This is the real feel that 54 stood for I don't know who you are but u got the true feel going on here, do post some mo videos fo my azz.!! I will give u a thumbs up brotha!
Disco is such H-A-P-P-Y music!!! I hope it never dies, and that us old timers can help to keep it alive for the younger folks. Salsa music and dance continues to appeal to all the younger generations, but unfortunately it seems less so for disco. Disco needs a really good P.R. person! ;-)
This song just makes you wanna move and if it don't then you're dead inside. I remember when i was 18 going to a club/disco in NY and this song came on and a group of Black gay guys pulled out some tambourines when this song came on and they never missed a single beat while they were beating them and dancing at the same time. I had never seen anyhting like it. I stood back and watched them go into some kind of trance while they just stole the dance floor. What memories this song brings to me.

Absolute Disco Classic. I remember this coming outta dozens of boom boxes on Riis Park Beach, on a post-Garage summer afternoon, and everybody in sight up and dancing to it. Ahhhh, the fun we had back then. if I hadn't lived it, I wouldn't believe it now...
disco-dancing to this song out of my freakin' mind on ludes, booze, weed and sex - all in abundance and excess!...love this tune - it brings me right back to my youth and the Summer of '78 (or was it '79)?...
There used to be a drag queen at Illusions (The Showplace of the South) in Atlanta back in the mid '80's that would do this song and dance across the raillings that you put your drinks on that were no more than 6 inches wide. It's amazing that she never fell off of it, it was great.
It was the 70's!!!! Sometimes it's OK to have mindless, happy music to forget about all the crap in the world, just like in the Great Depression.... People always shit on disco, but it was meant to cheer people up, get them to dance and escape for awhile...
Brainstorm was a great band- wish they had been around longer. Musicians and singers- they were all great. Plus Belita Woods (lead singer here) and Treaty Womack wrote this.
Best thing about this song??? When you're nearing the end and starting to feel sad because the song is almost over, you can just drag the progress bar back and listen to it all over again.
I love this....this is one of the songs they used in Noah's Arc...this is the song to get me going in the morning....makes you want to dance.......loving is really my game.....
THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS DISCO/DANCE CLASSIC STILL RELEVANT TO TODAY! THIS IS ONE OF THOSE 12" SINGLES WE WOULD ALWAYS PLAY (SNEAK IN) A 45 (7" SINGLE) OVER THE BREAK - CHECK OUT SHE DRIVES ME OUT OF MIND by THE SWINGIN' MEDALLIONS. THE MUSIC & VOCAL ARE INCOMPARABLE - THANKS AGAIN! DAVEDJ
oh yeah! bring disco back, disco, disco, disco, 70s disco, 80s disco, american disco, eurodisco, energydisco, nu disco, italodisco, techno disco, disco house, bring it all back, lets have a STUDIO 54 party
I was a dj at 18 and i couldnt play this enough it used to pack the dance floor! How is miss those days. when you would dance so much you were soaked to you underwear...if you wore any,lol
I was a dj at 18 and i couldnt paly this enough it used to pack the dance floor! How is miss those days. when you would dance so much you were soaked to you underwear...if you wore any,lol
oh my god! forgot about this song. was when i was i high school and still in the closet except to my best friend jackie. we would go to the only disco that didn't card us. have nasty sugary cocktails and dance our butts off. wouldn't trade those memories for all the money in the world!
oh yeah....what a mother funkin disco choon....have to buy some flares now....Why can't todays crappy charts have some music like this!!Absolutey brialliant!!!!!
yes yes yes bring back memories i was in my very early 20's and me and my college friends would get all pretty and sexy so steve would pick us to get in so much fun and memories we became regulars lol every A-list celebrity would show up on the dance floor just to boogie i bumped into michael jackson during this time he had the afro and he started dancing and said dance with me so i danced my butt off to this song he wasnt a celebrity that nite just a person having fun thanks Naomi
Oh, lawdie lawdie. They would play this at 5am at some NYC waterfront dive just when you were beginning to wear your ass out from an evening of dancing and controlled substances. After this ended you either dropped dead of a heart attack or were up for another 6 hours of dancing. Whatever, you were in heaven.
Brilliant vocals from Detroit songstress Belita Woods coupled with clever lyrics belying the innocent "boogie-on-down" title. Their first TABU release, "Wake Up And Be Somebody" was a massive spin at the UK's Blackpool Mecca in late 1976-early '77, while this track went on to become well-loved on the wider Northern Soul scene, back when "fast stompers" were the order of the day.
A real classic!!! At 50 years old this song still gets me up and dancing. Brings back memories of the days me and the boys would club hop all over Westchester, the Bronx and Long Island. Thx for posting...
I remember this at HALLOWEEN at 54... and other nights I went crazy dancing to it! One of my favs... only wish there was more film footage of the real STUDIO 54... ( no I am not the real Joan) lol but i was a regular / or as some would say irregular at STUDIO!
