavenly song.
Shit fucking awesome!!!!Excuse my language:)) Im dying for this song!!!Boy, I love you for this beautiful song that u posted, hehehe! Million tnx and God bless you:))

Sorry folks, but Judy Streets original makes this look feeble :)

I'm enjoying retirement revisiting music of my youth. And SC has to be right up there on my list.
It's worth finding the words to his songs; they are so so timeless.
Wish we had guys and groups like SC nowadays ...
