Well the learning duration varies. For some tricks, she's able to understand within 10-15mins. For a more complex tricks, she might take up a week or more!
im just wondering what treats are you feeding her? i just bought a fischer lovebird whos 3 years old and ive only had him for a day and hes no longer afraid of me touching him and i would like to start trick training so i will need some treats
I've got a book called parrot tricks by Rani Robar and Diane Grindoll. Very informative. I'm still working on my lovebird. He was not had reared so my taming process is still on going. You've done really well with your lovebird. Thanks for sharing. Great videos!
Yah, I've read that book. It's an excellent book and I've a better understanding in parrot behaviours and taming tips. I'm sure we will be able to see your lovebird performing for us in the near future =) Have fun with your lovely companion!
Yesterday, I tried to practice a trick with Pico (turn around) and he doesn't understood what I wanted, even if a made the moove with my fingers to explain. He was afraid of my fingers near of him and tried to bite me.
I can't rmb the title. But the very 1st training book i ever read was written by an author Robar. That other technique learn are from books called "Idiots' dog tricks". Most impt before starting doing trick, your bird shldn't b afraid of you, he/she shld reach a certain tameness. How to gauge, is your bird willing to step up any time you requested? If he/she nt willing to do anything you requested, you should try working to build up the bond.
Well studied quite of taming & training books from dogs & parrots tricks. Well the most impt, to make your bird to do trick, is to build up the trust. Patience is also one of the key aspect in animal training. With that I'm sure you can slow guide them to do certain behaviours.

Give some time for your bird and you to adjust. Think you should try something like step up & down. Continue to work between the bond together, try giving more attention to your bird.

Thank you =) Personally i think all birds are intelligent, depending on the amount of time and patience given to shape out the behavior.
