There is an element of truth Daveman in what you say. Communism is in the best interest of every capitalist. It's called Global corperatism in other words global fascism. To ignore history is somewhat foolish. However it's a great song and made with the best intentions
first time I am hearing this band. Can someone please message me with like a list of their albums and top ten songs or some such thing. Love this song :)
@davefman1984 So pathetic...A big big lie...You should tell that, to those children who work 18 hours a day in China, India e.t.c and after having worked all of their life, they will die in poverty...
Lazy are the capitalist who sits in their offices in wall street... I feel sorry for you...
Finally, ive stumbled across music thats not shallow and morally disgraceful, how decent. Akon, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, 50-cent, ect, these "artists" make music because it makes money, not because it has genuine value, capitalism is ok but it certainly has its flaws.
@Interioroutbreak69@Interioroutbreak69 Capitalism is not OK it is slowly destroying the planet. It is not free it is regulated as it is a leviathan that has grown legs and arms, it is consequentially littered with contradictions. I hope one day it will kill people at 'arms' length to often and people will unite for once and all. denounce money in all its forms live off the planet with grace and honour. Peace be with you my friend...

@jimmarruk You are forgetting one important reality. PEOPLE ARE IMPERFECT. world harmony is impossible for that reason. we can only hope to get along as we seek our own self interest. if only music today had soul and substance like the manics have, glad i stay away from that radio 1 and mainstream in general these days, music for the jelly brained.
I've been reading a lot about this man, Kevin Carter, that took this photograph of this little girl being stalked by a vulture. This article was talking about this song and I thought I should check it out.
This song is absolutely fantastic!!! I grew up listening to The Manics as my mum was a huge fan of theirs. It's just a shame there isn't more music around like this nowadays (Yes, I am only 19 haha)
a good gutsy rock number that makes you proud to be british. i like the rolling drums and wall of sound of guitars. there's something sad about this song despie it being uptempo and loud........
i have this album. havent heard this in yonks. I think that there was a massive fallout between richey edwards and the rest of the group. everything must go was the result. they wanted to move forward and they became a hugely successful commercial band after everything must go. if you look at the cover of the album. the three remaining members are in framed photograhs on a bottom shelf. the top shelf is empty.......
sometimes with bands who are about to become global band members panic about such things and get really stressed. that happened to Bill Berry a founder member of REM. He left the band after collapsing after a gig in Zurich. Stipey made a documentary out of it. which I saw and I was like oh micheal stop being such a drama queen. I read in a book about rem. that there was a lot of tension in the band. berry hated travelling.
yeah, same thing happened with John Frusciante of the chili peppers....He ended up quitting and becoming a reclusive drug addict before his friends saved him and threw him in rehab..
that documentary about richeys disapperance was one of the most haunting things I saw at that time. cutting words into your arm is symptomatic of not being in a very happy place but why? that is something we will never know....
lucky you! there's shit tons of other great and better ones to be discovered; they've been around for almost 25 years and their sound has changed a lot over the years, and different people have different preferences. but this is off a very good album of the same name (everything must go) and is my second favourite

@Fgh2rvb. I thought so. The idea that I'd only ever have seen them on a big screen at the side of a stage at some festy was ever present. I guess there were around 200 people in the room and a good many of them were Brits (You could tell by the accents) but a huge number of the Americans "knew all the words", so audience participation was enthusiastic and competent.
You know what sucks? And don't rip on me for this. But I always Google things like "saddest songs ever", "most powerful albums", and it always comes back with songs like this.
