I think it was about 1968 when I saw this record player at my friend's house. They released several top hit songs of the time on those tiny records. This must be quite a rare toy, as I have never seen another one like it until today.
A friend of mine had that record player back in the 60's! I remember how fascinated I was by the tiny records. I never saw another one like it until now.
The White Stripes sold something on tour called the triple inchophone or something like that because the records are 3 inches. They're still made in Japan - can't remember the manufactorer though
Hey, Not to sound destructive, but can you cut 33 LPs down in size to fit on this? At least you could catch the last track on an LP. Hmm, now I'm thinking about what songs are the last tack on side A & B of LP's I'd be willing to cut down in size... any comments?
I suppose you could cut down the 33's to make them fit but why would you want to...There are plenty of 45's out there to choose from and besides the best songs on the 33's are usually at the beginning of the LP and you would lose that.
From the early 1940's i believe

Do a search on ebay for 'Hip Pocket Record'. That's what this record player looks like it is designed for.

You must have very large hands then, optical illusion perhaps? It looks smaller than a 45 to me...

To be honest, the 45's protrude out and you cannot close the case if a 45 is playing but I assure you it plays 45's...no 33's though.
