  • So I suppose this is a "Austin's Heaven? " Sorry Acw -couldn't resist! I though you had friends in high places, but the "Big Man" must have been well bribed to get weather like this!

    Cracking. Diolch!

  • I think my Heaven would be high up on the slopes of Ais Gill on the S & C really, but a glorious day in Wales such as this comes pretty close. Thanks for your kind comment

  • Great, semi professional video. It will be a nice memory of my holiday in Wales, during the dark days of winter. Some scenes are filmed in Rhy Ddu, one of my beloved places. Thank you.

  • Thanks very much, I agree with you, I will enjoy looking at this one again on a cold winters day! It is beautiful around Rhyd Ddu

  • Would like to agree with every word written by kenbrown1947, Thank you so much for posting this. The perfect way to relax at the end of another long day. Most excellent work Sir!

  • Thank you very much, I'm pleased you enjoyed the video

  • Sorry Austin! I knew your correct name but was confusing you with another railway enthusiast! Think your video got me too excited!! Ken

  • Wow this video has everything in abundance! Stunning scenery, winding curves, steep grades, 10 coach trains, powerful little narrow gauge Garretts, great photo positioning, sparkling clear quality, and a talented photographer, no kidding this is great stuff, I'm so impressed! My aren't the Welsh blessed with scenes like these? Thanks so much for sharing Adrian, quite a wonderful video and def a fav with me! Ken

  • Thanks Ken, I was indeed fortunate to have chosen such a day, makes a real difference to the clarity and, of course, shows off the scenery to perfection. P.S. I'm an Austin, not an Adrian!

  • Wonderful video ! Thank you for filming the Garretts with the beautiful scenery in Wales. Great art ! Bravo Austin.

    Philippe

  • The star of this video is without a doubt the stunning scenery Austin, you were also blessed with perfect conditions which you certainly made the most of to get these outstanding images....10/10....Bob

  • BRILLIANT Video, I wish the weather had been that good when we were camping over there a couple of years ago durring the Garret 50 Gala.

  • Thanks very much, its just a matter of luck isn't it in that part of the world, the weather can change so quickly

  • Do you know the shot at 2:15 how do you get to that location? is it lineside or accessable by road?

    JameandPeter

  • Absolutely fantastic video of a great line Austin. The weather played a big part in this video. I have been a couple of times to the WHR and a few videos are on my channel if you would like to look.

Thanks for uplaoding this great video.

    JamesandPeter

  • Thanks very much. Quite agree with you, the sunshine really makes a difference for any type of photography. The WHR is such a fantastic achievement. I'll check your videos out as I like looking at anything from the WHR

  • Super camera work Austin, coupled with stunning scenery. Haven't travelled on the WHR yet so something to look forward to.

    regards Mike

  • Thanks Mike, good to hear from you and hope you are well. I have travelled on it quite a few times in recent years and really wanted to get some lineside shots. A repeat visit is planned

  • Excellent ! Many Thanks.

  • Cheers, glad you liked it

  • Excellent shots Austin, the weather similar to that when I was there earlier this year. That first location is stunning isn't it, with the view right down the valley. It's the only one I used as I then had a trip on board.

  • Thanks Ralph, yes I remember your shot and it was definitely one I wanted to try. Only trouble was I kept losing the train on the LCD screen, hence the numerous fades!

  • I really enjoyed this thank you. You certainly new the best locations. Nice one.

  • Thanks very much, bit of homework done for the locations!

  • been a while since ive been on this railway

  • I'd certainly recommend a visit

  • Beautiful!

  • Many thanks Adam

  • Only trouble with that weather is, you don't get the smoke & steam. Those Garratts do sound as if there's a lot going on, don't they.

  • Yes that is the drawback on a warm day, the Garratts are very noisy. I could hear the departure from Beddgelert for ages before I pressed the record button

  • Excellent shots of one of the top UK preserved lines, the scenery is next to none and you caught it on a perfect day well done Austin.

    Regards Phil.

  • Thanks Phil, I need another visit now with hopefully similar conditions

  • Stunning Austin, I wish it'd been that sunny for our trip last year!

    Simon

  • Thanks Simon, it was a very pleasant surprise to get weather like that. May see you at the Foxfield at the weekend. We're going Sunday as the forecast is a bit better
